Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 3 of 5

UPDATE (Nov.19, 2012): It makes me break out... I can't use it too often, but if I'm having an especially dry face day I still use it before I put on makeup. (5 starts down to 3). Where has this stuff been all of my life?! I've finally found a HG moisturizer. I am so glad I gave this product a try after reading different reviews on MUA. I moved to Maine a couple years ago from the Mid West and starting in fall my skin starts to get ridiculously dry. I've tried a couple different facial moisturizers and have had at best mediocre results and at worse a full face of small bumps that made me look like I had a disease for a couple weeks... This moisturizing cream is by far the best I have ever tried. It's inexpensive as well! You only need the smallest amount (a pea sized or less) so this container is going to last forever. There is no smell, stinging or need to reapply multiple times to keep my face from getting dry. It does take a bit to soak in completely. It's much better (if not exclusively) for night time application. If you are planing on using it before applying makeup use a very SMALL bit, because if there is any part of your face that it hasn't soaked into all the way, you will look like an oily mess and the makeup will literally melt off of your face. Other than that, I have no complaints. It does the job I bought it to do.

Polishes -Essie - Little Brown Dress
rated 5 of 5
TiffanieJean 10/26/2011 1:57:00 PM

This is a great dark espresso type brown color. Very fall appropriate. I have very pale skin and it doesn't wash me out as much as a straignt black color, but still has all or the contrast that I love. It actually looks black most of the time, but if you are in bright artificial light or outside it definitely has a brown hint to it. I added a picture in artificial light as well as a picture of the true bottle color. Essies formula is somewhat strange to me. It's streaky, but slightly goopy at the same time.. I only use one coat, but go over every nail about 3 times to keep it looking presentable. It goes on flat and opaque with one coat, and dries fast. The biggest issue I have with Essie is the small thin brush.. It's honestly one of the worst brushes of all polishes I have used. You would think that for close to $8 they would fix that. O well, good thing they have gerat colors!

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Cherry Blossom Shower Gel

I like the smell, but I'm giving this a 2 because it's a completely generic. You can buy Suave's Cherry Blossom Body wash for $1.50 and never know it was any different.

I go back and forth buying this body wash and the Suave Cherry Blossom body wash. Both are a great value for only $1.50, and are almost exact dupes of Bath & Body Works body washes for 1/4 the price (cherry blossom smells exactly the same). Good job Suave!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Cherry Blossom Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5

This was my favorite lotion from BBW for a couple years. Then they came out with the Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance. It's similar, but much more unique. I still like this one but I'm going to give it a 3 out of 5 because there are so many other lotions that smell just like it (for less money).

Best smelling Bath & Body Works lotion, by far! It's a lot more hydrating than the regular body lotion, but for the price it the moisturized feeling could last longer.. However, the smell more than makes up for that. I used to get it all the time. I moved a while back and there isn't a BBW anywhere around here. I miss this lotion. Unlike a lot of their other lotions that are copied by just about everyone, I have never found anything else that smells remotely like it.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Coffee Bean"
rated 5 of 5
TiffanieJean 10/21/2011 12:20:00 PM

I am in LOVE with these Eyeshadow Quads by Revlon! I have 3 Quads which are Copper Spice, Coffee Bean and Starlight. I initially had reservations about buying these eyeshadows because of the shimmer they had, but I am SO glad I gave it a try anyways. Once they are on you cant tell there is a whole lot of shimmer at all. They have become one of my few must have/irreplaceable makeup items. I use Copper Spice and Coffee Bean every day (Starlight very rarely.. It's really the only disappointing Quad). I use a combo of colors from both Quads. I use the two light tans in Coffee Bean for blending mostly. I used to use all of the colors before I bought Copper Spice. I have very pale skin, red hair and blue/gray eyes, so these plane but beautiful colors are absolutely perfect for me. The result is flawless and deceptively natural. What more could I ask for? I think the colors are neutral enough to work for anyone. This Quad is definitely a must have basic of tans and browns. The eyeshadows are very pigmented for a DS brand. Definitely the best quality for the price I have found. However, you do have to use it liberally if you want the colors very dark (Some of the colors are more pigmented than others). The eyeshadows blend easily and really do last all day. Theres no smudging and very little fading, if any. These Quads seem to last forever. Ill be re-buying these as soon as I need to.

