Blush -Maybelline - stage glow
VegetaFanGirl 11/3/2012 9:57:00 PM
As mentioned by the reviewer below me, this is a Limited Edition blush (precisely why I bought it- I'm a sucker for limited editions!) from 2011. I personally really like this shade- it is not a blush, but rather an awesome highlighter. It is a very sheer shade of cool-toned light pink and is very shimmery. I think it shows up great on any skin tone and is very buildable. Also, it is one of those highlights that actually shows up on your face- the color AND the sparkles!! It stays on okay, I honestly did not really bother to keep track of that. It is a very flattering sparkling highlighter, and it looks absolutely amazing in natural light. Plus, since it was a limited edition, you can buy it now at discount stores for super cheap! Definetely recommend this product!

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Bouncy Blush - Coffee Cake
VegetaFanGirl 11/3/2012 9:40:00 PM
This is a tricky blush to use. I like it, don't get me wrong, but Coffee cake is simply a very tricky color- it is somewhere in the middle of rose and bronze. It is beautiful when you swatch it and it is initially a great color. For me, the blush reacts to different foundations I use. It is pretty good with most matte, sheer liquid foundations, but when I used a mineral foundation or a full-coverage foundation, Coffee Cake turned into an odd brown color. Sounds kinda odd, I know. Also, it turns into a different color with darker foundations. In cold weather, this blush refuses to work, but in the summer, it basically becomes a thing of putty. It does have great staying power and doesn't rub off, which is quite great. It is also very easy to apply, which is a great plus- I am awful at making my (powder) blushes look even! Coffee Cake is also cheap, about $7, and I will probably purchase more of the blushes in the Dream Bouncy series. However, I cannot exactly take sides here for this blush! It just reacts weirdly on me!

Eye Shadow -Ulta - eyeshadow quad
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 2:18:00 PM
I enjoyed these eyeshadow quads. I have two of them, bit really gonna bother to say which because I do not wish to rifle through my stuff. To put it concisely, the colors are not arranged as thoughtfully as I would have liked, but they still are pretty nice. The pigmentation is pretty great and, depending on which quad you get, some are more pressed than others. That does not matter because the color payoff is great, and I have not experienced creasing or fading with these shadows. They are a bit pricey- $10-$12 for some of these, so I personally do not think that these are the kind of quads that you should buy in bulk. Still, you get good value for your money, and that's what's nice.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Cupcake 100% Natural Lipgloss
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 2:07:00 PM
I would consider this as a mediocre lipgloss. I am not the most consistent lipgloss user, but I got this in a set, so sure, I'll keep it. What I found really cool is the color- if Nars Orgasm blush was a liplgloss, this would be it (peachy pink with golden shimmer). It is very pigmented, and the color is nice, just not my ideal preference. Cupcake is a pretty thick lipgloss, and just a teeny bit sticky. The smell or taste of it is not super- it tastes like chemistry and it smells artificial and overpowering. It does look nice and everything, and the color looks really neat in the sun. It is $15, which is quite a bit for a lipgloss. It is okay, nothing to rave over, just a nice, shimmery lipgloss.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 1:52:00 PM
No. Just no. I thought this was going to be a great product because of the hype around mousse and whipped and creme foundations and all that stuff. I enjoyed it less and less as I used it more and more. For one thing, it is almost impossible to get even coverage with this product. Because of its sheer nature, it was practically impossible to get it to be even all over. I use a brush with this, and it leaves awful foundation streaks everywhere! Using fingers does not work either, and foundation sponges also fail. It is buildable, but I don't think you wanna build any more of this on your face. It looks very cakey if you pile it in one place. The formula is very dry (almost chalky), and it probably will not do good on dry skin. However, it does stay for a long time and the color selection is nice if you have warm skin tones, like me. Still, that is outweighed by the poor coverage and poor evenness of this product! For $10, will not be buying again. Ever.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Explosion Waterproof
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 1:39:00 PM
I thought that this would be a really cool waterproof mascara because of the size of the wand- because big wands and waterproof mascaras really do not mix! I was right. There are mixed reviews in this mascara, I have noticed- some love it, some hate it. I side with the people who love it, because I feel that it worked for me. I have really short lashes, and this did a good job of lengthening them. It does not volumize a lot, and it does harden the lashes, but those are only minor setbacks. I have read from some people that the brush has too much product; but for me, this brush does not have enough product! I literally need to use the tube part of the wand too layer on the product, and use the brush itself to separate it for maximum results. I like that it does stay in the water pretty well (I'm a swimmer), and there is minimal smudging. When you take it off, the mascara tends to come off in flakes, an fyi just in case that bothers anyone. I found the packaging to be really crappy, though; you can literally scratch the name off the tube! This product is a bit more pricey for $9, but other than that, it is a great waterproof mascara!

Eye Shadow -L.A. Colors - Supernatural 12 Eyeshadow
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 1:26:00 PM
I personally did not enjoy this eyeshadow as much as some of the other palettes in this collection. I absolutely loved one of Supernatural's sister palettes, Chic, but I am honestly not a fan here. There is a diverse selection of blue shadows, yes, but where can anyone wear blue eyeshadow anymore without being stereotyped? I did not use this palette too much in the first place, but I did manage to get the jist of this product. Some colors are a hit, some a miss; some are chalky and loose, some are way too pressed. Pigmentation was so-so; a little in the middle. I did use the grey shades a lot, and they seemed better than the blue ones, quality-wise. At least this palette was cheap for only $1!! I would not be purchasing again- at least I cannot complain about the price.

