Eyeliner -NYX - retractable eye liner
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 2/6/2013 3:02:00 AM

NYX products are a great value and this eyeliner is another winner! Purchased lime green and turquoise blue (nice dupe for UD 24/7 in Clash) to use as a pop of color on my lower lash line and they work great! More long-lasting than UD 24/7 and much cheaper too! The shade selection is awesome and if you're a UD fan like me, and on a budget, these are a great dupe! My only minor complaint is they smudge after 8 hours of wear, I always put primer underneath to help with this. My eyelids are so oily that it interferes with any eyeliner I wear, so keep that in mind! Great pigmentation, especially the lime green.

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
UrbanObsession 2/6/2013 2:35:00 AM

Love the concept for this..a skin-matching foundation is a great idea for people like me who struggle finding their right match. However, the formula isn't pigmented enough to provide coverage of blemishes and dark spots I have. Instead of labeling this product as makeup, it should be considered a tinted moisturizer! After an hour of wear, it slides off my face and oxidizes like crazy. Only reason why I gave it 2 stars is that it didn't irritate my sensitive skin and I like the concept, so hopefully Almay will improve their formula for those of us with less than perfect skin.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Tea Tree Oil
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 2/3/2013 4:52:00 PM

I picked this up at my local organic grocery and it's truly a godsend for breakouts! I put a drop on a cotton swap with an equal amount of water and apply directly to spots...within a few hours, the swelling goes down and isn't so painful to the touch. Only gripe is that it's drying at times and leaves the area around the pimple flaky. Otherwise, I love this stuff and it's all natural!! Also use a drop with my toothpaste for lasting fresh breath! There's so many uses for tea tree oil because it acts as a natural antiseptic, so the uses are almost endless! Ingrown hair or nail? Tea tree reduces inflammation and kills bacteria and is safe to apply on skin and nails, my recommendation is to dilute it with some water so it's not as drying. Love this!! The only spot treatment that truly does what it's supposed to and speeds healing time of skin abrasions.

Cleansers -Equate - Original Clean facial cleaning towelettes
rated 5 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/29/2013 6:10:00 AM

This is a go-to product for me in my beauty routine because it removes ALL my eye makeup and foundation without irritation. I buy the pack of 120 count at Walmart for about $6 and they last me months. I prefer Equate cleansing towelettes to all the other brands I've tried (Garnier, Ponds, Aveeno, Neutrogena, etc). I prefer these in terms of fragrance(light scent) texture(very soft) and performance(they take off everything!) My skin is acne-prone and very sensitive so it's rare that I find a product which doesn't break me out or leave skin around my eyes irritated. I recommend these to all my friends & the wipes are especially good for removing heavy mascara or waterproof formulas. Other more expensive brands don't compare! They also work in a "pinch" when I'm too lazy to wash my face.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/24/2013 5:37:00 AM

This is a good & cheap toner for oily skin all over! For years, I've struggled with the embarrassment of acne on my chest and back, and tried many remedies to cure it (vinegar, salacylic acid, exfoliating, benzoyl peroxide etc). Nothing has made a difference like Witch Hazel. My review is solely based on my experience applying it with a cotton round to my back and chest every night for the past year. The breakouts are gone and I'm so happy with my clear skin. The only gripe I have is the smell- it reeks of alcohol, but dissipates after a few minutes. I've tried this HG on my face too, but found it drying. If anyone out there is struggling with "bacne" or unsightly blemishes on their body, I suggest you try this miracle product NOW!

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
rated 5 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/24/2013 5:17:00 AM

My Derm gave me a sample of this amazing product to reduce the dry, flaky patches on my face caused from using Retin-A. I was hesitant to try Aquaphor for fear of breaking out or that it would make my skin look oily. I'm happy to say that this is my new HG & it has many uses besides a spot treatment for my face, I also use it to moisturize my lashes, hands, and feet. You only need a tiny amount and it lasts all-day, I've even used it underneath foundation with good results. Love this stuff & will repurchase once I run out.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/24/2013 5:01:00 AM

After reading that this product is an exact dupe for my HG Purpose facial cleanser, I decided to give it a try! It works just as well, only it's $2 cheaper and contains more product. It smells faintly of chamomile flowers and bar soap, which may be irritating for those with very sensitive skin to fragrances. What I love about this product is it removes ALL my makeup without causing breakouts or redness. The reason why I took off one lippy is that it can be drying and leave skin flaky during these cold winter months. I counteract this by only using it once-a-day. Recommended for acne-prone gals like me who are on a budget!

