Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes
foxieq 5/18/2009 3:59:00 AM
The idea of an easy, totally-cleansing wipe at the end of the day is quite seductive - and the fact that these come in giganto-packs for pretty cheap is just as enticing. So of course I have to try these - the others ones being store brand version of Pond's, Pond's, dollar store versions (Epielle is highly recommended if you even come across it). This is a revised review, I believe someone replied to me "soapy" comment and perhaps I need to clarify. For me, it was quite soapy in that it let a clean, yet somewhat tacky residue after I gave my face a cleaning. I always felt I needed to wait for it to dry - or wipe off said residue, and put on a moisturizer afterward, which clearly defeats the purpose of these cloths. In general I like these wipes for if I mess up my makeup, I can have more control by using it on the direct spot. They do a good job of removing makeup. For waterproof eyeliner and heavier makeup in general I prefer a special makeup remover, but these do well when I'm tired and want to just go to sleep. Therefore I keep them right next to the bed.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Loose Eyeshadow Powder in Golden Green
foxieq 5/3/2009 2:38:00 AM
I thought this would be perfect on me, really. I ordered it online. I love greens, and with the gold hints would look good with my complexion. I thought this actually really made me look a bit dirty! It didn't show up very green on my lids - more like a brown with some green in it. Bummed out, I later tried it with a base and it worked a lot better. I guess the trick is to layer it to really get the green, because when it's sheer, you'll look dirty as f*ck!

Lip Gloss -Aziza - lipgloss palette - 5 colors
foxieq 5/3/2009 2:34:00 AM
Oh my god. This is an AMAZING lip palette and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. I had no idea what possessed me to buy it in a DOLLAR STORE, but I'm so glad that I did. There are five colors (like the reviewer described below): a deep true muted magenta, orangey color, bright (almost neon) pink similar to the BBW Alice in Wonderland Tardy lip gloss, the milky light pink, and a clear one with sparkle. From the outside, surprisingly, the colors look a lot different on the inside. I imagined they would be hard and would need to be scraped off, but upon touch they melted into a pleasant gloss. Nice! I tried the orange first, expecting the first. It turned out looking AMAZING on me (I apologize for my lack of modesty) and is definitely one of my favorite shades. It's nice and thick but really blends with your lips. I tried the hot pink next, but I found I really couldn't pull it off with my new ready-for-summer tan. The milky pink I knew wouldn't be wonderful and even tried to use it as an eyeshadow, but it was too thick and sticky. While that happened, the color sunk in and actually became quite pleasant - I imagine with light application it could be actually nice. The clear is clear - nuff said. I tried the deep pink last, for some reason, and it comes out really true to the color in the palette. Here's where it gets genius...lol. I layered the milky pink over the deep pink and you get a super shiny, multi-faceted, perfectly balanced, multi-faceted pink. Super win! $.20 a shade? Doesn't get much better than that. I will definitely stock up on these.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Discovery Mascara
foxieq 5/3/2009 2:04:00 AM
The small-brush gimmick worked on me. Every lash! Wow! After getting frustrated with barely-there lashes, I finally mastered what this mascara should really be used for (in my case). After I apply a mascara, I use this as a second coat to get the fine lashes I missed. Wiping the brush off it also useful in removing excess clumping and separating/shaping lashes. I can imagine how this would be good for bottom lashes, but since I'm teary I would probably need the waterproof version of this for it.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Designer Chocolates Quad
foxieq 5/3/2009 1:59:00 AM
This makes my Velvet Crush quad look like heaven. It seems the only shimmery shade, or so it appears, is the "crease" color which is a light brown with a rosy hint in it. Generally reddish colors don't look great on medium-golden-tan skin, so it was tricky for me (and saddening because I love shimmer more than anything else in the world). Generally I use the darkest shade of the quad most because the rest of the shades don't provide much drama, but the brown in this one was rather smudgy and super matte, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I love browns and prefer others to this palette.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers - Cool Cocoa Mint Splash
foxieq 5/3/2009 1:46:00 AM
I fall into the Asian complexion category in between fair and dark, and my skin is noticeably more pale in the cold seasons and more tan in the warmer ones. After getting this in the "Chocolate Strawberries" CG combo pack and reading the rave reviews, I decided I would try it. Of course I tried this during one of my more "pale" times, and it looked like a sheer brown layer over my lips, so I figured I'd give it to one of my friends. Of course when I tried it when I was tan it looked so much better. I have naturally pinkish lips and this gave it a deeper bronze glow. For me, no matter how my skin is looking, it's not one of those lip glosses you can just slick on in a moment's notice because if I get some on my skin you can tell. Weirdly enough, even though it's good, I'm not sure I would buy it again for that very reason. However, I'll say "yes" because I don't want to ruin the statistics for a lip gloss that is perfect for a lot of people.

