Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Renewal Facial Creme

I bought this at TJ-Maxx cheap. I need something to "rejuvenate" my dull skin and something to clear up scars. This stuff lasts forever. I use it once in awhile, whenever I need moisturization. I might need to use it more to see results. It's a bit thick, and leaves my skin a tiny bit shiny. I don't use it under makeup-only at night. I don't think it makes me break out. Makes my skin soft, but that's about it. Haven't seen any improvement otherwise.
Gels/Soaps -Caress - Caress Glowing Touch Body Wash

I was on the lookout for a body wash at Wal-Mart, and I got this one because it was cheap and looked intersting. I definitely don't have a glow. Yeah, it smells nice. I don't think it leaves my skin so smooth. My elbows ar SO dry, and I have to reapply my Johnson's lotion throughout the day. I might try it for shaving later.
Shampoo -Back to Basics - Citrus Sage Clarifying Shampoo
benandjerrys 12/12/2006 5:01:00 PM
This is ok. I bought it on a whim while looking for a good clarifying shampoo. I've tried Pantene and Clairol...not too happy. This is the best one I've tried yet, but I'm still on the lookout. I guess since I've been using it for so long, it's lost its effect on my hair. It cleans my hair, and that's about it. Lately, I've been getting a lot more frizz than usual. I can't blame it on my HG conditioner - L'anza Dry Hair Detangler, so maybe it's this stuff. Oh, and the small bottle is relatively easy to tote around my dorm room. I'd buy it again, only if I don't find a better one.
Foundations -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Clean Tint
benandjerrys 12/12/2006 4:52:00 PM
I bought this 'cause I read somewhere that it was good for oily skin. It doesn't do much. It smells bad and does not have good coverage - it does say clean tint. I wouldn't call it a foundation. I have combination skin, and it dries out my drier spots. I'd use moisturizer first. The only plus about this is that it's quick and easy to use. Whenever I have to make a quick run somewhere, I slather this on and I don't have to worry about streaks or an unnatural color.
What happened to this stuff? I loved it. It did absolutely nothing to texturize my hair, but it did leave it soft and smooth. I'd spray it on, brush, and my hair would be set all day.
Liquid -Almay - Wake Up Call Energizing Makeup SPF 15

This was one of the first foundations I tried. I haven't been able to find it again. It's the only foundation that has ever matched my skin perfectly. I loved it, because I got better skin and no one knew I was wearing makeup.
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
benandjerrys 12/11/2006 12:56:00 AM
I'm 18, and have just begun using sunscreen on my face. Besides this, I've tried Aveeno and didn't quite like it as much. I bought this after seeing it on Allure's Best of Beauty list. It's sheer, dries quickly, and goes great under makeup. Who knows if it's protecting me from the sun? I still have some freckles on my face, but no new ones have popped up. Hopefully, I don't get pigmentation in the future.
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve

My favorite lip balm! I used to buy it from Urban Outfitters, but stopped when my mother refused to shell out $6 for a lip balm. Now that I have money of my own, I will continue to buy it. It leaves my lips soft and glossy pink. It's a balm and gloss in one. I'd prefer it in a stick though.
This is one of those foundations that is ok to use all of it, but when the container is empty, I will never use it again. I bought it because it seemed interesting. The stuff is really smooth and easy to put on. I have combination skin. The problem is that it doesn't do anything! It doesn't coever much. It doesn't give a matte finish. After I finished it, I went out in search of another foundation.
Primer/ Corrector -Philosophy - The Present- Clear Powder
benandjerrys 12/11/2006 12:39:00 AM
I long stopped using this product. When I first bought it, I used it a couple of times under my makeup. It was thick and it smelled weird. It did nothing to make my skin look better. My makeup actually looked worse. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but surely it was a waste of alot of money.
I've been using this makeup for awhile. Usually, I bounce from one foundation to another. This one has good coverage. It doesn't really cover breakouts, but no foundation I've tried can. The only gripe I have is that the color doesn't match my skin tone exactly. I use natural buff. It's pretty close, but a bit light. It does last long, but not 16 hours. I use Neutrogena suncreen under it, and my face doesn't get shiny at all. I will be switching to another foundation soon though. I want to try BareMinerals.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Visibly Even Night Concentrate [DISCONTINUED]
benandjerrys 12/11/2006 12:09:00 AM
I tried it once, and am scared to try it again. I put it on one night. When I woke up, my face was shiny. I put on makeup, and my face was shinier than usal all day. Then, I got breakouts...not sure if it was because of this. The ingredients sound good though- retinol, soy... I paid $12 or so for a 1 oz. little tube. If I try it again, I'll update my review. UPDATE: I tried it again. Put it on my cheeks and chin. The next day, I had two pimples. I'm blaming this. :(
Conditioner -L'anza - L'anza Dry Hair Formula Detangler
benandjerrys 12/11/2006 12:02:00 AM
This is the BEST! I would give it a 5, but it is expensive, and my bottle is large and cumbersome at times. (I tote it from the shower to my dorm room). I bought one bottle for $25. But it leaves my hair so shiny and soft! It's the only conditioner I've tried that doesn't weigh down my hair.
It's not the best...but it's pretty good. I like Smith's Rosebud Salve better, but it does cost $6 or so. This is cheaper I think. It temporarily soothes my dry lips, but doesn't really moisturize them. I like that it makes my lips plump. I use it under lip gloss.
