Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Fireball

i've been wanting to try red lipstick lately (if im brave enough to wear it) and i found fireball on sale for €1.70. if it doens't work on me at least it was dirt cheap. i like the texture. its smooth, creamy and applies nicely on the lip. the color is a really lovely red and has lots of pigment. however, i can definitely detect some orange on this one and it also made my teeth look kinda yellow. i'm sure this will look lovely on someone with the right skin tone.

a must have neutral. its a shimmery light brown shade with coppery tone to it. a shade you can wear for a natural daytime look or mix with darker shade of brown for a soft smoky eyes. it's very smooth and easy to apply.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Vanilla
rated 5 of 5

vanilla made me feel so much better after a huge disappointment with "frost". i got this in charm size which was actually quite big than what i expected and oh how i love this color. very simple yet versatile. definitely one of those shade that has many use. those who complained that this has lots of glitter, try "frost" and you'll know what glitter is all about. vanilla is a neutral shimmery off-white with a very very subtle gold tone. very smooth and easy to apply. you wont see any flecks of micro glitter on this, just a lovely shimmer and iridescence. TIP: dab a very tiny amount of this on the "v" shape in the middle of your upper lip and it will make your lips look fuller.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Frost
rated 1 of 5

my first mac pigment and sadly i didn't like this one. i got this from a local bidding website (like ebay sort of) and it was pretty cheap, €3.85 including the shipping for i think about 1/4 tsp sample size. i thought i will try some first and see which color are nice and worth buying. and the frost? well, i know the color is called frost but i find it too frosty it almost looks like silver. it has lots of shimmer and loads of micro glitter. but hey its called frost so i guess thats how this "pigment" is supposed to be so i cant really complain. i like shimmery iridescent stuff but i'm not sure about glittery stuff. i guess they are great if you're 16 or 18 but i think it's tasteless for someone who is 25 or over. like a lot of reviews have mentioned, this one is chunky and hard to apply. it ended up all over my face when i tried to put it on my eyelid but i found out that it adheres to the skin better if applied with a wet brush and also makes the color more vivid. but after few minutes it was again all over the rest of my eye area where it was not supposed to be and on my cheeks. i wouldn't have mine if can leave it there as a highlighter but i wouldn't even consider using this as a highlighter. the glitters are too obvious it will just make me look like i tried so hard. personally i find this color to be quite cheap. this is probably good if you want to pull off that very glittery frosty "ice queen" or porn star-ish kind of a look but thats not what i had in my mind when i bought this. i have other colors coming to try (Coco, Tan, Teal and Vanilla) and i hope they are better but for sure this is my first and last encounter with frost.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Colour Surge Lip Lacquer- Sultry Splash
rated 3 of 5
foxykitty25 12/17/2007 12:50:00 PM

hate to rain the parade but i was not impressed with this. it sure does give my lips a beautiful shine and gloss without looking over the top but its either this hardly have any pigment or maybe the color just perfectly matches my lips coz all i can see is glossy lips, no color whatsoever. i would like to see even just a bit color but nope. if all i get from this is the glossiness then theres a lot of cheaper alternative.

i love this cleanser. now i actually dont have to blot my oily t-zone by midday coz i dont look so oily anymore. i use this cleanser everyday in combination with the olay age defying cream and my HG avon pore-fection mask once a week and it made my face so clean and clear i cant even remember how my skin used to look like. oh and the pump dispenser is very convenient.

Lipstick -Boots - No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
foxykitty25 10/30/2007 1:01:00 PM

i was not actually planning on buying a lipstick when i bought this but it was on sale for €3 so i thought what the hell. i got this in "chic" and its a beautiful pinky-brown shade of nude, or at least it looks nude-ish on me coz its close to the natural color of my lips with just the perfect hint of pink. it's feels very soft and creamy when applied and has a matte finish so i just top it off with some clear lip gloss if i want to look glossy. "moisture drench" is probably a bit of an overstatement coz i dont find it to be super moisturizing however it does not dry out my lips either.

Mascara -Maybelline - Illegal Lengths Mascara
rated 2 of 5
foxykitty25 10/3/2007 12:17:00 PM

i dont know what kind of lengthening people are fuzzing about coz this actually did nothing to my short, poker straight eyelashes. for a mascara to actually lenghten my eyelashes would be an ultimate test and this one didn't passed. absolutely did nothing except coat my eyelashes and made them look darker. does not even hold a curl but does the opposite. i never really liked maybelline mascaras and this was no exception. but in fairness, this is one of the least clumpy mascara i have used.

