Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Emerald Girl
rated 3 of 5

I love the metallic foresty green of this shadow, but it's almost useless without primer. It just does not show up on its own. I put it over black eyeliner for a cool jolt of jade.

Lipstick -Milani - Sweet Nectar
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:55:00 PM

Never in my life have I worn orange lipstick. NEVER. Not even in the 80's when I was a child playing with makeup. But recently I saw it in a magazine and it just looked so cool and amazing on all the models, one of which had my Asianish complexion (NC42). So ever since I've been looking around for one. This one is very orange. It's part of the new Milani revamped line. Good pigmentation, smooth application, and it smells sooooo yummy!! Like Japanese candy. And it looks really pretty. Okay, it's kind of jarring, but it's not like when I try to work pink lipstick and I look like a whore. I can actually pull off orange lipstick. I got this at CVS on sale for $3.69, plus they give you a $2 ECB.

Polishes -Revlon - Scented - Mad About Mango #355
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:49:00 PM

Wow! This is just so stunning. It's a vivid crème coral, and it really does smell like mangos when it dries. Personally, I think it's kind of dumb for polish to be scented. I have never once sniffed my nails and thought, "Gee, wouldn't it be great if my tips smelled like fruit?" On the other hand, how amazing would it be if Kleancolor polishes smelled like candy instead of a hazmat spill? Anyway, this is a 2-coater, but it's not exactly original, and a full hour after I polished my nails, I made the mistake of scratching my leg and I smudged it! There is a great deal at CVS this week: all Revlon is BOGO 1/2 off. I got four polishes for $18, minus 4 CVS Revlon coupons, and a bonus $3 off $15 worth of cosmetics, PLUS a $5 ECB, so really they were free after sales tax.

Eyeliner -Revlon - REVLON COLORSTAY CRÈME GEL EYE LINER (all colors)
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:44:00 PM

Not exactly spectacular, but I really like this product. I think the design is really cool, since you always have the brush contained in the package, however, it's just about impossible to get a fine line--for me anyway. I only managed to get thick bold lines with this. The formula sets and lasts, but it's not as good as the Colorstay liner in the pencil form. It's not as black and it just doesn't set as well. Still, this is easy to use and it's reasonably priced. I picked this up at CVS for about $4 after the sale and coupons. Regular price was $10.89.

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Pressed Translucent Powder
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/19/2013 3:40:00 PM

I love this powder. Too often I've bought "translucent" powder and it goes on too chalky and light on my NC42 complexion. This one mattifies my oily skin and blends right in without making me pale. Plus it's so cheap! Love it!

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing eye makeup remover liquid
rated 2 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:40:00 PM

Since this stuff is so oily, it should remove eye makeup easily, but it takes a lot of rubbing and scrubbing to get all my mascara off. Not impressed at all with this. Ponds cold creams works better, and is cheaper. Also, I hate the lid. You have to push down and twist to get it off, like rx bottles, and the bottle has a huge mouth. It's too easy to knock over and spill. This was $6.49 for 4 oz at CVS, but it's on sale this week and with the coupon you can get two for $2.

Cleansers -Almay - Make up remover towelettes
rated 2 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:33:00 PM

Not impressed with these at all. Huggies wipes work way better, and they were designed to clean up babies. These towelettes are expensive ($6.49 for 25 at CVS), and they don't really work unless I add liquid remover to them, which sort of defeats the purpose. I may as well just use cotton balls. I gave them a shot since they were on sale this week and I had a coupon (BOGO 1/2 off, plus $4 off at CVS). In the future I'll stick to Huggies wipes which are a way better deal ($2 for 72 at Target), and I don't have to add anything to them.

Scrubs -Biore - Acne Clearing Scrub
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:28:00 PM

I only bought this because I got a fantastic deal - it was practically free. There was a $3 coupon in my magazine, plus it was on sale for $7 at CVS with ECBs coming... so with tax and CVS coupons, it ended up being less than a dollar. Anyway, it smells AMAZING. I can't think of a beauty product I use that smells nicer than this, apart from perfumes. Just so fresh and yummy. I rubbed this into my face and left it on for about an hour as a mask, since my pores were kind of yucky, then I used my scrublet to lather it up and rinsed. So impressed!! The directions didn't say to use it as a mask, but I wanted the salicylic acid to really get into my pores so I left it on. I'll definitely repurchase this.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - AndesNature - Reafirma - Antioxidant Cabernet Cream
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:21:00 PM

I have oily skin that tends to break out so I normally don't wear any moisturizers, but this smelled so good I had to buy it. That's right, I bought it solely for its scent. It smells like grapes and brings me right back to my childhood. Instead of my usual Latin Girl skin cream, I used this, and it didn't break me out or irritate my skin at all. It's a thick, rich white cream that absorbs quickly. I got it in the Mexican product section at Rite Aid for $4.79 with $2 rewards back. I also saw it at CVS for $3.99. Not bad for 5 oz.

Polishes -Sinful - Charmed
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/17/2013 3:06:00 PM

This is a silver glitter polish with flecks of pink, green, and gold. Not exactly original, but it's very pretty and is opaque in 2 coats. Also it dries very fast. I put on two layers of top coat, and it still feels gritty though. I think I need a backup of this.

Eye Shadow -Almay - intense i-color liquid shadow + color primer For Green Eyes
rated 3 of 5
ayngemac 4/17/2013 2:39:00 PM

As an eyeshadow, it's too sparkly and doesn't have enough pigment, but it works okay as a primer. There are only 4 colors to choose from, too. I got this at CVS for $2 after the sale and with my coupon. I definitely would not pay $8.29 for this. Jesse's Girl eyeshadow primer works much better (as well as UDPP) and is only $5.99 at Rite Aid.

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color Bold Nudes for Hazel
rated 3 of 5
ayngemac 4/17/2013 2:34:00 PM

These colors are so pretty in the pan, but they barely show up at all unless you use primer. Also I think $8 is too much. I picked this up at CVS though, on sale (BOGO 1/2 off) plus there were $4 coupons in the Sunday paper.

Lipstick -Revlon - Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
rated 3 of 5
ayngemac 4/16/2013 6:18:00 PM

I was expecting "matte" when I saw "suede" on the label, but this is more like a gel stain. It doesn't offer the same pigmentation as a matte lipstick, but it doesn't dry out my lips and the stain lasts most of the day. A little disappointed but I don't dislike it. I got two colors, and both of them are lighter on my lips than I expected. I picked these up at CVS, since they are BOGO 1/2 off, plus there are $1 Revlon coupons floating around, and $3 coupons printing out of the red box when you scan your card, so I got both for $4 with tax, and I got a $5 ECB reward, too! Great deal.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Lady Speed Stick 24/7
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/15/2013 3:23:00 PM

I really love this. It's a clear gel that dries quickly and lasts all day. It really keeps me dry, and I like the smell, too. The container is well-designed. One click and enough comes out for one application. It doesn't get all messy, either. Got it at CVS dirt-cheap.

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - Lip Therapy (mini jar) - Cocoa Butter
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/15/2013 3:09:00 PM

This works great as a lip balm, and I love the cute jar. However, I later found a full-sized jar (212 grams) for the same price ($3)! I can fill a bunch of tins with one jar and save big bucks! I scooped some into my Japonesque lipstick palette to turn my lipsticks into sheer glosses. I really like the scent; the regular Vaseline's smell makes me shudder.
