Lips -MAC - A Tartan Tale (Holiday 10) Dazzle The Lads Lip Bag
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 11/5/2010 11:28:00 AM

Bought it on a suggestion and whim based on the SA selling it to me when I was looking at the Triumphant Blush Kit. I swatched it on my hand and the lipstick looked somewhat plummy. When I tried all three products on my lips, it looked more of a medium rose with some blue undertones (think its the dazzleglass as it has violet glitters in it. Very pretty combo. I wouldn't use the lipstick alone.

Treatments -La Prairie - Anti-Aging Neck Cream
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 11/4/2010 1:30:00 PM

This one is the new product on the market. I guess they replaced this with the cellular neck cream? I never tried the old ones but this one is lightweight with a bit of a sticky feel. Smell is not something appealing as with most la prairie products. This does have the cellular complex. $200 for the jar... I put that I would repurchase just in case but this jar should last me a while as I'm young and I just need a pea size. According to the box.. a jar lasts a year after opening. Hopefully this will take care of my v-line as I need help there. Def will look into repurchasing as I find this as a preventative cream... my skin will thank me in 25 years :)

Blush -MAC - My Highland Honey (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 10/28/2010 1:54:00 PM

Agree with the one below, it looked ORANGE in the nordstrom I was in, when I looked at it in my room lighting, it is a true salmon peach color. I immediately bought it during presale as I'm a huge sucker for orange, I compared it to peaches... its more orange than peaches in the store. I did try it on the store, it can be subtlely worn and be built up. Personally I wouldn't mind OD'ing on this blush since I use bronzer, I went to pick it up today. At first, I didnt really fancy the packaging for the holiday collection, but I wanted the peachy blush kit as well (with Smooth Harmony, Melba, and Peachtwist). I can't wait to try this with Smooth Harmony or Cajun loose powder from villans collection. Update: I looove this! I tried it with cajun and it goes on bright but tones down.

Lip Gloss -MAC - heavenly dish neutral lip kit
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 10/27/2010 12:57:00 PM

Found this at the CCO... I was browsing and I was interested in the lip palettes... I bought out four of them... some from the viva glam campaign and some old collections... I def am hooked on the holiday and viva glam lip palettes... I look forward to getting some this year possibly. It's for a good cause... anyway this palette is more of a pink neutral... very natural and I use all three together today... the baby pink lipstick can be fanned in the center of the pout... then the warm pink on the outer lip and edges.. then I top it off with the sheer gloss... the tiny brush that comes with it is. The but u can easily use I finger for application... I prefer more coverage so I use the brush... best of all is its eligible for Back 2 MAC

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Charmzone Albatross Powder Sun SPF 41 PA++
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 10/24/2010 7:15:00 PM

It is my second day using this and I bought it based on a sample used. I started out using Shiseido waterproof lotion sunscreens of spf of 38 or higher. Though I do find Shiseido very comprehensive as far as UV protection, I always felt that the lotions are wayy to chalky for my face and body once dried down, also it is a pain sometimes to take it off at the end of the day as you have to use some oil-based to remove all traces. Therefore, I will only use Shiseido sun lotions for traveling when high spf and coverage is needed. I feel that the Charmzone is good for everyday use and does the job just the same, except this sunscreen does not have UVC (for cancer). I actually got this as a sample first, and it does what it delivers: non-oily, makeup base, UVA and UVB (aging and burning), and according to the box improve skin elasticity. This does not leave my skin as chalky as Shiseido, just a perfect dry finish. I still do get some oilies, but at least my skin will not suffer dehydration. Smells good also. Bad side is it can be hard to find if you do not have korean based products near your city.

Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane - Shower Cream with Shea Milk
rated 4 of 5
definesinister 10/22/2010 9:39:00 PM

I'm pretty sure l'occitane has this in many different fragrances... but I have to say the plain old shea butter one reminds me of milk... there is no foaming but its nice to put it in your scaly areas... I got this from a mail coupon sent from them... and I've been in live since! It does make your hair nice and silky though I don't wash my hair with it often as it could get buildup and my hair gets greasy... nice to switch it up if you like having soft hair :) I will be sure to ask for a different fragranced shower cream next time I run out of this!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 9/17/2010 9:50:00 AM

Yes, there is a hefty price tag on this. But overall, I found out that my pores have gotten tighter! It does what it promises on pore tightening... but seeing that I still have to do some facial treatments for cystic acne and blackheads underneath the skin on my jawline... this little machine will help in keeping most of your moderately severe acne in check. I've only used it for about a month and I love the results, I never thought ever that I could ever get my pores tighter. Worst is my pores on my cheeks and nose. But I would say that 50% of the pores in those areas look more 'refined'. I actually started out using this at night, then after two weeks I started using it day and night. I would strongly suggest to use a PH-Balanced cleanser... like Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser. Just so you dont strip all moisture from your skin. I use pretty aggressive acne treatments, but my face doesnt feel as dry if I were to use an acne facial cleanser.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Ci Labo Aqua Collagen gel
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 9/14/2010 9:57:00 PM

I bought the bigger jar. This stuff saved my skin from getting scaly from acne treatments. I use Gowoonsesang Trouble skin care line... apparently they dont have a gel moisturizer... only two essences for the U-line and T-zone. I'm glad I bought this a while back so I started using it. Once this gel moisturizer settles in it works like a super charm. No breakouts so far, but if I dont get any I will repurchase again and again despite the 80$ USD tag on the bigger jar. Thank goodness for the Japanese!

Skincare - Body -L'Occitane - Amande Almond Tonic Body Oil
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 9/6/2010 12:12:00 AM

I almost just bought the whole line of almond... almost. So I was deciding which body oil to buy- the supple skin or body tonic oil. The nice SA broke it down for me and said this body oil has water retention. Therefore, its good for summer (on the box it says good for summer and good for light flights). I believe this product is fairly new to L'Occitane as I've only been introduced to the supple skin oil. I bought the milk concentrate a while back and I did love the smell of it. So I bought the exfoliating soap, body oil, milk veil and just tested all the almond products I had today. I mixed the oil with the milk veil and spread it across my whole body. Though the body oil smells different from the milk cream. The body oil consistency is nice, it is easy to spread. The bottle is glass and comes with a pump... Usually I just do one pump and slather it on one part of my body (lower thighs). The box has instructions on how to massage the oil on certain parts of the body as this oil is suppose to make your skin more firm and elastic. There is a difference between supple skin and body tonic oil. Body Tonic oil is for water retention and promote lymphatic drainage. Supple Skin is meant to target stretch marks. Overall, I'm obsessed with the L'Occitane AMANDE line.

4/7 UPDATE I am sold on this yet again! They just came out with the cellulite creams for the Spring collection (limited edition unfortunately). But I figure its been a few years since I bought this and I was running out of oil. The oil does make a difference and depuffs the skin and detoxifies the body. I use it in conjunction with the cellulite creams and it is to be used 2x a day. I will still have to keep using to see better results. But I will definitely keep using this one instead of supple skin since my main concern is lymph drainage. I guess the downside is I use a lot of oil to rub parts of my body and the bottle does not contain lots of the oil. Also the oil tends make a mess on the counters.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre Lipstick - Pretty Please
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 8/31/2010 2:28:00 PM

I was at the mac counter at macy's attempting to look for a lady gaga lipstick. The SA pointed out pretty please and politely pink. I choose pretty please. This color is very versatile. I find the best way to wear this is to dab it on your lips instead of dry rubbing it onto the lips. That way you have a lesser chance of looking like tyrone biggums. It comes off as very sheer if you dab it on... but that's the whole point of lustre finishes... its suppose to look like gloss without the sticky feeling. I also like to put Suntint liquid lip balm (color is Full of Grace) on first, then dab a little of pretty please on top. You can also work jellybabe lipgelee underneath and add pretty please for some dimension.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Plushglass - Pretty Plush
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 8/18/2010 2:43:00 PM

