Liquid -By Terry - Light Expert

I bought this in #1 Rosey Light which I think is different than the Sephora Beige Light. My skin is fair and neutral so I prefer a pinkish tone to foundations rather than yellow. This imparts a beautiful radiant glow that looks very natural. It reminds me of Armani's Face Fabric but I like the color of this better and I think it gives more of a glow than FF. There are negatives. The first is the fragrance which I can still smell several hours after application. I don't understand why a great product like this needs a fragrance which can cause irritation to many people. I also don't like the brush. It doesn't take the place of a good foundation brush which many women already use. I ended up putting it on with my fingers. The last negative is the price.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere in Ischia
citylady 3/19/2009 10:02:00 AM
I am a huge fan of the Aqualumieres. I love sheer lipsticks because my lips are thin and not very pigmented. I also like that these have SPF 15. Ischia is part of the 2009 Cote de azur colors. It is named for an Italian island in the Mediteranean (where my mother's family is from!). On my hand it looked a bit too purply but on it is a great MLBB. It is a pinky mauve with little shimmer. (I'm not a big fan of shimmer).

Lip Liners -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Lip Liner

Ballet Pink - Finally a lip liner that matches my pale lips. It's so hard to find a liner that's not brownish.

Mascara -Givenchy - Captiv'Eye Black
citylady 4/27/2008 9:16:00 PM
I bought this because of the great reviews but I am very unhappy with it. the brush is the worst. even though I pull it out slowly per the instructions, it comes out flat and takes several minutes to regain a normal shape. Who has time for this when you're rushing in the morning! It takes alot of work to build up any volume. I'm going back to Faux cils.

Primer/ Corrector -Clarins - Instant Light Complexion Perfector
citylady 4/24/2008 10:23:00 AM
Really like this. It actually does make my pores look smaller and my skin look smoother before I even put foundation on. I was disappointed with Armani's primer but I would definitely buy this again. I see why it's a Paula's pick. Update 12/2009 - prefer Armani's new light primer to this.

Polishes -Paula's Choice - Polished to Perfection Nail Lacquer in Just Right Red [DISCONTINUED]
citylady 4/10/2008 9:41:00 AM
I need a nail polish without the hard to pronounce bad chemicals because I have exzema. Paula's choice fits the bill. Revlon polishes do as well but I couldn't find the right red. I wanted a true blue red and this is how it was described on Paula's website. It is just right. The price is right too. ####Believe this has been discontinued.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer (Dry/Combination) [DISCONTINUED]
citylady 12/2/2007
This is my holy grail night moisturizer (doesn't contain sunscreen). I use the Combination/Dry most of the time and switch to Dry/Very Dry in the winter. It's loaded with antioxidants and comes in an opaque tube. Around $40 USD it's pretty reasonably priced for a dept store moisturizer. No fragrance and it's a Paula's Pick.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
citylady 12/1/2007 11:54:00 PM
This doesn't irritate my easily irritated eyes. Takes off waterproof mascara and stubborn gel eyeliner without pulling out your eyelashes. Rinses away with water and doesn't leave a greasy film. Only wish it came in a tube instead of a bottle. The price is reasonable.

Sunscreen -Prescriptives - Anti-Age Advanced Protection Lotion SPF 25
citylady 12/1/2007 11:50:00 PM
This is my everyday moisturizer except in the summer. I like the UVA/UVB SPF 25. It gives my somewhat dry skin enough moisture but doesn't feel greasy and doesn't cause break outs. I have trouble with exczema and this doesn't make it worse since there's no fragrance.Wish it was a bit less expensive. I have repurchased.

Concealers -Lancome - Effacernes
citylady 12/1/2007 11:11:00 PM
Have used this on and off for years. Tried others (Cover girl, prescriptives, dior, Revlonlooking for perfection and come back to this. I'm fair and use it in porclaine. It goes on smoothly (either with a brush or my finger) and covers my undereye darkness. (I have genetic dark pigmentation in the inner corners which has gotten worse with age). It doesn't cake or crease. It doesn't last more than a few hours even though I put powder over it.

Primer/ Corrector -Giorgio Armani - Fluid Master Primer
citylady 12/1/2007 10:57:00 PM
bought this because of good reviews here and the Giorgio Armani brand (love the designer cream foundation). My forehead tends to be a little shiny even in colder weather and this helps a little with that. however, it really doesn't do much else. Doesn't help my pores look smaller, either. For this price and the Armani brand I expected better.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
citylady 12/1/2007 10:48:00 PM
I have this in light bisque and it's a good match for my nuetral fair skin. I have purplish pigment in the inner corners of my eyes (genetic but worse from lack of sleep/stress) and this covers them without creasing. Sometimes I put concealer over it as recommended by BB. (I use Lancome waterproof not BB). I use translucent powder over it as BB recommends but it still doesn't last more a few hours. No concealer I've ever used seems to last but I'm rating this high because it covers, doesn't crease or cake, comes in a pretty compact and comes in enough colors for most skintones.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Black Truffle Eyeshadow Trio
citylady 12/1/2007 10:39:00 PM
This is my favorite eyeshadow. I had stopped wearing wine/plummy/heather colors as I've matured because I felt they made me look tired. However, these colors are more neutral than most plummy/ wine colors yet more interesting than the usual taupe. They are matte - which I prefer and which has been hard to find. They go on smoothly and last through the day.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge Eyeshadow Quad - Teddy Bear
citylady 12/1/2007 10:31:00 PM
I like 2 out of the 4 colors. I like matte eyeshadows - they're more flattering on a 40 something woman. Clinique's also don't have any fragrance and go on smoothly - very important. These are pretty neutral taupe/brown colors. I would repurchase as a duo or single but this quad was relatively inexpensive compared to other dept sore brands. Compact is pretty.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Powder Pink
citylady 12/1/2007 10:21:00 PM
This is great. The color and texture look very real on my skin. It lasts through the day. My skin is normal to dry - dryer in the colder weather. Wouldn't use this in the summer but love it for this weather.
