Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Translucent Mattifying Powder
baileybabe7486 6/7/2009 8:27:00 PM
This is really nice. Packing is NARS-esque minus the rubbery feel that everyone gripes about. The sponge it comes with is actually nice too - a real rarity. The powder is a soft fleshy peach color. It is very translucent, but there's definitely a bare hint of color when it goes on. Its definitely matifying, not cakey, doesn't clog my pores yet. Overall, very nice.

Lipstick -NARS - Damage

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. It's one of my staples. The color is a cool rose plum with a touch of purple. It is indeed sheer, but moisturizing and very buildable. Not near as sheer on me as others have made it out to be, and again, very cool, at least on my lips. I love it worn alone, and also layered. Looks really nice over Scarlet Empress.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Giza
baileybabe7486 5/24/2009 7:34:00 PM
I was afraid to purchase this for quite a while because I thought it'd be too orangey. I have Chihuahua, and seeing the comparison pictures seemed to confirm my fear. I finally tried it on today and was so pleased, I bought it immediately. It's a creamy, no shimmer peach, with the tiniest trace of pink - just enough to win me over. On my lips, it's a beautiful nude peach lip. All my NARS glosses are creamy and moisturizing, and the packaging sucks as always - leaks out from the lids.

Lipstick -NARS - Scarlett Empress

I've finally found it. This is HG material all the way. I love NARS lipsticks for their sheer, satin finish and moisturizing texture. This is no exception. The color is fabulous. In the tube it's a cool blackened berry, very purplely. On my lips it's a cool creme plum berry, a touch of magenta, not too dark, and buildable. LOVE.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
baileybabe7486 5/24/2009 7:23:00 PM
Pros: Coverage is nice, has a sort of cashmere finish. Medium and buildable. Lots of shades available in several undertones. I have best results when I sort of buff this on with a fluffy synthetic powder brush. Does give very camera ready, photo finish. Cons: Price, yikes. Pump dispenser - you have limited control over how much comes out at a time. Overall, it's nice and I will use it until it's gone. But, it's not HG for me, and Maybelline's Dream Liquid may even be better... NW20 and I wear shade 115.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
baileybabe7486 5/2/2009 9:44:00 PM
I've long been on the search for an HG foundation, and this is the closest I've come thus far. I'm a MAC NW20 and wear benefit erase paste in fair. I bought this foundation first in classic ivory, shade 2 in light. It was a good match in that it wasn't too light or dark, but it was a touch too yellow for my skin. I just purchased the next shade up, natural ivory, shade 3 in light and it's perfect. It's not any darker, but has just a touch more pink. I apply this over my primer with the SK blending sponge, and then set with my HG maybelline dream matte powder. I don't have overly dry or oily skin, though I have patches of each from time to time. This goes on smooth, blends like a dream and gives me the closest thing I've ever seen to an airbrush finish. Will definitely repurchase, love.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Belize
baileybabe7486 4/25/2009 10:23:00 AM
Ok, this is lovely. The promo pic makes it look like Turkish Delight, it's not. TD is a very cool milky baby pink without any real discernable shimmer. Belize is a cool mauve nude pink, also milky/creamy, but with noticeable gold shimmer. It's lovely on my lips, makes them look full and natural but still sultry somehow. I have Female Trouble as well. In terms of color, Belize is in the middle of these too. Female Trouble is darker and more mauve/purple than Belize. Would definitely repurchase, I have two kits alone filled with gloss and nothing like this lovely shade. Wanted to add that this is definitely a bit 'greyed' though not so much as to make it unwearable or wash you out. My fiance described it as "fleshy gray pink, and wait, some gold shimmer?"

Blush -Trish McEvoy - Liquid Face Color Peach
baileybabe7486 1/16/2009 11:37:00 AM
I'm not sure about this product. I really want to like it. Packaging is a click pen, with a much wider brush at the top than the Stila pens. Color is similar to the container color, a pretty peachy pink with gold shimmer. When I swatch it on my bare underarm, I get a lot of color payoff, however, when I wear it on my cheeks, with other makeup...the result is not so good. Sheer and doesn't wear very long. Would venture to say it's a touch pinker and more pigmented than NARS Orgasm...but you cannot build the color on the cheek like you can with Orgasm.

This is gorgeous. It's a cool, bright hot pink without any shimmer in the tube. On the lips its sheer, but not anywhere near clear, like a cool hot rose.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect - 247 Cotton Petal
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:40:00 PM
I went on a scavenger hunt for this gloss, and finally got one on Ebay. It's very nice, but not worth the hype or stress to track it down. It's a milky, semi sheer peachy pink, more pink than peach. It's not as opaque as NARS Turkish Delight, nor is it as cool toned or milky. It's something like a cross between Turkish Delight and Scott Barnes Meow, which is a bit more peach/coral and also a bit milkier/more opaque than Cotton Petal.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Cork
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:37:00 PM
This is just a really nice basic. Great quality, texture, blendability as I find to be the case with all MAC shadows. Color is a light to medium warm taupe brown, has a bit of a golden undertone. No shimmer or glitter. I use this in the crease with a fleshy color in the lid for a very basic but contoured eye. Really brings out the blue in my eyes, nice for a natural look.

Lip Gloss -Julie Hewett - Lip Lush in Sophia
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:33:00 PM
I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I got this hoping for that pinky brown with a mauvey undertone kind of color. It's definitely pink and brown, but the mauve/purple is scarce, and it's heavy on the brown. It's still nice and understated, but nothing special. The huge problem I have with this is the scent. It is like eating a burning stick of incense all day long. Yuck.

Lip Gloss -Beth Bender Cosmetics - Lip Love Maya
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:31:00 PM
Again, the swatch on the website is completely inaccurate. The description is more or less accurate, it's a mauve rose, but it's much much much darker than the swatch on the site, and there's not any pink to at all. In the tube it appears cool toned mauve rose with gold shimmer. On the lips, unfortunately, it goes ruddy on me, more brown rose with gold shimmer. Packaging exactly like a Stila glaze.

Lip Gloss -Beth Bender Cosmetics - The Nudes Perfect Pout Lip Glaze Paris is Burning
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:28:00 PM
The swatch and description are fairly accurate, it is a pink beige shimmer. The shimmer is gold, and the pink beige part is just about non existent. It's not a nude lip at all for me, just ruddy gold shimmer. The packaging is cheap, it's the same as the liquid lip glaze which they have a picture of on the site. Really really disappointed with this one. I got the pinkest shade available, and it was light years away from the promo picture at the top of the page. It's unusable for me.

Lip Gloss -Beth Bender Cosmetics - Glam Gloss Tallulah
baileybabe7486 12/14/2008 7:25:00 PM
On a recent haul from Beth Bender, this is the only product I liked. It comes in plastic pot form, clear, with a screw on lid that has a flower painted on top. The packaging is fine, negligible, definitely not high end. The price is a bit much for me as far as the packaging is concerned, but you definitely get enough gloss, probably a little more than a NARS Lacquer. The color is the best part about this product. Tallulah is described as a strawberry pink with shimmer. The swatches on the website are completely inaccurate, this was true of everything I purchased, even Tallulah. The description is fairly accurate though. It's like a corally red pink with fine gold shimmer. Smells and taste of fruit, and the texture is nice, it's balmier than a NARS lacquer, but still very pigmented.
