Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Drama Clean refreshing shampoo
rated 5 of 5

This is a great clarifying shampoo that leaves my hair clean, refreshed, and shiny. It is too harsh to use more than once a week, but that is ok, because I do not want to overstrip my hair. This smells great too. I will definately repurchase.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo
rated 2 of 5

I am not impressed. Clairol Herbal Essences new shampoo, Body Envy, is a tacky smelling, SLS packed, average run-in-the-mill cleanser. My hair was a staticky mess after using this, and was left flatter than usual, however a bit more thick and shiny. But the added shine isn't worth it, nor are the increased split ends. This new herbal essences line just isn't as special as the last one. However, I did enjoy the Drama Clean shampoo for weekly clarifying.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Mania

What a truly great scent. On sephora it is described as woody oriental with notes of lily of the valley, amber, peony, and of course, musk. To my nose, the scent is musky and spicy floral, and I honestly cannot stop sniffing my wrist throughout the day with this on. I get so many compliments with this on, mainly because it blends so well with my skin. I only wear it through the fall and winter, because it is just too heavy for the warmer seasons. It is my HG fragrance, and i will continue to buy it. Just don't purchase this unsniffed, unless you are a big musk and lily of the vally fan, because it smells unique on just about everyone. I really want to try Lulu Guiness Cast a Spell and Kiehls Original Musk to see if they are comparable to this scent.

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
rated 5 of 5
caitlinv 12/31/2006 10:38:00 PM

So far, I really love this product. Benefit some kind-a gorgeous is a "one shade fits all foundation faker," and suprisingly, unlike you rebel, the shade really DOES blend into most skin tones. It leaves a truly transparent finish while still covering redness and other discolorations. The trick, in my expirience, is to use your fingers or a brush to blend the product on. The sponge applies the product much too heavy for my tastes. It feels weightless on your skin, and starts out matte but gets dewier, not oilier throughout the day. Definately try this product!

Lip Gloss -Laura Mercier - Bitten Lip Gloss - Baby Lips
rated 5 of 5
caitlinv 12/29/2006 2:05:00 PM

This is my new favorite lip gloss! Laura Mercier Bitten l/g in Baby lips is a beautiful, nudey, natural pink, with a little bit of light gold shimmer. It is a very flattering color, but I especially love the finish of this gloss. It takes a lot of layers to get the actual "gloss" finish, and instead you get a good layer of color and a plumper, "bitten" finish. I have really never seen anything like this. I don't mind that you do not get a shiny finish with this, and I like how it leaves your lips almost more natural than before. I will definately be checking out the other colors!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Wheat Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5

I will start off this review by saying that Stila Wheat, like 95% of other stila eyeshadows, is frosty. For that reason, I don't like to wear it all over my lid as a wash, because that kind of shimmer does not flatter me at all when I use large amounts of it. But, wheat is an incredible highlighter. I can use it around my lips to give the illusion of a larger lip, around my cheekbones, or on the inner corners of my eyes. I also love to put this shadow in the crease of my eye. It looks beautiful dusted over the collarbone, too. The packaging is nice, and the shadow has a magnetic backing in order to fit into the container. Wheat is a light beigey color, with loads of shimmer (but it is finely milled). I would definately reccomend this shadow as a great, multi-tasking product. The shadow is $14 (US) by itself, but $16 when sold with the container.

Great, great, great scent. I don't quite know how to describe it. It is floral definately, but very unique. Musky in a sense. I will definately repurchase, and i also have the lotion and the powder.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 2 of 5
caitlinv 12/3/2006 2:48:00 PM

My HG scrub. It leaves my skin (whether face or body) glowing, soft, and smooth. I would never dream of replacing it, as it is, in a sense, near perfect. It keeps body acne at bay, and smells great to boot. Please St. Ives, don't reformulate this product! I don't know how you could make it better! UPDATE: Apparently the apricot particles are too harsh for your skin, so I have since discontinued use and started using a brown sugar/olive oil mix scrub. I am extremely happy with the results of this homemade scrub, as is my skin :)

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System

Ick Ick Ick Ick Ick. I thought this was my miracle product for 4 months. My skin was clear and healthy and glowly. But then, I saw the true effects of this product. It made my skin dry and scaly, prolonged breakouts, and took everything away from my skin that was good. This is the absolute WORST product I have ever used. I have better luck with near natural, organic products as opposed to scientifically made, harsh products that wreak havoc on my skin. The "soothing, spa quality botanicals" is CRAP! The moisturizer made my skin itch like crazy! It smelled horrible too. Please, don't buy this, and instead go to your derm, get on meds, and buy organic products. It has helped me out a ton.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
caitlinv 12/3/2006 2:39:00 PM

Yep. This is amazing. My lips are left tinged pink, plumper (from the mint), and moisturized. I always keep this around, and I use it at night with my C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve. My dog, however odd, loves the taste of this too. I even bought him his own little tube! It works great on dry skin (cuticles, cheeks, my dog's nose...). I also love the color it leaves. The perfect, matte pink. Definately MLBB. HG for me!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

This product smells great, has a nice consistency, and leaves my skin feeling fresh, but it breaks me out everytime I use it, and leaves a nasty film :(

Toners -Kiehls - Rosewater facial freshening toner
rated 3 of 5
caitlinv 12/3/2006 2:32:00 PM

This is a nice refresher for my skin. I find it removes a bit of oil, but other than that I don't notice too much of a difference in my skin. The rose petals look very pretty, so I always keep it out. It tingles a bit, so it kinda wakes me up in the morning. I will probably repurchase just to keep around to use on impulse.

Blush -Cargo - Fresno
rated 2 of 5
caitlinv 12/3/2006 2:29:00 PM

AHHHHHH! It is attack of the shimmer! The amount of shimmer this "blush" contains even rivals Nars Orgasm, something I didn't think was remotely possible. On perfect plump skin this is a nice product, but on someone with real human flaws like myself, it just doesnt work. I feel like this blush just points and makes fun of my flaws, which is why i immeadiately gave this to my sister, who has perfect skin and loves it. It adds a little bronzy-pink color, but not enough to consider this product a blush. Plus, the blush fell out of the pan the day after I got it, which makes me wonder about cargo's packaging.

Eyes -Mally Beauty - The Light Wand Eye Brightener Powder Pencil
rated 4 of 5
caitlinv 12/3/2006 2:17:00 PM

Mally Beauty's eyebright wand is a great product, but only if you are in a certain skintone range. I bought the darkest color, which is why it works well, but dark skin tones, stay away from this! The sponge-tip side is even obvious on me, which is why i just "dab" it into the inner corners of my eyes. But the nude liner is really what I am reviewing. It stays put all day on my inner rims, and makes my eyes look big and bright.
