Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips - Bunny
rated 5 of 5

I have used so many different colors in this Buxom line, and this one has to be my very favorite- If you are looking for that perfect shine with just a HINT of pale/sheer pink (YLBB), this is IT. The high-shine just lights up my face. It's not sparkly, necessarily, it just shines so brilliantly! Looks so nice in photos- makes lips look shiny and beautifully polished. I've had this one for a long time, but realized I hadn't reviewed it, and wanted to recommend it for anyone looking for a high-shine gloss thats not sticky or uncomfortable. Buxoms feel very comfortable on the lips, and smell and feel great. There are LOTS of gorgeous colors, but this one (Bunny) I can never be without.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/22/2011 10:56:00 PM

This had to be purchased after a SA applied it to my face and then I had to run to my hair sppointment, and when I walked in, the guy at the desk was like "OH MY GOD your FACE looks AMAZING!! Your SKIN is PERFECT"!!! I was like, "really"?! I thought it looked great, too, and then when my stylist took me back, she said basiclly the same thing- "Your skin looks amazing"!! So 2 different ppl who see me every month were amazed at how GREAT my skin looked. That did it for me. I was probably going to buy it anyway, but it made me feel way better about my purchase. It just looks like you have amazing, flawless, LUMINATING skin! It gives that beautiful dewy look and feel, but it is not oily! No oxidizing (like Chanel-ahem). I was a perfect match in shade #4. My skin isn't too bad on it's own, so I don't tend to need foundation to cover up flaws, but more for evening out reddish skin tone... I don't like heavy-feeling foundations, but the consistency was just right, it covered like perfection, and did not feel heavy or mask-ey.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Blush in Pink Coral
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/20/2011 3:33:00 AM

This is a super-wearable "coral" being that it is a LOT of pink. Being as cool as my coloring is, I can't really pull off a true coral, but get tired of wearing the "same ol" pinks. This one is the answer to what I was looking for! SO gorgeous- A very pink-y coral with lots of golden micro-shimmer. It brightens up my face just perfectly! It gives me a bit of warmth, but not too warm for a NW20 pale lady like myself :) Pretty highly pigmented and I hardly have to pack it on... a little goes a long way for sure! This was my first BB Blush and I am super impressed. I almost thought this might look a lot like NARS Super Orgasm, and it may be somewhat similar, but this one is brighter and pink-er. Which I love. *I also want to give props to Karla Sugar for her awesome website with detailed swatches of just about every makeup you could want for- that is where I saw this shade and fell in love and then had to have it. Her arm is so damn HELPFUL!! Thank you!!*

Treatments -Pureology - Perfect4Platinum Reconstruct Repair

"For Blondes with 4+ Levels of Lift"... Gosh- I was so excited to use this line, being that it seemed directed right at my exact type of hair- Bleached, platinum hair. I've given it a good amount of time, and none of the items in this line have impressed me! I feel awful to report this. It's all just "Meh". This deep conditioner is nice- But I get the same or better hydration from my trusty Suave Professionals Almond and Shea!! I am NOT a user of drugstore shampoos or any hair products, but this particular Suave has really impressed me. I don't think I'll be buying this again- If I need a good deep conditioner, I'd rather buy ENJOY mask. I'm sorry! I really wanted to fall in love with this line since it was marketed exactly for platinum blondes like myself :(

Conditioner -Pureology - Perfect4Platinum

"For Blondes with 4+ Levels of Lift"... I was REALLY excited about this line, and couldn't wait to try it all. But pretty much every item from this line has not done anything renarkable to my hair or to better it in any way. This conditioner is NOT BAD. It's just not as hydrating as I'd hoped. It would probably be OK as an every-day conditioner for some people. It's so weird that all my life I have been stuck-up and snobby when it came to salon hair products. I would have never let a drugstore shampoo or conditioner come NEAR my hair, but the cheapest brand of all, SUAVE Almond and Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner, has really done noticeable wonders for my type of hair. I've had a lot of MUA-ers thank me for rec'ing this, because they too have fallen in love with this, but there are a few who were not pleased. I dunno. Everyones hair is different. I'll be using my Suave over this stuff. It's cheap and it actually makes a visible, gorgeous difference in my bleached/dry hair.

Shampoo -Pureology - Perfect4Platinum
rated 3 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/20/2011 3:11:00 AM

"For Blondes with 4+ Levels of Lift"... This shampoo is nothing to complain about. It is vegan, it lathers very well, it has a Sky-Blue tint to it which may help eliminate brassiness in blondes, however, over the years I have learned that I have to use a deeper violet/darker blue shampoo weekly to keep my blonde bright and non-brassy. This shampoo actually leaves hair soft even before conditioner is applied, which is a nice plus. The smell is very nice. Like I said, no complaints here! I'm just not sure if it does enough wonderful things for my platinum hair to pay for this on a regular basis. I have been surprisingly happy and content with Suave professionals Shea and Almond butter. I don't know if I'd use this again. It's OK, but I'd just as well reach for my trusty 'ol Suave Professionals Almond and Shea :/

