This is one of the few shimmer blushes that actually has silver shimmer opposed to gold. I loved Nars Angelika, but it is not as long lasting on my skin as this one. This one takes me through the day in one application. Also Nars Angelika is tad lighter, brighter pink. This is more muted. I love this color. But I swapped it away, because I started sporting for more natural look without so much shimmer as one day when I looked myself at mirror with all my eye, lip and blush products on, I realized that I looked like e drag queen, which is fabulous, but I do not perform anywhere. Also Bobbi Brown blush compacts are the most portable around, small and perfect for travel.
I wish that MAC would still make these. I love this liner in every single way. For me the brush applicator is perfect, the texture of liner is perfect, it is easy to apply because it is not too watery whereas it would make an uneven line like Bourjois Clubbing liner does to me. It has nice sheen to it. I have never ever used another liner which would keep my eye makeup looking fresh all day. This does not go any where at all. I always get compliments when wearing this color as it makes my green eyes pop. All other MAC liquid liners are crap. I do not understand why they take these amazing liners of from the market.
I am Bobbi Brown Porcelain and I wear the color Fresco. It is an okay match. I agree with the previous reviewer that the foundation is pretty drying on the skin for winter. My skin is normal/dry on the winter and mixed on the summer. My forehead and chin tends to get oily always especially when it is warm. Now it is February and weather has been cold. I noticed some skin peeling and dry patches on my forehead and my skin felt really dry and irritated after the day when I used this. However it covers great. I do not need any concealer when I wear this. I might just wear this as a concealer or eye shadow base, without any problem at all. It is really good coverage so I do not really find this really flattering on allover face. While it covers everything, it is dead matte and makes my skin look older and more tired and made up. Maybe it will look good on the summertime. I find something like Benefit You Rebel more flattering as it is sheer and just does not make skin look dead and it does not draw attention to bumps on the skin. I see many young and older women wearing heavy coverage foundation like this and it does not look very flattering in real life, maybe it worked for photos, but it is too cheap looking and made up to look like natural skin. In my opinion you only need this if you have to cover some serious skin issues like acne or other.
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Wild Orchid 457
glitteradi 2/3/2012 12:03:00 PM
I bought this lipstick because I liked MAC Girl About Town, but I had been stupid and swapped it away. I have always liked Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks too. And when I saw Wild Orchid, I ordered it. Revlon is not anymore available in many EU countries and I dont really get WHY becuase they have so many star products that exceed the quality of anything LOreal and Rimmel makes, and they are NOT animal testing either. BOO for Revlon leaving us. Seriously, I do not know who to blame for that. I love Wild Orchid, it has the same ROCK GLAM attitude as MAC girl about town + MORE.It is a super bright deep fuchsia and it has sheen to it which is not so much that it looks cheap. I just find I love to put it on in days where I really want to kick some ass and need a confident boost. This is a color for all you AMAZONS out there. Also it does not dry out my lips like Bobbi Brown lipsticks and it is not greasy like LOreal and Dior and so many most others! I love it just as much as MAC lipsticks. I am wearing Bobbi Brown Porcelain foundation, honey blond hair, green/blue eyes.
I bought the color absolute black and I like how it shines. It is a really intense black to and it stays on okay. However I do not like the brush and the texture of the product. The texture is really wet and therefore hard to apply evenly. The brush is also hard to control for me. I like MAC liquid last liner more, because the texture of the product is not as watery and I can draw beautiful lines easily. I find I can only really easily make simple lines on my upper lashes. I need to forget about the winged retro anything when I am using this liner. I als usually use a separate brush becuase it is so hard to control. However I like it better than felt tip applicators.
Eye Shadow -The Body Shop - Shimmer Cubes Palette 22
glitteradi 1/16/2012 5:05:00 AM
I went to Body Shop for a light pink glittery shadow because I ran out of one MAC light glitter pink color and I did not have any other makeup store but the Body Shop nearby. This palette does not contain ANY color like that. So I bought the palette 21, but this was so beautiful that I could not resist. And I must say, I reach this palette more often than the boring 21 with all the useful colors ha ha. This palette contains: Pure Turquoise, Mint Green, Silver Grey and Forest Green. Pure Turquoise is just what name implies, Bright Turquoise, Mint Green is palest of all colors. Light green, I just do not understand why is this color "mint green" real mint is lot darker than this, but maybe they always mean like the color of the candy mint?? Forest Green is the Darkest, I use it as a liner also. It is Dark like our Pine tree filled forests in Finland. Dramatic green color. And then there is Silver Grey. I would however call it silvery green color. It has a hint of green in it. This is a beautiful palette. I wish I could find or make a MAC palette like this. Because these Body Shop palettes always crease on me. Maybe it is becuase of the marula oil they use. I dont know.
Shimmer cubes are one of those things that are hard to resist. The way they are packed is special. You can see what you have. I like this packaging. But on the other hand they are not travel friendly at all because they will crumble very easily. I have not traveled with my palette 21 but my grey color of this palette has already crumbled a little bit. I bought this palette because I ran out of the really light glittery pink color of my MAC Take wing palette and I did not have anything similar. I would have preferred to buy another similar MAC shade but I did not have a MAC counter near me. Because I am always running out of light colors I figured that The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes 21 would be a great deal. 2 colors of this palette are shimmery and suitable for highlighting even for a very light skin like my NW 15 skin. The light colors are white and pink beige. The other 2 colors are mac cranberry type color but much less pigmented, more suitable to use as a blending out the dark edges color and also a gray color which also is not pigmented. Other vice I do find this palette a little boring and also the worst thing about it is that it always creases on me, even with a base. I regret that I did not just wait to get near MAC store and buy a MAC color or just order one from ACW becuase seriously, MAC colors stay on the longest.
Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua eyes waterproof eyeliner pencil

