This is definitely a super sweet fragranced soap, so if you find those type scents nauseating, beware. I however love it. I got a nice sized block from Lush for $12, and I only intend on using it during baths, since it seems from past reviewers Godmother disintegrates in the shower. Rasberry colored soap that "stains" your washcloth and water and it does not lather well. It does leave a ring around your tub :-(. But it does clean well and leaves your skin nicely fragranced. Took off a star because of the price and lack of lather. Otherwise a great soap for body product lovers.
Others have described this as deep red wine and I would have to agree. Extremely pigmented, a little goes a long way. A skunk brush would be perfect for applying this. Awesome shade for women of color.
Lipstick -MAC - Marquise D' (Blonde Brunette Redhead)
TopNote 3/12/2011 9:17:00 PM
Peachy nude laced with a soft golden shimmer. The texture reminds me a lot of MAC Shy Girl. This has just enough sheerness to make it wearable by many. This is a great everyday shade to wear.
I kind of liked the fact this lipstick isn't opaque because it makes it easy to pull off with my skin color. A sheer cool cotton candy pink that does apply sheer, but its buildable. I like to wear this with a shimmery gloss on top, so pretty. Not very moisturizing though. I still like this shade and would repurchase.
At first I loved this foundation. Its easy and quick to apply and it applied with a matte finish and I found a perfect match. But it does nothing to slow oil breakthrough and as the previous reviewer stated, it transfers onto everything. Do not wear this to a function where you will be hugging people cause it will ruin everyone's clothes, including your own. I'll wear this only when I'm making a quick trip away from home or around the house but wearing this one all day would be impossible.
This is one of the BEST reds ever....and its dirt cheap. I wore this today and got a bunch of compliments on this color. A deep red that's not too loud but not too demure either. I think this one leans more to the warm side. Texture is smooth and moisturizing. A must have for dark skinned ladies that love to wear reds. I wore this all day with no fading. This lipstick is also numbered #5005 and is only $ 1.99 at Walmart.
OMG, this looked HORRIBLE on me!! I was shocked to see how bad it looked since it seemed so much like a wearable nude in pics. I couldn't even save it with a darker lip liner. A chalky beige tan that looks pasty pale on my lips. This stuff is the color of hummus, lol, for real. This is one shade you definitely need to TRY ON before you decide to buy or not. Back to MAC it goes, so disappointed cause I was looking forward to this one.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
TopNote 2/15/2011 11:02:00 AM
For the price this is an excellent trio. Great neutral colors that blend easy. I do wish it was a tad pigmented, but for 3 dollars I can deal with that. These trios are hard to find so if you happen to see them buy them while you can.
Pretty irridescent pale easter egg blue in the tube, but on the lips its basically gives sheer/clearish pale nude color. Probably a good gloss for toning down garishly bright lipsticks, or wearing on its own for a super natural look. But basically it is like having an clear gloss for those of us with pigmented lips. Nice to play with but will not repurchase.
If you like these shades....Lady Gaga, Ever So Rich, Going Casual, Viva Glam VI SE or any pale lilac shades or shades with lavender undertones you may love Lazy Day. Its a pale but sheer soft lilac. Its a lustre so the texture is quite smooth and creamy. I noticed a lot of people saying its pink but I just don't see pink when I look at this lippie. Great alternative to wearing basic nudes. A part of the Marine Life collection of 2010 and long discontinued.
This does look a lot like MAC Viva Glam VI SE as mentioned by a previous reviewer, so if you missed out on that lippie Mauve is an excellent dupe. They both look the same to me on my lips. Still a tad dryish, and I do have to wear a darker lipliner to make this more wearable on my NC45-50 skin. Looks great with Oyster Girl lipglass on top. This shade is being discontinued.
Excellent no budge liner that is a true black that makes a dream for oily skinned ladies. BUT there are a few things I don't like. I absolutely hate the crappy brush on the applicator! Its too thick, the bristles splay to the side, and it makes a neat application diffiucult. Because this liner is no budge, it sucks having to try to clean up your mistake without messing up the entire line. When it gets on my lashes its almost impossible to remove. I do love that it wears like IRON, this stuff is NOT coming off without a good cleansing oil and even with that you have to put your back into it when scrubbing this off. This is perfect for me to wear at night at work and not having to worry if my liner is all over my face.
Great soft lilac shade that add a sheer wash of color to the lips. I love the smooth and creamy texture, but its the reason that this gloss does not last on the lips more than an hour. Nice to use instead of the basic boring beige and brown nudes.
Bath Treatments -Carol's Daughter - Almond Cookie Bath and Body Oil
TopNote 1/16/2011 7:34:00 AM
Great Bath oil with a lovely scent. I apply this while my skin is still wet from the shower. And cause I love the scent so much I think I will also use this in my hair. I think the Tui hair oil and this have pretty much the same base ingredients.
This stuff is.....strong!! I can see how this heavy floral scent can be easily over applied, because IMO even one spray is too much. I wore this recently cause I have a sample spray vial of it. I remember my mom loving this in the 90s, but to me its reeks of mature woman (like 50 and over). It does smell considerably better on the dry down a bunch of hours later. Too heavy and potent for my taste.
