Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Scandal Eyes- Bulletproof Beige
glamstep 3/12/2013 11:25:00 PM
These are new eyeshadow stick in a pencil crayon form, much like NYX jumbo eye pencils or Milani Shadow Eyez 12 hr wear pencils, that all require sharpening. These claim to be 24 hr wear & are waterproof. Comes in 9 shades witness white, bulletproof beige, bad bronze, guilty grey, tempting turquoise, paranoid purple, gossip green, blackmail, blamed blue; the names basically give away the shades. Being a sucker for neutral everyday shades I picked up bullet proof -a shimmery beige. Milani's champagne toast is more pink, Maybelline color tattoo in barely beige is more silver while Rimmel's is more of a gold undertone. There creamy, blendable and good pigmentation but the wear wasn't on par with Milani. It didn't crease as much as the NYX pencils but creased and faded majorly without a primer. I had my MAC prolong wear concealer on my lids, which usually does the trick for me, as I don't have particularly oily lids but this just melted unevenely throughout the day. I wore it with UDPP the next day & still smudged & I had a major crease; not multiple lines like the day before but still very obvious. And there also no wear near waterproof, simple water & napkin wipes them right off, no makeup remover/cleanser needed. The wear was a deal breaker for me. I've been wearing it close to my lash line right above some liquid liner (far far away from my natural crease) and it seems to hold up better.

Eyes -NYX - Wonder Pencil
glamstep 3/12/2013 9:48:00 PM
Concealer. Eye Brightener. Reverse Lip Liner in ONE. NYX has once again released an affordable, high quality product. Ive been on a whim for flesh toned liners for quite some time now, ex-user of MAC chromographic NW20, then moved on to Hard Candy concealer pencil (comes in same box as Glamoflauge concealer) and my most recent find Rimmel Scandal eyes Nude. I purchased 2 out of the 3 shades available-Light & Medium (also comes in Dark) since ULTA is having BOGO. Medium is a dead on dupe for Rimmel's Nude, while the Light is more of a beigey white. I prefer Rimmel's nude for my waterline as its more creamier, glides on & is just more soft/comfortable. These wonder pencils texture is more dry/waxy which makes it better for concealing. I enjoy the precise point tip for covering scars/moles flawlessly. I top off with powder and it stays put all day (My skindinavia setting spray also adds to longevity Im sure) The Medium shade is closest to my skintone-NC25. Im using the Light underneath my eyebrows & below my lower lashes to brighten up those areas & continuing Rimmel for the waterline. Packaging is decent-true pencil, no retractor tip so requires periodic sharpening. The dark solid black cap hides the color of the tip but the shade is the same as the pencil's color itself, it even has a clear plastic wrap on top to prevent swatching prior to purchase. Although I don't use it for reverse lip lining as much it does help with feathering when I do a bolder lip. Im not sure about the 3 in 1 claim as Im not comfortable covering acne with a pencil & then swiping the same tip on my waterline. But for under $5 a piece + ds deals, its worth investing in 2 separate ones. You could of course wipe off/sharpen in between different areas if you only wanted one. For the quality & multipurpose-ness of this pencil its a bargain. I love the ease of throwing this in an overcrowded makeup bag or secretly tucking in the slim pencil in my pocket to quickly do a natural touch up. Already a daily staple.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Kate Moss 113
glamstep 3/10/2013 2:35:00 PM
Surprised not to see this up on MUA yet, but I predict it will get popular veryy soon! This is probably one of my favorite peachy beige nude lipsticks from the ds right now! I can't lay my finger on which HE/MAC lippie its a dupe for but Im sure someone will figure it out & post it. Be aware the shade may be too light/washed out concealer like for fair skintones (try #101 then its a cool toned rosy everyday pink) but for my NC25 shade this is just peachy. Im loving the numbered sticker on the bottom of the tube, its dead on to a real swatch--hopefully keeps grimy fingers off!. Anyways I love the matte creamy finish, apparently has ruby powder to stay on intensely all day?! Its also quite hydrating, not your average matte lippie & altho its semi-opaque (can be sheered down & fine lines will peek through) it doesn't look pasty with too few/too many layers. The scent is also awful, fruity melon but thankfully evaporates in 30 secs. This one is definetly a hit in my collection, with so many looks day/night, different liners & glosses its getting ALOT of wear already.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible in Amber Rush
glamstep 3/10/2013 2:14:00 PM
Beautiful rose gold shimmer shade, if your looking for an accurate swatch just hold a PENNY up; its the exact shade. I wish this line (& this shade particularly) would have a matte finish version, as the frosty metallic reflective property of this line highlights the creases/wrinkles? on my eyelids making them look droopy :/ I can work with this if I use it only in the center of the eye lid & use matte shades in the crease/outer third & then wear a thick liner on the upper lash line. The formula otherwise is phenomenal, non-messy, stay put loose shadow all day even without a primer. This may be unhygienic I know; but I can't help but simply stick my finger in & swipe it on, its sooo quick & easy. Cant wait to use this more in the warmer days & feel like a bronzed goddess!