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
rated 2 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/9/2013 3:40:00 AM

It seems I'm in the minority here, but this product is nothing amazing. For reference, my skin is yellow toned, oily, and has mild acne scars so I'm always on the quest for a new HG....but this isn't it! Bought the shade Medium-Light, the closest match to my actual skin tone (which is more yellow). It's a bummer Hard Candy's shade variety is so limited. I've tried applying this product in a variety of ways- with my fingers, a foundation brush, and concealer brush with no avail. After an hour of wear it starts to slide off my face and looks cakey (mind you, I only use the tiniest drop!) It broke my skin out after only a week of use, so sensitive, acne-prone gals BEWARE! The only time I use glamoflage is to fill in underneath my eyebrows or as an eyeshadow base, otherwise it's oily trash!

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - 510 Light Beige Frost
rated 5 of 5
UrbanObsession 1/9/2013 3:27:00 AM

Love my Wet n Wild lipsticks and this is my favorite shade! The shade of it is misleading because its called "Light Beige Frost" but is actually Peachy-pink frost that borders on salmon color! Looks great with my skin tone and I think it would look flattering on most everyone. The formula is very nice & never drying! Get it for a buck...you can't lose!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lipstick - Warm Me Up
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 12/24/2012 6:38:00 PM

This shade really flatters my coloring and lips! As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a MLBB kinda shade and I prefer pinks over nudes when it comes to lip color because they pop and accentuate full lips. Warm me up is a tawny-medium pink shade that is a satin finish without shimmer. My only complaint is the formula is quite drying, especially in the dead of winter here in Michigan! To counteract this, I apply lip balm prior to application and it doesn't dry my lips out so badly. Ill repurchase, but I'm sure it will last me a lifetime because I'm a lipstick junkie and change shades on a daily basis- this color is especially good for work/business settings.

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit
rated 5 of 5
UrbanObsession 12/24/2012 6:28:00 PM

This fragrance is so yummy! The review is for the EDT, which smells strongly of cologne and lime zest upon first spritz, but dries down to a woodsy vanilla amber that invites compliments everywhere I go! I've repurchased this scent a few times now and I especially love it for fall/winter season! But I hate the price:( $50 for 1 fl oz. is crazy! However, the staying power and "throw" of Brit is better than any other fragrance I've tried(everything from drugstore to high end)! It lasts 10 hours and I can still smell the gourmand notes lingering on my skin at the end of the day. Love! I recommend to anyone that likes woodsy or vanilla perfumes.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 10/11/2012 1:29:00 AM

So glad I found this product on MUA! Always have EVOO in my pantry but I never thought to use it as a beauty treatment. It's cheap and very moisturizing on my wintry skin & hair. How I use it is as an overnight mask for my coarse, frizzy hair which was recently highlighted, I coat my hair with a thin layer and cover it in a shower cap while I sleep. EVOO make my split ends less noticeable and my hair is so smooth when I wash it in the morning! Also use it as a hair serum, just avoid applying it to your roots because it looks greasy...this makes an amazing serum for coarse or relaxed hair and works better for me than anything else I've tried to de-fuzz it. My only complaint is the smell, which reminds me of a deep fryer and it does not absorb completely into my skin or hair. EVOO has been a go-to for me lately for added moisture on my legs and feet. I'm too scared to use it on my face because I'm severely acne-prone and oily, but I use it everywhere else. Love this natural treatment and its my new HG.

Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara
rated 4 of 5
UrbanObsession 10/4/2012 12:24:00 AM

This is the only product I use on my brows because I'm too lazy to fill them in! It keeps my brows from looking unruly and gives them a polished look ALL DAY! My skin is oily, yet this stays in place without flaking off. I have not used the lash side because I don't care for lash primer/gloss. My only complaint is like other reviewers, I wish it wasn't double-ended because the packaging is bulky and I do not use the other side. Once I run out of brow gel, I might flip over to the lash side so I don't waste product. Will gladly repurchase for $1 this is great stuff!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
UrbanObsession 10/4/2012 12:17:00 AM

AWESOME and cheap liquid liner! It's only $2 and lasts 12 hours even on my very oily eyelids. Much better than any other ds brand I've tried, it applies smoothly and precisely without irritating my eyes. I've previously used felt-tip liners, and this has a regular liner brush, but I find it just as easy to apply. I have it in black and it dries very pigmented and matte on my lids. I plan on trying other colors and will definitely repurchase. No complaints on packaging, it is simple and sturdy. HG for sure!

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
rated 2 of 5
UrbanObsession 10/3/2012 11:50:00 PM

I really wanted to love this product as I'm always looking for a good finishing powder! My skin is super oily and breakout prone, so I need a powder that mattifies without adding cakiness or oil. This product is very light and smooth, I buff it on with a powder brush after my foundation to set makeup. Unfortunately, it tends to highlight my enlarged pores and break me out. :( it is good for mattifying properties, but I just don't like the way this makes my skin look! I feel pasty and uneven when I use it and it does not provide any coverage. Acne-prone gals like myself should avoid this one. I recommend the Milani multitasker powder as a finishing product instead.
