Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
emgb 4/4/2010 11:29:00 PM
I have been trashing this for awhile because I bought it a long time ago. I don't know why but for some reason, I thought that it didn't work so I just tossed it aside. I started using it again though and actually, it isn't half bad. It works well enough as a finishing powder and seems to control some shine. It's very average but, it works, so I'm fairly impressed. =]

Treatments -LUSH - Grease Lightning Spot Cleanser
emgb 3/10/2010 11:26:00 PM
I think the trick with this to those who are doubtful of it is time. You have to be patient. I didn't see instant results either like some people have, but everyone's skin is different so I wasn't too worried. I didn't expect it to work overnight. It's been a little over a week and I definitely see some improvement. I've never used any kind of Tea Tree product and so far, I like it! It seems to control the oily spots of my face, which are my nose and chin. It has a nice, clean scent. It has dried up a lot of my smaller blemishes and like I said, I just have to give it more time. I will be patient! I think at the rate it has been working, I will see more results eventually. The only really negative thing about it has been the bottle. I have to unscrew the cap and pour it into my hand because the pump doesn't work. Nothing comes out of it. Annoying! Other than that, it seems like an effective product. =]

Other -Crest - Whitestrips
emgb 3/10/2010 12:45:00 AM
Crest Whitestrips = Love. I incessantly drink coffee and sodas to keep me alive throughout the day and the effect it has had on my teeth lately is sad. I bought these on Saturday and have used them daily since then and my teeth look way whiter and brighter already. $20 is pretty reasonable for getting 56 strips and it really can't be necessary to use them every single day. My teeth look great right now so I will maybe just use these twice a week so they will last me for awhile. =)

Mascara -E.L.F. - Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo: Black
emgb 3/9/2010 3:28:00 PM
For one measley dollar, I can't complain about this. You get your money's worth, for sure, haha. It's a very basic black mascara. No frills, fancy brush or any gimmicks. I think it works well enough. It doesn't seem to clump or flake and it does add length. For the price, it's decent. I definitely prefer the Regular formula over the Waterproof one though. That's the part of it that was junk for me.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Nail Color
emgb 2/26/2010 7:47:00 PM
I think they changed the bottles of these. I remember when they looked like the one in the picture but the ones I bought recently are in a much smaller, round bottle. I don't think even half the amount of product you got in the original ones is in this. Too bad! You get what you pay for now, I guess. Haha. I bought this polish in Undercover, Haze of Love and Private Viewing. Undercover is a light mauve shade and Haze of Love is a rusty red shade. Private Viewing is my favorite, it's a really elegant pinkish nude shade. They take a few coats to have an effect but for the price, I can't complain! They seem fairly chip-resistant as far as I can tell. I will purchase again. I want to try the bright purple one next. =)

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Active Daily Moisture Lotion SPF 15 For all Skin types
emgb 2/26/2010 7:39:00 PM
I really loved this for the first week or so of using it, but as of the past few days, it has made me break out really badly. It's really irritating since my skin was starting to clear up a little with my new, attempted regimen. Now it is gross again. =[ It's just too greasy. I will have to go back to the Dove moisturizer I used before that I was sick of, but at least it didn't break me out.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
emgb 2/19/2010 9:28:00 PM
I'm sorry that I ignored this for so long. I'm such a sucker sometimes for cleansers with gimmicks, like the one Neutrogena has right now for redness and the one with the little scrubber attached to it. Ehhhhh! All along I just have needed something really basic, gentle and effective. No fancy commercials or clever packaging. So far, this has been sufficient. It works really well at cleansing away oil and I haven't had problems with dryness so far. I'm curious to see if it will help any with my breakouts, but whether it helps or not, it's still really good for just a basic cleanser for my skin. I think I will purchase it again.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Smooth Mineral Loose Eye Powder Kit
emgb 2/19/2010 9:22:00 PM
I found this at the Dollar Tree like everyone else, and am massively impressed. I bought it in Black Onyx and good heavens, it is black. It's so dark and dramatic, I love it! The applicator it comes with surprisingly isn't junk, it's actually really effective and the gel it comes with is a little runny, but it works great! It helps seal it for the entire day! I'm definitely gonna go back and buy the Espresso one, I'm sure it's amazing like this one is. Plus, it's such a good deal! =D