Yes it is 18 a pop for plushglass. I notice the texture of plushglass isn't as thick as regular lipglass from mac. So one up for that. Downside is since its not as thick in consistency, it is not opaque as lipglasses or cremesheen glasses. This is my first purchase of plushglass. I asked the SA to pair a lipstick and gloss similar to lady gaga. Glad she pick pretty please l/s and this out, she explained that plushglass adds a little glimmer and shine but doesn't affect the color payoff of lipstick. So I decided to take the chance. It really does add a bit of shine, I use it with either bubbles or pretty please l/s. Please on here that review plushglass says it smells like cinnamon... but to me it always smelled like baked almond cookies. haha just a preference... the stinging sensation I guess makes the lips appear fuller. I guess thats the idea behind it, but I'll go with it. For 18 bucks a pop, not sure if I'm willing to purchase other plushglasses in retail (unless its spotted at cco) as the color payoff is similar to clear glass. I did put yes that I would repurchase this particular plushglass as I like it on top of light pink lipsticks to add oomph.

Blush -Scott Barnes - Chic Palette
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 8/9/2010 3:43:00 PM

Wish he didnt discontinue his makeup line. Its fabulous. So I checked out strawberrynet. Some items sold on there are unboxed but are new. I bought Touch and Bloom, also got Nonchalant bronzer. I tried touch today. Now I know how JLO gets that nice nude lip. I saw SB's video and he put some touch on the model's lips with a liner that is similar to skintone, then he added gloss on top - voila! perfect nude. I haven't tried bloom yet.

Treatments (Eye) -Yves Saint Laurent - Temps Majeur Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 8/8/2010 8:45:00 PM

Ok YSL, You have my blessings on this cream already! I'm only 24 and I've been on the hunt for the best eye cream for dark circles. As far I knew, my whole life I battled with dark circles (didn't sleep much on weekends as a kid). I started noticing I had some puffiness and some wrinkles (due to stress at job). I found this review on MUA and decided its worth a shot. Most expensive cream I've come across. Well worth it though. I've only used it for a few weeks and saw some changes: brightens eyes, reduce puffiness. I can't say so much in the wrinkle department. I'd say at least 35% of my dark circles have been brightened. At first, I would dab on the eye cream closer to my lash line as I have wrinkles are right underneath. Then I learned that I need to pat it along the orbital bone and on brow bone. This way, the cream does not float into the tear ducts. Its just as effective if you pat it along the orbital bone. The cream itself has a somewhat iridescent sparkle in it. But it works. For $126 USD, I may have to think twice about buying it again. There are other eye creams I am willing to try. But if all else fails, I'm heading back to YSL to rebuy. Hopefully they do not discontinue!! :)

Gels/Soaps -Kanebo - Kanebo Naive Aloe Vera Soap
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 7/19/2010 10:18:00 PM

I love it, I haven't been using it not too long and I'm almost done! Found it at the local asian supermarket along with the other millions of japanese body soaps. This one caught my eye has it claims to have aloe in it. Ingredients do have a lot of detergents in it, but I give it props for cleaning my back so well. Theres a million other japanese body soaps to try, so there is a high chance of me coming back to this one as I'm attracted to the aloe part.

Moisturizers -Natura Bisse - Oxygen Cream
rated 5 of 5
definesinister 6/28/2010 9:25:00 PM

This cream is great... for night time only! I use this along with O2 complex and glycolic peel 50%. I use to use BP 5% and olay's sensitive skin moisturizer. But I even skip the BP now at night. I did ask the SA at neiman marcus if its safe to use BP along with O2 products, she said O2 products are never photosensitive and she only warned me it was not recommended to use Retinol. There is a scent to this, you may want to try sensitive cream from NB. My skin has no reacted to the fragrance. My only complaints about this product is do NOT rub it onto your skin. I use a patting motion, once its on my skin I spread it evenly and I spread it gently and it can peel. For some reason the cream is cheaper than the serum? Overall both works wonders.
