Styling Products -Aveda - Phomollient

While I love the smell of Shampure, I loathe this scent. It is about just as bad as the Color Conserve smell. I was assured that it was not minty, but it reeks of mint and stale grass. The hold is very light, not crunchy (which is good), but at the $, I want some hold. I think I will stick with Vavoom or better yet-Herbal Essences Body Envy for $3.00 a bottle- nearly 5 TIMES CHEAPER!!!!

Styling Products -Clairol - Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray

The best drugstore shampoo and one of the best overall. I love the clean fresh smell, and the hold is impressive. I have bleached hair and all of the Herbal Essences products have worked great-including the Body Envy shampoo which I really think makes my color look brighter.

Styling Products -Matrix - Vavoom Freezing Spray

I also think this is a wonderful spray. It smells great to me, just a clean freshy non-perfumey smell. The hold is just right, as it delivers a fine-mist w/out being too heavy or sticky. I have been using Vavoom since 1991, and I would not and could not be without it!

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Pleasures Exotic

I get NO fruity with this-just something that is way too old-even for an older gal like me-It is so strong and nasty that even after 1 spritz on my arm and 4 washes later, it still lingered on. It smells really nice on some, but I can't stand to wear something that strong.

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion with SPF 15 and Antioxidants
geographer 9/3/2008 10:14:00 AM
Finally I have found my favorite sunscreen. I have gotten so tired of putting my usual Olay Complete on, and then a couple of hours later, feeling like I am sweating all over my face. I literally felt like I had to scrub my face to stop that greasy, yucky feeling. This one is excellent. My face feels very clean -even under my makeup. And it lasts ALL day. I also love the pump dispenser.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
geographer 9/3/2008 10:05:00 AM
I don't like the scent in Biosilk, nor the high alcohol content which dries my hair out. It also builds up and feels very greasy and coated. The best "silk" stuff out there is Aveda Smoothing Fluid and Kenra Platinum Silkening Gloss.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Sensuous
geographer 9/1/2008 6:05:00 PM
Ever since I smelled this, I have been in heaven-it is very hard to describe, because it is not quite floral, not quite fruity, not quite sweet, etc. It is truly unique. To me, it smells very clean and fresh. This is one perfume that is not a copycat of anything else out there. It doesn't fall into a particular category, and therefore, some may not readily accept it. In my opinion, Sensous is "classy in a bottle". As soon as there is a GWP, I am going to have my excuse to buy it.

Fragrances -Lancome - Magnifique

This has got to be my least favorite Lancome fragrance, right up there w/Miracle Forever. I know that liking a perfume is very subjective, but this REEKS. It smells like body odor or bug spray to me. I don't get any "notes" what so ever-just stale odor. Thank goodness I just used the tester.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Quantum Reconstructing Conditioner with EQL 3+ Complex
geographer 8/23/2008 12:21:00 AM
I really used to like this product-even the whole Quantum line. My hairdresser used to use this after she colored my hair. However, they changed the wonderful fragrance a couple years ago-it used to smell SO good. Now it just smells like cherry cough medicine. I am so disappointed. I think the formula has changed as well.

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - High Resolution Eye with Collaser-48
geographer 7/31/2008 10:41:00 PM
I really have done a 360 on this product. At first, I didn't think it was doing anything, then I realized it was working after time. I have no problems w/the pump packaging, and it usually lasts me 4-5 months. It does not give me any milia under my eyes, and I notice no fragrance or irritation. I really feel that it is improving my fine lines. The last time I bought it, the saleswoman said they were rechanging the formula, so I bought 2 of these just in case I don't like the new formula. This is just about the only Lancome product that I like and can use, and I wouldn't be without it. EDIT 7/9/08: I have to say that while I still purchase this, I do not like the new formula as much, and the biggest problem is the bottle. For example, I just bought a new one 2 weeks ago, and the pump is already clogged. Either it is clogged, or there is not even enough product in the .5 oz that cost me $59. I think I am going to have to keep searching for something else because there should be no reason this is happening after 2 weeks. Same thing happened a couple of months ago.

Powder -Merle Norman - Luxiva Purely Mineral Makeup
geographer 7/25/2008 11:40:00 PM
I really changed my mind about this product. It took me awhile to find the right shade (I now use 2 shades together), but the quality of this makeup far surpasses any other mineral or liquid foundation out there. It feels light on my face, yet provides enough coverage for broken capillaries, blackheads, etc. I also like the fact that it doesn't emphasize pores like Bare Escentuals did for me. In addition, the big container will last for months and months-you definitely will get your $ worth.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
geographer 7/24/2008 11:16:00 PM
Like a previous reviewer, this lotion was too heavy for me. I started off w/the 1% gel and it worked for a while, but then it seemed it wasn't strong enough. This stuff felt too greasy on me, so I moved on to the 2% liquid, which works MUCH better. It does take a bit to get used to the consistency, but I like it the best.

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Dumb Blonde conditioner
geographer 6/20/2008 12:40:00 AM
I think this product has a cutesy name, smells great (they changed the fragrance a couple years ago), and has a great concept, but it fails my hair every time. It coats each strand, making my dyed, bleached hair feel so greasy that I have to wash it again. This is no different than any drugstore conditioner you can get a whole lot cheaper.

Moisturizers -Purpose - Dual Treatment Moisture Lotion with spf 15
geographer 5/31/2008 9:54:00 AM
I used to love this moisturizer-apparently the formula has changed. Now it is greasy, makes my face way too shiny, and also causes some breakouts.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
geographer 5/31/2008 9:44:00 AM
I was hesitant at first because it is just so watery, but it is a "liquid" so I have been using it faithfully every night. It really helps me with my pore size, as well as any new pimples that might be starting. Also, this stuff has been fading this one large cystice pimple scar I had on my cheek! My skin cannot tolerate AHA's (it burns my skin and actually causes more acne), so I am in heaven w/this stuff!