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Bare Honey
emgb 2/19/2010 9:14:00 PM
My shade with True Match is W1 mixed with a little of the C1 shade. I have very fair skin and I love how L'Oreal has given me hope with True Match. Maybelline, Revlon, CoverGirl, they're always just too dark! I love the concept of matching the blush with the shades of foundation. I really do like this blush although I agree with another reviewer who recently said that if you aren't careful, it can look like a fake tan. I made that mistake the first time and learned my lesson. A little goes a long way! The brush that comes with it is actually handy because it picks up just the right amount of blush. This is definitely worth the money because for me, it works as both a blush and a bronzer, all in one! =)

Primer/ Corrector -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Primer
emgb 2/15/2010 10:06:00 PM
I couldn't help but notice the hardcore looking makeup line that had replaced Max Factor at my Walmart! I am not familiar with the Hard Candy line but from what I have observed, there are a lot of products I would like to try. I picked this one because I am in desperate need of primer and the pricing is very reasonable! It's nice! My face is a little shiny towards mid-day/afternoon but nothing oil sheets can't repair. It's a good find! =)

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Rohto V - ICE Redness Relief Lubricant Eye Drops
emgb 1/30/2010 5:52:00 PM
I actually have the Rohto V drops in Arctic, not Ice. I had an idea built up in my head that Arctic would be intense enough that I should wait to use Ice, but, they're actually not bad at all. I definitely want to try Ice when I am finished with this bottle! I want to try the Cool version as well. These are the most effective eye drops I have ever used in the sense that they seriously do refresh your eyes. The first ice cold feeling is invigorating on your eyes and then as that subsides, then your eyes feel moisturized and clear. I still have a little bit of redness but not nearly as bad it was before. My contacts put my eyes through hell and I need to get a new brand but for now, I think these drops are helping if I use them a little before I put in my contacts.

Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Roller
emgb 1/30/2010 5:38:00 PM
I could not resist buying this once I saw it. It's such a clever idea and I love the liquid True Match foundation! It was a little expensive (around $14) but it was worth a try! The application is really simple and quick and the formula glides on very nicely. Sadly for me, it did not withstand for more than just a few hours. I don't really understand what happens with it. It just dissolves away and disappears. Maybe it melts off, I don't know, haha. I have used primer beforehand and then loose powder afterwards but it has not helped. It's really bizarre how it seems to fade so quickly on my skin. I definitely recommend giving it a try though if you're curious about it!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expert Wear "Crown Jewels"
emgb 12/10/2009 4:16:00 PM
Pretty in the packaging, but not on me! I do love the darkest shade a lot! It's a pretty, deep purple that is really great to line my eyes with but other two shades aren't great. They are too shimmery and creased easily. It was worth a try though.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Love My Eyes - Kohl Eye Pencil
emgb 10/18/2009 2:10:00 AM
Other than how this runs really easily in heat/rain/various adverse weather conditions, it is a good Kohl liner! It is easy to apply and it's less than a dollar! It's actually one of the nicest eyeliner that I have in black.

Liquid -Maybelline - Super Stay Makeup
emgb 10/15/2009 5:38:00 AM
This was the final straw for me on whether Maybelline foundations will ever work for me. To my faint surprise, the answer is no. I love so many of their products but the foundations always fail me. When will they begin to have a shade in these newer products that are right for very fair skin? I have used the lightest shade of each version I have tried and they are all still too dark. I also don't like the formula of this. It's thick and feels really heavy on my face. Lastly, the bottle brought back painful memories of Revlon Colorstay. Tall, narrow bottles are not convenient for me at all. I'm sad this was such a dud. Back to the store it goes! :(