Polishes -Sinful - Nail Polish (all colors)
foxieq 3/1/2009 3:18:00 PM
When these go on B1G1 at Walgreens, they come to about $1 each, and because this is such a steal, I've bumped it to four lippies when I thought it deserved a 3.5. You need a really, really good basecoat and topcoat. The nail brush on these could definitely be better, it naturally goes on a bit thick, so try to make your layers as thin as possible. The colors are super pretty but don't last by itself. That is why I have one salon-strength basecoat and topcoat and about 15 of these colors!

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Goldie Alice in Wonderland Lip Condition in Tardy
foxieq 2/19/2009 12:58:00 AM
B&BW was having a 90% sale on these, so it was pretty much a given for only $1.50. Tardy looks like a bright pink in the adorable looking domed packaging, but I applied it and it came out very, very sheer. It wasn't what I expected in the color, but it still looked really nice - nude with the perfect tint of pink. My lips were pretty smooth, so I don't know much about how this fares as a balm. I really enjoyed it - it went in great, feels really soft, not sticky at all.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad - Precious Metals
foxieq 1/23/2009 1:00:00 AM
I have problems with quads where one color is particularly hard to pull of on me, but with this all the shades were perfect for the trendy metallic look. I even used the gold as a highlighter for my face and body. It was really easy to apply - I tried using a brush for some reason, but of course that wouldn't work so I dunno what I was thinking. But I really liked the look and sprinkling shimmer on top made the colors even more rich and lustrous. I highly recommend it even for use on a normal basis!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Taylor - White Diamonds

Can we say this product is past its prime, had its time? I guess a more mature woman like my grandma would like this. I just find myself referencing it whenever there is a pungent, old-people smell. I got this as a giftset, pretty irrelevant for my age in my opinion. Knowing how it smells, I regifted it to none other than my great aunt. She loved it! Whoopee!

Fragrances -Mary Kate and Ashley - coast-to-coast NYC
foxieq 1/23/2009 12:54:00 AM
This is definitely the "warmer" of the two. It's like With Love Hilary Duff and Lovely SJP compared to Ralph Ralph Lauren and Cool Water. It smells floral but a somewhat more spicy floral, like a rose or something. I like LA a lot more than this one, but for this I like to mix with Tommy Hilfiger TRUE STAR so that coolness balances out the rich scent of this for a really nice blend. Highly recommended, a good buy for the price!

Fragrances -Mary Kate and Ashley - Coast to Coast LA
foxieq 1/23/2009 12:50:00 AM
I was searching for something really cheap and decent smelling to spray my closet (I was going for an Abercrombie-Hollist effect). I picked this up at WalMart for $7 for 1.7 oz and fell in love with the scent. Soon I wore it everyday! People would seriously ask me what I was wearing and to say Mary Kate & Ashley was pretty weird. They didn't even believe me, so I guess it doesn't matter. It just smells really nice and fresh and floral, and it's of course a great value because even at retail alone it doesn't sell for as much as the "upscale" ones.

Fragrances -Paris Hilton - All Products
foxieq 1/23/2009 12:46:00 AM
I remember when this first came out and Paris was having a party where she was giving these "exclusively" out. I was like ugh...Paris. So when it trickled into department stores I hated to admit that I really, really liked it. It wasn't overpowering, but it smelled feminine but with a cool touch. It's hard to explain, but following the footsteps of Curious full sizes and gift sets went to discount stores like Ross and Marshalls and TJ Maxx for $30, so I picked it up immediately. For prices like that and a scent I love, you really can't beat that. I just wish it would last a bit longer like Ralph, but just at least spray it on your pulse points and you'll be good!

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks Fruit Spritzers - Strawberry Splash (540)
foxieq 1/23/2009 12:38:00 AM
I like the formula which isn't too thick but not too runny either. The color is really nice, how there is a subtle sparker and a sheer red tint. However I'm not a huge fan of the fact that the first month it smelled nice and tasted okay, but after that the smell resembles something sort of sour. However I would buy it again! I got it on sale and the tube is a nice big size, obviously I haven't finished using it. You could probably find better for your buck though.

Styling Products -Charles Worthington - Flawless Finish Straightening Balm
foxieq 1/22/2009 8:17:00 PM
The packaging is absolutely gorgeous - light purple with metallic gold trimming? Adorable! Why I don't smell the hair products I buy anymore I don't know - but I really should have because this smell was unbearable. I have a really thick head of hair so naturally I use about twice as much as any other person. Unfortunately, twice the bad smell! It smelled like an old knockoff perfume at the dollar store, but maybe a little bit worse. The product itself did not help in the straightening process, but my hair was smoother and silkier after flat ironing it. But is it worth having to bear the smell and possibly harming others surrounding you in the process? No!
