Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Confetti #004 Tazmanian Devil
cloroxcowgirl 11/14/2012 11:37:00 PM
This was the first rainbow glitter polish I ever purchased. I have no complaints about it, the formula is great (esp. considering the price). Even though I'm not a big fan of Confetti's wonky brushes, the glitter distributes evenly and I don't have to use more than 1-2 coats. The polish consists of micro-glitter, medium and larger hex glitter. I see silver, orange, green, blue, and fuchsia glitter pieces. TD is a great way to jazz up any mani, esp. a dull cream polish. I love it over pink and grey but I think it would look great over a wide variety of colors. It also works well for jelly sandwiches (layering between a jelly finish polish). I have already purchased a back up of this polish since I reach for it often. So, yeah, I would repurchase :)

Polishes -Orly - Meet Me Under The Mistletoe
cloroxcowgirl 11/1/2012 4:22:00 AM
This color is amazing - a shimmering pine green with gold glass flecks. It is so multi-dimensional. Like the other reviewers I did find the formula to be sheer and slightly streaky on the first coat, but it becomes opaque at three coats. This color ties with ChG Emerald Sparkle as my favorite dark green nail polish. Both are stunning, but MMutM is a more blue toned and complex shade whereas ES is a saturated emerald green. I love this color so much for winter!

Polishes -China Glaze - Emerald Sparkle
cloroxcowgirl 11/1/2012 3:13:00 AM
Green nail polish is tricky for me to pull off; I have to stick with more blue toned greens on my PPP skin. That said, this color is fabulous, and works well with my skin tone. One of my very favorite greens ever and a must around Christmas time. It has a jellyish formula, with dense emerald microglitter in a dark green base. It absolutely glows on the nail. This color just makes me happy. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a dark green shimmer as it is one of the most beautiful polishes I've come across.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Red Carpet
cloroxcowgirl 10/29/2012 7:00:00 PM
I never wear bright red nail polish - except around Christmas time I might do an accent nail with it. That's why I bought this color last holiday season - I got this for dirt cheap on clearance. The color is absolutely stunning. A vibrant maraschino cherry red with red sparkles. It just glows on the nail. It has a jelly consistency but given that it is very opaque. I fell deeply in love with this color just wearing it as an accent nail (I wore it w/ ChG Emerald Sparkle and it looked a-mazing!). I didn't have any problem with the wear time on it and I used an inexpensive top and base coat. I have tried ChG Ruby Pumps but much prefer Red Carpet because it is more vibrant to my eye. I would absolutely recommend this color and will be pulling it out again for Xmas this year :)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Gem Crush Big Money
cloroxcowgirl 10/15/2012 3:38:00 AM
I love these Gem Crush glitters. I have three (Be-Jeweled, Razzle Dazzler and this one) and enjoy all of them. Big Money has champagne-gold fine and medium glitter with round lavender glitter. The lavender glitter isn't very obvious unless you are in bright light but it gives a subtle complexity to the color. I also like that this is a cool toned gold which makes it more neutral and wearable. I have had no issues with chipping with this or my other Gem Crushes. I use a SH base coat, 2-3 coats of glitter and a quick dry top coat and it stays on like iron. I may have to buy one or two more of these glitters ;)

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Nail Color - Bite the Bullet
cloroxcowgirl 10/14/2012 7:51:00 PM
I have tried quite a few colors from the new WnW Megalast lineup and this is one of my favorites so far. The color is a dusty lavender mauve, similar to the now hard to find OPI Parlez Vous OPI? but slightly more mauve leaning. The formula is fabulous - it flows smoothly and evenly onto the nail and dries quickly. The flat brush also makes application easy. It lasted 5 days on my nails with hardly any tip wear at all, I could have left it on longer but I wanted to change nail colors. This is one of the Megalast polishes that really lives up to its name. Would highly rec. BtB!

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - smokey hazel eyes
cloroxcowgirl 10/5/2012 6:36:00 PM
I have blue eyes but generally prefer the colors in the PF Hazel Eyes palettes. I am drawn to the heathered pinks, taupes and greys that they tend to include. This palette is no exception; I really enjoy the colors in this one and they make it easy to achieve a smoky eye look. The palette includes a silver, three mauve toned colors (one actually looks like a slightly more mauve UD Sin), three greyish taupes, one deep berry shade and a black. As with all the PF shimmer strips the pigmentation is hit or miss (I find the pinks to be particularly sheer), but the taupes are really nice in this palette - not too cool or warm for my skin tone. I adore the pinkish color second from the top - pairing it with the grey-taupe I can create an oyster shell effect on my lids that looks fresh and flattering. I find that combining pink with the smoky colors has a brightening effect that keeps it from looking too muddy. One minor complaint is that I used different colors from this palette to come up with two different looks and they ended up looking very similar. But I still love this palette and will continue to play around with it, I think it is an ideal color palette for fall :)

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast "Through the Grapevine" #208
cloroxcowgirl 9/30/2012 11:26:00 PM
I decided on a whim that I needed this polish. It really is a beautiful medium berry color - slightly dusty and without shimmer. It went on smoothly and was nicely opaque. I used it for a pedi and usually get a least a couple of weeks of wear out of my pedis. But this started get tip wear within a few days and by day 10 was starting to chip :( I used the same top and base coat I always use and have never had an issue, nor have I had an issue with other colors in this line (so far). I will probably hang onto this color because I love it otherwise, but it seems like stretch to say this is a long lasting nail polish.