Eye Shadow -L.A. Colors - 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Chic
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 1:18:00 PM
Wow... I never thought I would be writing a glowing review on an eyeshadow palette that I bought for 90 cents at BigLots. All you stereotypers of cheap products, please hear me out- I am also one who questions anything that is either not world-renouned (is that how you spell it?) and ridiculously cheap. Honestly, I did not know what came over me to buy this product. In this palette of 12 EYESHADOWS, you get a wide variety of pinks, mauves, light purples, and even a brown. I love the pigmentation that these have!! Surprisingly, they are also very blendable and do not crease or fade, when used with primer. They are also nicely scented! My only issue is the initial fallout, when you first put them on, but other than that, these are absolutely incredible shadows for their price. And remember- 90 FREAKING CENTS!

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color 032 trio for blues
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 12:50:00 PM
I am quite satisfied with this eyeshadow! I do not have blue eyes, I have brown, but I tend to stray from suggested colors and I bought this trio. First off, I love the colors; a taupe, navy blue and a light pink. They also seem to vary by pigmentation; the pink is the least pigmented while the taupe and navy blue have great color payoff. These colors are pretty blendable; a bit on the chalky side, but still very nice. The staying power (with primer) is good, and I have not experienced fading or fallout. It is also a cheap trio, for about $5. You do get a lot of eyeshadow for that price. It is a great trio, but not just for blue eyes; I personally believe this could work with any eye color.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 12:30:00 PM
Great cream eyeliner! I have noticed that these have been discontinued because I bought one in a discount store and could not find them in drugstores. It is so sad that they discontinued these!! I personally love this eyeliner- it is a gorgeous dark purple, literally eggplant colored. It is still dark enough that it doesn't scream purple, yet it is still noticeably violet. That is what I love most- if you are looking for a work or school appropriate purple liner, then this is for you. It is also very smooth to apply and is great for making wings and little flares. It stays on pretty well throughout the day with some primer and does not fade or smudge. The liner comes with a little brush, which is also handy for those who do not already own a liner brush. It's pretty pricey, though, for a drugstore liner; originally, the package was $12! I got mine for $3, and you can probably get a good deal on it too since it's been discontinued. Overall, love it!!

Eye Shadow -Max Factor - Vivid Impact Eyeshadow Duo (all shades)
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 12:21:00 PM
These were not very good products, imo. I own two of these, got them at Christmas Tree Shops for $1.69 each, so I cannot complain about the price! The two I have are 100 (The gold and fuschia one) and 110 (the lime green and chocolate brown one). Sorry, I do not know the names for these! Anyway, I find these a bit tricky to use. For one thing, I am not a fan of loose shadows in the first place; for some reason, they do not seem to cooperate with me. It is sort of frustrating trying to use the given applicator to put these shadows on because there is way too much shadow on them, which leads to tons of fallout. You need to use a brush to blend what you put on. Also, these shadows tend to fade after a while, so that's a minus. They are really chalky, but still blendable. I will still use these, but will not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Intense ShadowBlast
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 11:53:00 AM
I am honestly not finding much to rave about over this product. Yeah, it's a Covergirl cream shadow. Yeah, it has built-in primer. Yeah, it's metallic and reflective and has great staying power and pigmentation and is cheap and etcetera. It is a good eyeshadow, I agree with a lot of reviewers below me about most aspects of this product. I own the one in 805 Platinum Pop, and it does perform really well (to be on the safe side, however, I still use primer). I like how it is also waterproof to an extent. It is also blendable, but it does tend to dry quickly so you better blend quick. So...yeah. I like it, but I am not going to shower it with dry praise because, for me, this was not anything new.

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition Volumizing mascara
VegetaFanGirl 10/29/2012 11:41:00 AM
This is a pretty good product. Not my favorite mascara result-wise, but it still is a great product. I got this in a bareMinerals set a while ago and I finally got around to using it- I was quite pleased. First off, the wand is pretty large, but unlike many other mascaras out there, this one does not pose too much of a problem (even to my tiny lashes). You can get enough product onto the lashes without having the wand touch your eyelids. Also, I love the formula. The formula of the mascara is super smooth- it feels like it glides onto my lashes, if you know what I'm saying. The results, for me, anyway, of this mascara were lots of length and definition. I would not call this so much a volumizing mascara- it is better for length. Great for everyday looks! However, I do agree with the name- it does give flawless definition. Somehow, bareMinerals has worked around the tricky aspect of big brush and clump-free definition! It is easy to take off, and it does have a bit of flaking to it. I also like the packaging- nothing flambuyoant, just a black tube with the name on it. That is the best kind of no-sh*t packaging out there! It is a very cheap high end mascara for only $18. *EDIT* I was using this mascara and one day...I saw the mascara...and the tube was smashed because of the weight of other stuff in my purse. Now that's what I call crappy packaging!

Highlighters -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaShimmer in Shimmer Dust 262A White Lotus
VegetaFanGirl 9/21/2012 10:57:00 PM
To me, this highlighter was very hard to control! It was easy to get too much onto my brush and onto my face. It isn't a bad highlighter in itself, kinda satin-y almost in finish, but not a bad product. The packaging sucks big time- it is so hard trying to twist a cap onto the square little box thing. I can't get it open, either. However, the highlighter stays nicely on the face, and is awesome for dewy finishes. Plus, it's super cheap for like $2!

Lipstick -Ulta - Nude Shimmer
VegetaFanGirl 9/21/2012 10:50:00 PM
Personally, I thought that this had way too much shimmer and not enough nude. Pretty much, when I put it on, it felt like I put dried glitter glue on my lips. It doesn't look half bad, though, which is what saved this product from getting one star. To me, it felt kind of rough on my lips....idk why, but it wasn't fun. It dries on my lips very quickly, so you gotta reapply a lot. I'd use this if I absolutely had to, but I wouldn't repurchase.
