Eyeliner -Guerlain - Divinora Eye Pencil in Bronze Noir
goodtiger 12/28/2008 6:01:00 PM
As below, this is an olive/bronze color that looks golden once smudged into the lash line. It's soft enough that I use it in the crease also, and it doesn't get greasy. Long-wearing and lovely! A real keeper!
Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Matis Eye & Lip Mask
goodtiger 12/24/2008 4:01:00 PM
I agree with tashak -this stuff is HG status! It has the consistency of Elmer's Glue, but moisturizes like nothing else on earth. A tiny bit dotted on the eye area and upper lip is all that is needed. Once absorbed it does a beautiful job of smoothing & moisturizing the area. Says "mask" but I use it as a daily eye moisturizer. Now I have my sister hooked on it too....(spread the word!)
Cheezy name for a nice product! Contains a host of anti-oxidant and anti-ageing essential oils in a blend of organic carrier oils. Comes in a 15 ml blue glass bottle with a separate eye dropper cap, or you can use the dispenser cap that comes on the bottle. The blend of argan and marula oils with squalane, pomegranate oil, borage, evening primrose oil ,rose hip seed oil, seabuckthorn berry extraction, frankincense, myrrh, rose EOs, carrot seed oil, rosa damascena oil. all smell kinda "head-shop", but not overpowering and the scent quickly disperses. Doesn't contain any "fillers", silicones or synthetic preservatives, colors or fragrance. $18USD +$6 S&H for a 15 ml bottle from www.naturesgift.com. I apply a few drops of this quickly absorbed oil on skin moistened with thermal water and massage in. Helps calm skin irritated by Retin-A and makes it soft. Since it is so easily absorbed, I think it would be suitable for all skin types. I am normal and it has not caused any breakouts. I even apply a drop warmed between my fingers to the ends of my hair before flat-ironing and I swear it makes it shine like glass. Will repurchase. ________________________ ETA: I discovered quite by accident that Cleo's Secret also makes an amazing topical pain reliever. I had some on my hands after massaging onto my face and I happened to rub my knee that is still occasionally painful after arthroscopy 2 months ago. Pain instantly gone! Every time I use it, same thing--->pain immediately gone! Even my shoulder pain after shoveling snow--->gone. It doesn't seem to be related to massaging it in either, since just applying it briefly relieves the pain. Miracle! Will definitely keep a bottle in the house! Smells a lot better than BenGay too!
Contains Poly-2P (a reparative), plant sterols, squalane, thermal eau. Moisturizes and forms a waterproof, but not occlusive, barrier from environmental chemicals and irritations. For face, hands, body. Non-fragranced. Suitable for children. This is about the most economical moisturizer I can find! For $9.99USD for 75 ml aluminum tube from www.leguidesante.com (you pay $24 for S&H any size order, so it makes sense to order lots of items here). It leaves a non-greasy but moist feeling and appearance. This has saved my skin from over-exfoliation, and from chapping in cold weather. Very soothing and non-irritating. A staple in my house.
Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Alojoba Conditioner

The thing I like about Alojoba conditioner is that it conditions my fine, highlighted hair well without weighing it down or leaving it stringy, which is always a problem with fine hair. I really don't notice any lingering fragrance...not as bad as the Aveda products - gah! Contains cucumber, vit E, wheat protein, jojoba, aloe, panthenol (B5). Nice rich but light conditioner. I use an amount the size of a nickel on my chin length fine hair and rinse it immediately. It doesn't leave my hair greasy-looking but detangles it and gives it bounce.
Nice protective hand cream with a lovely orange scent! It contains parafin to coat the skin and nails. I keep reaching for it for its fragrance!!
Nice emollient body moisturizer that is quickly absorbed and not overly fragranced. Contains: chamomile, bitter orange, cyclopentasiloxane, soy, aloe, **tons of cetyl-, butyl-, poly- chemicals, in spite of the "natural" aura that Origins tries to project**, coffee seed, grapefruit, pine oil, mandarin, tangerine, clove, lime, panthenol, muru-muru seed butter, barley, sunflower. The scent, which is refreshing, is what I like: like a summer shower!
Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Cellulite Shield Advanced Body Moisturizer
goodtiger 11/15/2008 7:26:00 PM
"Clinically proven to significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite in 2 weeks." Ingred: water, glycerine, mineral oil, stearic acid, glycol stearate, propylene glycol, petrolatum, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, cetyl alcohol, caffeine, cooa seed butter, menthyl lactate, lanolin alcohol, menthol. agar, shea butter, grape seed extract, olive leaf extract, green tea, sunflower extract, chamomile, rosemary, tangerine, lemon peel.... 18 oz pump bottle for around $6USD. The fragrance is a light citrus and fades quickly. There is a slight cooling sensation due to the menthol, but it's not unpleasant. It leaves a "dry" finish, not a moist feel to the skin, but it keeps the flakies at bay and does seem to be firming up the "jigglies" on the thighs a bit. Too soon to tell as I've only used it a week and a half. Hope springs eternal...for $6 it is a nice-smelling lotion anyway. Edit: Jan 2009. It smells nice but that's the extent of its benefits.
I must have gotten a dud because mine cracked around the base after one washing. The black plastic coating on the handle is just destroyed! Didn't drop it or misuse it, but there it is. Otherwise the brush is nice and soft and dense enough to apply MUFE HD foundation. I dampen the bristles slightly and then blot them dry before buffing on HD foundation. Too bad. Back it goes to Sephora. boo hoo :(
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Profumum Dulcis in Fundo
goodtiger 11/6/2008 1:33:00 PM
Love at first sniff! A truly yummy perfume that develops well into a deep vanilla with a sweet orange note. Luckyscent describes it as citrus and Mexican vanilla. Agree with Gourmand below that there is NOTHING else like it. Of course there are many many orange/vanilla combinations, but none as voluptuous and deep as this one. My only regret is that I didn't buy this earlier because now it's going for $240USD + $7.95 S&H@ Luckyscent for a 100ml bottle. Pity. A smaller size would make it more accessible and portable. In case you were wondering...."dulcis in fundo" loosely translates to "the sweetness in the end". Also, Italian slang for "the ladyparts"!!!
Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Protection Sun Protection Lip Care SPF 30
goodtiger 10/29/2008 6:20:00 PM
I was looking for a change from my usual Burt's Bees Beeswax lip protector and tried this one. Not too bad, it feels creamy, not greasy, and does last a little longer than Burt's. Fragrance is a nice citrus blend, but not too noticeable. I like that it has SPF 30 but the titanium dioxide makes it look whitish on my lips..boo. edit: lippies off for the twist-up tube....it just doesn't want to work!! I twist & twist and the dang thing doesn't move!! It takes a lot of twisting to make it work...gah! edit: the dang tube crumbled and broke with a week's use. Would not repurchase unless they change the packaging.
Eyeliner -Chanel - Le Crayon Yeux Noir Scintillant #27
goodtiger 10/28/2008 3:43:00 PM
LE 2008 Holiday. Inky black with a *wink* of gold. The sparkle is very fine and not disco - just enough to give a slight twinkle. I use this to tightline and it really adds a bit of elegance. The pencil has a soft rubber doe's-foot on the other end for blending and smudging, which is nice because this definer is just soft enough to blend nicely, but lasting quality is good- I've never had a Chanel definer smear. At $28, I wouldn't call it a bargain, but more a necessary luxury!
This does a good job of preventing static when blowdrying my medium short fine straight hair. I don't like to use any styling products - they just weigh down my hair- so this is all I need to get shiny swingy hair without flyaways. Lippies off for the sprayer, which clogs, and for that nasty smell - like plastic burning!!
Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
goodtiger 10/22/2008 10:35:00 PM
I add a splash of Bragg's and a tsp of organic honey to a half bottle of any conditioner I have and shakeshakeshake! Then I wash my hair with it. I have to be careful to rinserinserinse like mad and all the styling products, hard water buildup and assorted pollution just slides out of my hair. I am left with silky shiny bouncy soft and clean hair. One word of caution tho: this mixture doesn't foam like a regular shampoo. It preserves color well and actually keeps my scalp from overproducing oil.. wonderful and a lot cheaper than WEN!
Used on the dreaded nose pores, this fills 'em in like spackle (sorry, Laura Geller, this stuff is better). A soft peachy soft balm-like product that makes foundation, or just powder, look air-brushed and leaves your skin porcelain-like. (It is darker IRL than in this Productville pic.) I pat in on my skin in a veryvery thin layer rather than rubbing. Ingred: cyclopentasiloxane, C30-45 alkyl cetearl, dimethicone, crosspolymer, titanium dioxide, sericite, iron oxide, kaolin, vitamin E, zinc oxide. So yeah, nothing magic, just silicone to smooth the area and a few added goodies, but the consistency is nice and it works and is relatively inexpensive. Pure_Luxe is a great discovery!