I have owned this in black, blue 15L and plum 4L. None of the pencils left me impressed. The black really is not black enough for me and not as long lasting as a cheap German Essence fluidliner which is also more pigmented. The blue and plum colors were sheer. I had to really push to get color. But the unflattering sheer line that you get finally, does stay on better than average liners. Anyways, I actually prefer Makeup Forever normal eye pencil in black, because I find it more intense and that lasting power is in my opinion almost as good. Also if you want a really cheap and good liner. Go for Wet n wild Color Icon pencil. I have the color shimmery black and it is truly awesome and pigmented.

I have yet to be impressed with MUFe aqua eyes. This plum tone color is so sheer and it does not show up and I really have to push it. But yeah, the sheer unflattering line that you get, stays on pretty good.

Yes, I agree this is a good really black eye pencil. I received it together with a bunch of other eye pencils and this and Wet N Wild pencil were the standouts. Others were just not really black and they were hard and really did tug my eyelids. So I am gonna look for this one. It does not have a fancy name or anything, but it is nice and pigmented and not too smeary.

I am surprised over this pencil. I was not expecting anything. I got it in a swap together with other pencils, like Lorac and Laura Mercier and Estee Lauder. This one is the best and most pigmented and true black of all and it lasts longer that MAC kohl also. Wow. I am realy impressed and I think it is the best pencil liner I have used. It is also very true black compared to most other kohls out there.
I received a sample of this product. I have normal skin, with no dryness nor greasiness, I have few lines on my forehead that are not too deep. I have previously found that thinner foundations look better on my skin and thicker foundations seem to age me. I am currently using Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and I am very happy with it. Clarins Extra Firming foundation is too thick for me and it feels heavy on the skin and looks too much like a mask making the skin to loose its natural glow. This foundation covers really well for a liquid foundation, just like MAC Studio Finish liquid foundation and Diorskin Forever. But compared to Dior and MAC foundations this one has even heavier texture and it feels more greasy. This one is guite similarly thick as Clinique Dewy Smooth Anti Ageing foundation. I really do not understand how these thick textures are going to make anyone look younger. Thats false marketing. My mother says also that thicker foundations only make her look older while she is glowing in tinted moisturizers.
I also have the shade "Golden Light". I would never have chosen this shade by myself as I always tend to go for more ruddy and dark tones that always look too obvious. I went to Amsterdam for a trip and decided to Stop by in Bijenkorf department store there because thats one of the few places in Netherlands where they sell Bobbi Brown. First I browsed the items by myself but then the makeup artist finished up with the customer and I asked him to give me advice with finding a good foundation shade. He removed all my makeup and started over and the closest match for me was Porcelain. In my opinion though it can be a little light but the other one was way too yellow. So knowing my foundation shade now I can talk about the bronzer which is amazing shade and so natural. It is way lighter than what I would ever have chosen but it is still not yellow. It gives me some contours so easily and I look just beautiful with it without looking too made up. I do not need to spend ages with blending and also this seems to last very long time on my skin and has never irritated my skin like MAC bronzer did. I also add a little bit of "washed rose" shimmer blush and I look perfect. I do not even own any other blush or bronzer anymore, because I just dont need to!
Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow - Sapphire #10
glitteradi 4/11/2011 2:36:00 PM
This is a gorgeous and dramatic dark shimmery blue. It goes on pigmented but it fades really quickly. I always use something as a base. Nowadays I prevent creasing with Bobbi Brown Long lasting cream shadow. I like that shadow because I never get creases with it but it did not stop this shimmer wash shadow disappearing. I never have this disappearing problem with MAC shadows, which stay on intensely all day long.
I am trying to switch to Bobbi Brown makeup but I doubt that Ill ever switch to her shadows. I love Ricepaper, to me, looking it in its pan, it really does look like it is easy to dupe, but why in earth I have never able to find another perfect nude shade like this? It has just enough glow to keep it from looking dull, yet it is not too frosty to make one look too madeup and it has the most amazing pigment. It really brightens my pale eye skin NW 15 or 20 really well. I have tried the creme of the creme shadows by brands like Shu Uemura, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Nars, Chanel and Dior, and cheap ones but I have never came across something quite as exceptionel as this shade. I like this better than Jest too even though I used to think Jest is the best for nude look, but it is really a little bit more frosty than Ricepaper. In my opinion, MAC has the best shadows.