Treatments -Pureology - Perfect4Platinum Miracle Filler
rated 3 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/20/2011 3:09:00 AM

This is a leave-in treatment for pourous blondes with highlighted hair (specifically 4+ levels of lift). It "fills in gaps in hairs cuticle, leaving hair soft and shiny again"... I've been using this for a few weeks now, and I have to be honest- I don't see or feel any difference in my hair :( I'm so sad. I really liked the idea of helping my porous, bleached out hairs, but I don't think I'll be buying this again. It smells nice, it might detangle a bit, but nothing remarkable. Plus, the bottle is just about gone after only 6-7 uses? Meh. I hate giving bad reviews. This was just nothing special. Sorry :(

Lips -Kinerase - Dr. Lewinn - Lip Resculpt 3-D Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/16/2011 9:33:00 AM

I had to try this because it looked and sounded interesting (after reading the two reviews here) and also because I am a hopeless, shameless lip product junkie!! I would never stray away from my Holy Grail of Lip Balm which is By Terry Baume de Rose, however, this was a sort of "plumping treatment" and I had to try it. One of the reviewers below mentioned that it made her "vermillion border more defined"... I can totally understand what she meant by this now. After applying this, in a few minutes, that whole top border of the lip (vermillion border) literally plumps outward a bit! I was impressed. This is the route in which lip fillers are injected, so you can guess that the effects are at least somewhat similar. As the reviewer before me also said, it is not something so dramatic as to give one a "trout pout", but it definitely plumps! I've tried many plumping lip treatments and admittedly have never seen THIS happen before. So for $15, it might be something to try! The tube it comes in has a slanted applicator tip, and the product itself is quite thin- so be careful when you first squeeze- I squeezed too hard not knowing how thin it was and got a huge glob. It does moisturize nicely, and gives a really nice, clear shine. Nothing tacky, very natural looking. No offensive or annoying taste or smell noted. Not sticky in the least. I will update this review once I have used it longer, but this is a keeper, and I will more than likely be buying it again :) *I just want to make clear that this is not the best thing if you're looking for major hydration- it's more like a treatment. It's quite thin. I'm used to my super-moisturizing, lush and pillowy Baume de Rose. LOL.

Treatments (Eye) -Orlane - Radiance Lift Firming Eye Contour
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/16/2011 12:01:00 AM

This is a pretty incredible serum for the eyes. When the Orlane SA stopped me in Neiman Marcus to try their "eye treatment", I was like 'whatever' and let her apply it to my face. She applied this serum to only one of my eyes and had me hold up the mirror and watch. In the next few minutes, I literally saw a VISIBLE DIFFERENCE between my two eyes- the eye she had applied the serum to had significantly reduced the depth of my fine lines (those little crepe-y lines around/under the eyes). I was in dis-belief. I'm not exxaggerating here. I swear to God, I was amazed. Then she applied the serum to my other eye and I watched as those lines started to plump up right before my eyes. It's amazing how much younger you look when those little lines are gone. It made me want to buy this serum immediately and also made me REALLY depressed, because I'm 33 years old, and I do have these visible lines around my eyes as well as my mouth and marionette lines. It's a very sobering realization. I've been contemplating starting Botox soon, since it would help prevent my lines from deepening or worsening... But I think this serum is going to help out- If it is visibly lifting and plumping my lines, I can only imagine that it would help even more when applied regularly. Pretty amazing stuff! It is a pretty lightweight fluid serum with a pearlescent sheen to it.

Lip Treatments -La Mer - Lip Balm
rated 1 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/13/2011 11:50:00 PM

Hmm. All of these rave reviews, and I just don't get it? Makes me wonder if all of these people who LOVE La Mer Lip Balm have ever tried By Terry Baume de Rose?! I'd be willing to bet not. I've been hopelessly committed to Baume de Rose despite it's slightly higher price because it has been the most pillowy-soft, creamy, emulsifying, moisture-drenching lip balm I have ever tried. I figured I would give La Mer a try just out of curiosity... NO way. La Mer lip balm is thin, hard to dig into (whereas BdR all you do is tap your finger into the rich creaminess- it's like touching a jar of frosting). Anyway, La Mer was thin, barely hydrating, and hours later, my lips actually felt MORE dry than before I applied it. With BdR, even after it's worn off, my lips are soft, quenched, and full of moisture. La Mer balm feels like a cheap Burts Bees type of balm- seriously. It even kind of smells like Burts Bees. Do yourself a huge favor- TRY this before you buy it- then just spend the extra $20 or so and get yourself Baume de Rose. Thats the real thing- the best of the best. Your lips will LOVE it. Now I don't know what to do with this La Mer balm. I suppose I'll swap it away. I have no use for it.