Lipstick -Milani - Color Statment-Naturally Chic
glamstep 3/10/2013 2:00:00 PM
LOVE the formula of this one, the shade is pretty but not what I was expecting. These are Milani's new rave-a lightweight moisturizing formula with Vitamin A,C,E. Its true this never dried out/filled lines on my overtly chapped lips, its a full coverage creamy texture that stains your lips. Its not sitting on top as a coat/balm feel, it sinks in without exaggerating any lip deformities even over time. Im SO so SO impressed with this one & can't wait to hunt down the Nude cream which I think I'll enjoy more. I thought this was going to be a soft nude, everyday brown shade but its an intense matte mauve, with reddish undertones & a cream sheen finish. I do like it for my bolder days (Im into barely there lips looks, most are too cool/loud for my NC25 skin). This gives my face a boost in the winter pale droomy days, I just don't reach it for it as much since its not an everyday' MLBB kind of lippie for me.

Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (color 001)
glamstep 3/7/2013 11:59:00 PM
ONE THIRD of this will go to waste because the pump design is simply made inefficient. The primer eventually stops coming out & no tilting/shaking/readjusting can change that. No matter how great the product itself is, being on a budget this is most definetly a deal breaker for me. Having said, that the 2/3 I did use, I enjoyed. The texture is different then most primers, its not as siliconey to the touch. Its more like a thicker lotion that emulsifies as you apply it, leaving a very non-sticky, non-shiny matte finish. It did a great job at filling in my forehead & frown lines. My pores were minimized around my nose, but not did not completely vanish, which was also a disappointment since that is more of a concern for me personally. The pump disperses a small amount & so I would usually need 2 pumps to do the areas mentioned. I liked the clear bottle as I could keep track of when I was running out, unfort I never got to that & could only stare from afar to the primer being lost. Thought I'd clean the container out & use with some other ds foundations that are pump less but great, but the pump didn't twist open to even clean (or use!) the inside out. Such a shame! :O

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection Lipstick in Delish
glamstep 3/7/2013 11:43:00 PM
FINALLY a warm undertone nude, that manages to remain so without crossing into the mocha/brown dark shades. The shade is a beautiful peachy tan. Its opaque, creamy (glides on, no gritty/drag) & is 100 % matte. The formula is also amazinggg, instead of fading throughout the day, it sort of stains my lips. I can see the color peek through even after eating/drinking. (No settling into lines or making that obvious indent on the lower lip when product collects there) I also find layering can really change the look of this lippie. I usually just dab it in the center then smack my lips together to get a soft, warm glow (NC25 here btw). But I can really intensify & brighten my face by swiping it on my full lips. Also love the genius packaging that hopefully prevents slimy people from wanting to yank open the tube, the shade is displayed at the bottom. Now only if I can manage to find a warm toned baby pink with NO blue undertones, my life would be complete!

Lipstick -Hard Candy - Perfect 10
glamstep 3/7/2013 11:24:00 PM
MLBB sheer, glossy lipstick. Its moisturizing, sheen finish and soft mocha nude. Found this on amazon & have been throwing it in my bag since. Its a quick easy daily color, that goes with almost any look. Cons-too soft, broke it while I was twisting it down & it can almost look as if Im wearing a clear balm instead (the color is veryy sheer & almost too natural looking).