Liquid -Maybelline - Pure Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
foxykitty25 9/23/2007 1:33:00 PM

i never thought my oily face could actually stay matte for hours wearing a foundation. my face ALWAYS looks greasy within 5 mins of applying a foundation even with those that says to be "oil-free". but not with maybelline pure makeup. it claims to be 50% water and oil free and thats mainly the reason why i tried this. my skin is very prone to clogging and blackheads. everytime i have to wear a foundation i cant wait to wash it off my face and i can always expect clogged pores and few blackheads afterwards but again not with pure make-up. if you're used to wearing thick coverage foundation then you will find this a little too sheer but thats exactly what i want and one of the things i like about this foundation. i cant stand looking too made up and chalky. the only complain i have is that the color doesnt match with my skin tone hence the 4 lippie. had to mix two shades to get the right color but i can live with that.

Eye Makeup Remover -Nivea - Gentle Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5
foxykitty25 9/23/2007 9:17:00 AM

i'm reviewing the "extra gentle" and for water soluble make up and i'm surprised by the negative reviews. i dont know if my eye make up is too light or this eye make up remover really does a good job coz 2 swipes are enough to take off at least 95% off my eye make up. doesn't sting or cause any irritation to my eyes. i rarely wear a full make up and when i do i only use my facial cleanser and water to take my make up off and i find myself going over twice on my eyes to completely remove my eye make up as they don't easily come off. so i thought i'd try using an eye make up remover and i'm quite satisfied with this. but then again, i dont have much experience with make up removers and haven't use other brands to compare this with. but overall, i dont think its as bad as the reviews says. unless of course you wear 5 coats of water proof mascara and a thick layer of eyeshadow on a daily basis then i can totally understand that.

Treatments -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream
rated 4 of 5
foxykitty25 9/20/2007 2:31:00 PM

i was using paula's choice 2% BHA prior to this and while PC did a good job on improving the overall appearance of my skin, i just can no longer tolerate the dryness and flakiness it's causing to my skin. so i looked for an alternative and tried Olay and i'm so glad i did. with this i got same result with PC but WITHOUT the dryness. i've been using this for 2 weeks now and my skin's moisture balance is gradually getting back to normal. im not going to say this gave me a perfect porcelain like skin but my skin definitely looked better if i use this compared to when im not. my pores are less clogged, skin is more even toned and a lot less oily. the milia that i've had for ages near the under eye are also slowly but surely disappearing.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Body Emulsion
rated 4 of 5
foxykitty25 9/18/2007 2:41:00 PM

its getting colder which also translates to skin getting drier. ditched my summer lotion and decided to give this a try and i love it. moisturizes really well without greasiness. it doesn't just sit on top of the skin but instead it gets easily absorbed leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. however i only gave 4 lippies coz i prefer my body lotion to have a pleasant smell. im not saying this lotion stinks but the smell is very mild and faint its almost fragrance free. but i can forgive that coz i like the way it moisturizes my skin and the pump bottle is very convenient.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Oreal - Nutrisoft bodylotion
rated 3 of 5
foxykitty25 9/14/2007 1:36:00 PM

average lotion but it smells nice and doest feel greasy. did not really thought about buying it but it was on sale for €5 for a 400ml bottle so i thought i'd try it and used it all through out summer when i dont need that much moisturizer. i still have a little bit of it now that its early autumn and i can already tell that its not moisturizing enough now that its getting colder coz my skin is starting to feel a bit dryer and itchy. its a decent lotion if you have normal skin but not good enough for winter dry skin.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
rated 1 of 5
foxykitty25 9/13/2007 12:37:00 PM

thick! just too thick it wont even spread very well. its like spreading a glue into your skin. i cant imagine people putting this onto their face. as far as moisturizing is concern, i'm not impressed either. there are a lot of others products out there that moisturizes just as well if not even better without having to put up with the thickness.

Blush -The Body Shop - Cheek Colour - 04 Golden Pink
rated 2 of 5
foxykitty25 9/10/2007 1:25:00 PM

i got this in the cream version, the one in the tube instead of the pot. i dont know if the pot is any better but the one in the tube is just really another shade of a blush. its not an ugly color, just nothing special or fabulous IMHO. just like the reviews says, its a pinky peach shade loaded with lots of glitter and thats the part that i cant stand. it's not shimmery, but GLITTERY. i'm not so keen on looking like a disco ball. and the price is outrageously expensive. €15 for an 8ml tube? sheesshh. what's the body shop thinking? but i'm not really surprised though. i've always thought their products are over priced.