Once they are on you cant tell there is a whole lot of shimmer at all. They have become one of my few must have/irreplaceable makeup items, especially the Copper Spice Quad. I use Copper Spice and Coffee Bean every day (Starlight very rarely.. It's really the only disappointing Quad). I use a combo of colors from both Quads, but heavily favor the Copper Spice Quad. I have very pale skin, red hair and blue/gray eyes, so these plane but beautiful colors are absolutely perfect for me. The result is flawless and deceivingly natural. I actually use a little bit of the most coppery color for my eyebrows because it's a dead on match to my hair color as well. What more could I ask for? I think the colors in Copper Spice are neutral enough to work for anyone, but if you have light colored eyes or have red hair it's a must have. The eyeshadows are very pigmented for a DS brand. I hope they keep Copper Spice around for a very long time. I wouldn't even know how to replace it.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12 hour Eyeshadow Quad Starlight
rated 2 of 5
TiffanieJean 10/20/2011 6:01:00 PM

I am in LOVE with these Eyeshadow Quads by Revlon! I have 3 Quads which are Copper Spice, Coffee Bean and Starlight. However, I have to say that Starlight is by far the lowest quality and the biggest disappointment of the 3. I initially had reservations about buying these eyeshadows because of the shimmer they had. The 2 darker Quads go on without as much sparkle (I use Copper Spice and Coffee Bean every day), but Starlight is horrible! I feel like a 12 year old when I wear this stuff, even if it's just for highlights and the eye corners.. The Quads are very pigmented for a DS brand, but these light colors barely show up on my very pale skin. I think the reason the sparkle is so noticeable is because I have to use so much of it to make it show up. All 4 shades are almost the same as well.. The eyeshadows blend easily and really do last all day. Theres no smudging and very little fading, if any. That's why I gave this a 2 instead of a 1. If you are considering buying one of the Colorstay Quads, pick a different set and it will be worth it.

This has become one of my few must have/irreplaceable makeup items. I use Copper Spice and Coffee Bean every day. Starlight is only good for highlighting and the corner of your eyes (It's really the only disapointing Quad). I have very pale skin, red hair and blue/gray eyes, so these plane but beautiful colors are absolutely perfect for me. I use a combo of colors from both Quads. Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 4 of 5
TiffanieJean 10/16/2011 12:58:00 PM

I love this liquid eyeliner, but it does have it's flaws. The biggest being the packaging. The brush is slightly hard to use, especially if you want a thin line.. It also starts to shed after a month or 2, which is incredibly annoying. The final problem is that after about 6 hrs, the liner will begin to smudge so DO NOT touch it. This eyeliner looks great, and it's inexpensive. I have very fair skin and the colors (both the brown and black) are perfect. The formula drys matte and quickly. I haven't found a liquid eyeliner that I like more, so I will continue to use this one.

Makeup Brushes -Revlon - Kabuki Brush

Great quality for the price. I've had this brush for about a year. No sheading or problems of any kind. I use it to apply powder foundation over my liquid foundation. It works perfectly, and never turns out cakey with this method. Definitely a must have for your makeup routine.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails - Clear
rated 4 of 5
TiffanieJean 10/16/2011 12:17:00 PM

I bought this stuff to help with a serious nail chipping/cracking problem. They were healthy for the longest time, and then started splitting and breaking all the way down to the finger. I couldn't get the slightest white tip to grow without a new split already starting to break it off. I've been using this as a base coat for about a month now, and I have had a serious improvement. I added a picture to show what it looks like as a base coat without polish. You have to follow the directions and apply it under and on top of your nails. I put it on, wait 3 days, put a second coat on, wait 3 days and then remove it and start over. My nails are growing stronger again since I started using this product. However, this Base Coat didn't get rid of the chipping.. The problem is still there, it just holds the chips together for the most part. I also started to use polish on top of it recently, and I haven't had any problems. I was expecting to have the polish chip off, because as a base coat it tends to start peeling off after a couple days. It actually helps to keep the polish longer, but I would not recommend using it as a top coat. There are far better products around for that purpose. The only negative other than the tendency to peel off is the horrible smell. I was considering buying a couple different base coats from other brands that were way more expensive, but I'm glad I gave this one a try first. Overall, I'm pleased with the results I got for only $2.50.