Moisturizers -Sephora - Age Defy Moisture Cream SPF 15
glamstep 3/7/2013 11:13:00 PM
I actually quite enjoyed my sample product & had I not an entire collection of other samples I would go out and repurchase this. I found it practically odorless, creamy, lightweight & just the right amount of moisture. My skin drank it up, without leaving it greasy or still dry patchy --veryy similar to my Embryolisse Lait creme. I didn't have the balling issues, mentioned here as a matter of fact this gave a good smooth base for my using CG 3 in 1 foundation. The spf isnt too impressive & I can't say about the age defying differences either but how much I religiously reached for this (for enjoyment purposes not to simply use it up)-surprised me.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Nude Delight
glamstep 3/5/2013 11:20:00 PM
Dare I call this a dupe for MAC's shygirl??? This is a peachy nude, sheen finish, semi-opaque lipstick. Its quite moisturizing and has the slightest scent (nothing like the newer Kate Moss line) that vanishes in no time. Im an NC25 and my lips are not very pigmented so the color appears much brighter then the images here; a true peach but not in your face orange. Its not like a concealer on your lips and definetly not too brown/mocha either. Its just right. Finally a ds lippie that doesn't wash me out & actually suits my warm undertones. A flattering fresh every day color, that'll be even more perfect for spring.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
glamstep 3/4/2013 10:53:00 PM
Ive never even been a uber fan of the infamous CG lash blast, let alone other CG items and mind you Im a regular drugstore junkie until this recent shocking find. I have NEVER found a better matching foundation, this rivals L'oreal true match & MAC studio fix fluid for me but is actually better. It has the natural look, light breathable feel of L'oreal but the coverage, texture & longevity of MAC; its incredible. Now for the trickiest part of DS foundations, the gamble on shades. Im a true NC25 & last I remember L'oreal TM W4 with warm yellow undertones. The shades I picked were recommended on MUA & closest to my shade that I could eyeball & were initially these 3: -Buff Beige -Nude Beige -Medium Beige (HINT: Don't go by the numbers as there different at each drugstore & even the CG website! Make sure you read the names instead) BB & NB are nearly identical. I had to check in a magnifying mirror in direct sunlight to see that 1 had oxidized more on my skin then the other. BB was a tinyy bit lighter in shade & left my skin a bit ashy/pink grey cast, best for NW20 with cool/neutral undertones. MB went on yellow & matched my skin exactly but oxidized even more and left an orange hue, cool undertones; IMO best for NW25. NB was (drumroll please) perfect to the T! So much that I could cover only my problem areas (lets say half my cheek that has hyper-pigmentation/scars) and let the other side breathe & go undetectable!!!!!! Ive been dying to use Lisa Eldridge's yt video on acne/blemish covering up foiundation application. Over 2 yrs later, CG 3 in 1 is letting me master this technique. So ladies, if youv'e struggled with finding your match in ds names like Revlon cs/whipped or even have found it but want something that looks naked & airbrushed then gives this a try. You can really sheer this out like a TM or layer it up for full coverage. Has a semi-matte finish, that doesn't get blotchy, oily or exaggerate fine lines/dry patches. Has a lovely pump & great variety of shades with alternating undertones for each. And yes Ive been skipping my primer & settting spray for now; Ill have to update more in the warmer months.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude
glamstep 3/4/2013 7:53:00 PM
MAC Chromograph pencils & Hard Candy concealer pencils move over there's a newer, more affordable just as good dupe in town. This is the exact color of my NW20 & HC in Medium pencil that I use to wake up my tired red eyes. Its a nude, not too yellow/pink/white, its just right. It fades evenly in my waterline in 4-6 hrs, which I don't mind as I only expect to look as wide awake in the morning hours and naturally grow tired looking throughout the day. This does stay waterproof for the lid area, which I sometimes swipe under the lashes to quickly get rid of mascara/liner smudge-junk from the night before & run out. Works lovely around the lips, that I usually trace before a bold look; makes them look more full & flawless. Cant get enough uses/wonders out of this gem. Only con-wish it were retractable & not the sharpen kind, but Ill take it!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper Go Nude
glamstep 3/1/2013 4:12:00 PM
Too sheer :/ Im kind of disappointed, since its my first Color Whisper. It has the same consistency (moisture + shine) and slanted rounded tip of the famous Revlon Lip Butters. I was happy to see that Maybelline included more options for softer/nuder/ daily shades then the revlon had, but these colors may lack the punch/intensity of the RLB. I picked this up over Bare to be Bold & and Some like it Taupe. Bare to be bold looked like this exact shade except more opaque & I was afraid that would wash me out with concealer lips. Some like it Taupe is more grey, while this is more peachy nude. Go Nude swatched on my hand to look brighter then RLB Creamsicle but since that one is more opaque/intense cramsicle color translates on my lips while this is just a lightweight, sheen. Packaging is cute, formula is good, no scent earns its 3 lippies.

Blush -Hard Candy - Fox in a Box Smooth Talker
glamstep 1/7/2013 7:46:00 PM
I picked up a few of these Fox In a Box blushes as I heard they were being discontinued & being a beauty lover, had to try them atleast once before there gone for good. Now this one was a sad disappoint unfortunately as I love peachy-nude blushes, but this just gives you that in a sheen not color payoff. Label this as a highlight & Ill add the lippies, not as a blush. I can stab & swirl my fingers in the box and then swatch on NC25 skin & poof it just vanishes :(

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush #127 Honeymoon
glamstep 1/7/2013 7:33:00 PM
I don't know if this product has been repackaged/renamed or what because there is NO peach in this shade at all. The blush labeled "honeymoon" that I picked up looks like image 2 here, a cool toned baby pink that translates to a lavender sheen on me (has silver reflects). It works perfectly as a highlight or blush topper, not a stand alone blush. The pink is soo subtle (doesn't show up on my NC25 skin) even when applied with a heavy hand. IMO Its like a powder/baked version of Benefit high beam.Pretty but I wish it was the peachy first image shown here instead.