Highlighters -NARS - Illuminator in Copacabana
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/13/2011 12:31:00 AM

This is some awesome stuff right here. I've been wanting to try NARS Multiples for years but it wasn't on the top of my list of priorities... Anyway, I read some reviews on here and of course, that compelled me to get over to Sephora and check out the Multiples- Particularly Copacabana- since I am fair skinned, and when I saw all the different Multiples swatched very nicely on Karla Sugars' arm, I was immediately drawn to Copacabana, being that it was light and cool... When I got to Sephora, I see these new illuminators in a squeeze tube, and picked up Copacabana. This little bottle was $29 but this bottle will last me forever. It only takes the tiniest bit to brighten up your face. And I remember in a lot of reviews for the Multiples, a lot of people didn't like how difficult they were to apply, because they were so solid and hard, and therefore didn't blend that well. This is definitely the solution. It is a creamy, fluid of the same beautiful color- it is a gorgeous beige-y color and looks awesome on my fair NC20 skin. Also, I am 33 years old and starting to get crows' feet and fine lines around my eyes, and was concerned that this might "magnify" my wrinkles, but it doesn't! Another thing- I usually run around without makeup on, and recently I've been chastising myself for not trying to look more "put together" when I'm in public (who knows when you might run into Mr. Perfect)? If I put this on my cheekbones and eyelids/browbone before running out the door, I instantly look like I have a glowing, flawless complexion! Yay! I'm glad I found these illuminators- Now I don't need the multiple- this seems a lot better :)

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Prélude Quadra Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/11/2011 9:33:00 AM

My God this is a stunner. When I first saw it, I knew it was a palette that I *HAD* to own. Now that I have it in my hands, I have absolutely ZERO regrets, and I believe it is one of the most beautiful, practical quad of colors I've seen in a long while. Even the lightest shade- the shell is not stark white, it is a creamy vanilla color with the slightest iridescence, and it blends into the skin SO naturally and beautifully! Being fair skinned, I have problems with lighter/highlight shades looking too OBVIOUS and GLARING- this one is so natural, and just brings a glow to highlight the look. So pretty! The other shades are amazing. I won't go into detail since others have already done so, but there is not a single shade in this palette that I will not use. I rarely wear makeup, but this one compells me to wear makeup more often. These colors are very complex- there is no simple way to describe them. This isn't like anything else you already own. By looking at it, I'd say it leans on the cool side, but it also looks neutral enough that even warmer tones would look gorgeous in these shades. I think this is a must-have.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Salon Technician Highlight Care
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/7/2011 6:42:00 PM

They call this an "Illuminating Cream". If you love FF Glossing Cream, or if you think Glossing Cream is too heavy, you have to give this one a try! It is like a lighter, softer version of FF Glossing Cream. Same consistency, maybe a bit more fluid, but not by much- It softens my hair instantly! It adds shine and structure. I used it on damp, towel-dried hair. I have been addicted to FF Glossing Cream for years now, but this one might be better! Also, it is part of the Technician Line, so if you love the smell of Technician (smells SO yummy) you will love this. It has the same scent. Plus it protects highlights from fading and brassiness. I will be updating on the "brassiness" issue ;)

Palettes -Christian Dior - 3 Couleurs Smoky #051 Smoky Pink
rated 5 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/6/2011 4:28:00 AM

These colors are all so beautiful- That is what initially caught my attention- I am a sucker for anything neutral, grey, pink. There are three shades inside this adorable compact (which slides forward to reveal a stand-up mirror and the eyeshadows). These are designed to create the perfect smoky look with the shades at hand. The Base color, which is the larger of the three, is the lightest shade and is a pale pink with just the slightest hint of iridescence. They describe it as an "extremely blendable base with a 'second-skin' effect". Then there is a matte Greyish/Taupe/Greige, almost leaning towards plum, but just a hint. Next to the matte shade is the "ultra-shiny" shade which looks like a shimmer-packed, slightly lighter version of the matte shade I just described. A shimmery taupe/grey/greige/plum. It can be packed on to showcase the intense shimmer that it contains, or can be blended out to be a more sheer micro-shimmer-taupe-y wash. Just GORGEOUS! And this shade is SO buttery-soft! Dior has done well with this little trio. All the shades are super soft and very blendable- which is a plus for me, since I can't blend as well as some of you :) This also comes with two applicators- One is your typical sponge applicator, and the other is a small dual-ended ACTUAL brush with little bristles- One end more structured and compact which could be handy when defining the outer V or getting shadow close to the lashline. The other end is bristles as well, but it's more of a tiny "fan" brush, and doesn't look like it would do much. I will likely use the one end, however. The insert that comes with has some guidelines on how to create a smoky look with these colors. Very nice. I'm very pleased!! This can be used as a nice "every day" look, or can be exaggerated and make for a lovely evening look. Versatile and beautiful. I can see myself using this more than any of my other Dior quints. It's just so much more PRACTICAL!

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Intense Mascara
rated 2 of 5
TacoFlavoredKisses 10/5/2011 3:41:00 AM

I liked the way it applied. It separated nicely and lengthened beautifully... However... I have never had so many issues with flakes. Flaking all over my cheeks and under my eyes. Ridiculous. I don't get it. I won't be re-purchasing.