Polishes -Sinful - Winterberry
cloroxcowgirl 9/27/2012 3:55:00 AM
Gah, this color is so freaking pretty! It reminds me of Revlon Perplex/Chanel Paradoxal except with silver and multi-colored shimmer instead of purple. The formula is great too, two easy coats. It is very flattering on my cool skin tone. I have already purchased a back up of it since it is a limited addition color (brought back this fall by popular demand). This is a staple winter color for me, and one of my all time favorites in my 200+ collection. I say pick this up if you can find it :)

Polishes -FingerPaints - Pretty as a Portrait
cloroxcowgirl 9/19/2012 1:57:00 AM
This polish is the perfect medium berry color. It is a creme, and has a strong magenta purple undertone to it. It also has a slightly muted quality which makes it perfect for fall. I am surprised at how much I like this polish; since it was one of my first Fingerpaints I think it was a good introduction to the line. The formula is great - it went on smoothly and in two coats. It was a little slow drying but a quick dry top coat helps. I would definitely rec. this color if you are looking for a nice berry colored polish.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Natural Blend Lip Shimmer #101P Peach
cloroxcowgirl 9/12/2012 5:15:00 PM
I have this in shade 101 (Tart), and love it! I recently reviewed the color Spice from the same line and was very impressed with it, so decided to try this color as well. I have been looking for a peach tinted lip balm and this color fits the bill exactly - it is peachy-pink (not orange or rusty) and packed with very fine shimmer. The shimmer is the only reason I didn't rate this a five, as it makes the texture slightly gritty (unlike Spice, which has no shimmer and a smooth consistancy). But this color is just as pigmented - almost lipstick pigmented - and goes on the lips with a very slight minty tingle. The wear time is great because of the intense pigmentation. For the price, these really can't be beat. I will likely purchase one or two more colors.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - white citrus
cloroxcowgirl 9/10/2012 1:13:00 PM
White Citrus is my HG summer fragrance, and I've been a fan of the lotion for a couple of years. Not long ago I got the fragrance mist to go with it (so that I can layer them for more lasting power). I like the fragrance mist also, but it is a slightly different scent from the body lotion. It smells more fruity to me - more of a pear scent with a hint of citrus in the background, whereas the body lotion is more of a true citrus/ginger/waterlily scent. Between the two I feel like the lotion is more true to the description of the scent, and I prefer it over the fragrance mist. But I do like the fragrance mist also, it is nice for hot weather when you want something refreshing that isn't cloying. The lasting power isn't great but I find that to be true of most body mists - layering it with a lotion will help it last throughout the day. All in all, a nice pear/citrus scent but I am undecided on whether I would repurchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Mousse Mascara - Water Resistant
cloroxcowgirl 9/10/2012 12:00:00 PM
Overall, this is a decent mascara. It has a very light weight formula, which I like. And although it has a wet formula I don't find it to smudge or flake excessively. It looks very natural on the lashes, definitely doesn't give a dramatic effect. I got the water resistant version (in Black Brown) and ironically it washes off really easily and is the only mascara I've tried that doesn't leave rings around my eyes when I get it wet. I actually like that about this product. Oddly, it smells nice too (not something I usually pay attention to with mascara), when I was using it one time I caught a whiff of what smells like sweet almond oil which is a favorite scent of mine. The thing that I really don't like about this product is that it dries my eyelashes out. I've noticed every time I use it that the next day my lashes feel brittle and I have to use olive oil to moisturize them. So for that reason I wouldn't repurchase this mascara. I have heard a lot of rave reviews about this product and no ones mentioned dry lashes from it so maybe it's just me (or maybe just the water resistant version - I haven't tried the original version). But after I finish the tube I have I will be moving on to try something else.

Polishes -Essie - Coat Azure
cloroxcowgirl 9/9/2012 6:51:00 PM
There's something special about this color. It is shimmery warm toned blue that reminds me of water :) It has a slightly muted, greyed out quality but is also very saturated. I love the silver shimmer in it. The formula is very good, it is opaque in two coats and dries quickly, also lasts a good while on the nails. I love to layer glitter over it too (Revlon Blue Mosaic looks esp. amazing). CA is the exact opposite of most blues I gravitate towards but somehow I love it anyway. The whole French Affair collection was amazing and this was one of the colors that renewed my interest in Essie as a brand. Would most definitely repurchase if I ever run out.

Polishes -New York Color - Grand Central Station clear nail polish
cloroxcowgirl 8/28/2012 2:22:00 PM
I can understand the hype around this top coat. It is excellent for as cheap as it is. My favorite top coat is Sally Hansen Insta Dri, but it costs a bit more money and always dries up half way through the bottle on me :/ So I only use that one on special occasions, GCS is now my everyday topcoat. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly. My manis last about 4 days (give or take a day). It isn't quite as shiny as the SH top coat, but still gives a nice shine to the nails. There is slight color transfer if I am not careful when applying it. And it does start to dry up toward the end of the bottle but I can live with that since it is so cheap. I have a bunch of bottles stashed away because I always want to have some on hand (no pun intended).
