Styling Products -TiGi - Curlesque Catwalk Curl Collection Curls Rock Amplifier: Cream to define & separate
rated 4 of 5
Susee 2/21/2012 4:38:00 PM

Wonderful curl cream that defines and separates my 3a/b curls. It smells delicious, and a little goes a long way. I wash my hair every other day, and the days I don't wash it, I wet and condition. I then blot it very slightly and apply 2-3 pumps. On the non-wash days I can get away with a little less because it doesn't rinse out completely without a washing. When my hair is dry, I have no crunchiness or frizziness. I do think it is expensive, but I bought it at JCPenney salon for $13.00, and it should last a long time because I use such a small amount. It's worth it for me.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Flirt (#38)
rated 4 of 5
Susee 2/18/2012 9:16:00 PM

The application is a bit of a pain; I don't care for the long brush because all of a sudden I get a thick drop while applying. However, the color is a gorgeous dark burgandy. I picked this gem up on clearance but didn't use it right away; I thought it was a dupe of my OPI Black Cherry Chutney once I got it home. I actually like Flirt better than BCC. The color seems to compliment my fair, cool skin better. It took two coats to be opaque, and I had no streaking.

Top/Base Coats -Essie - Feed Me
rated 2 of 5
Susee 2/1/2012 7:50:00 PM

Feed Me did not help hydrate my nails that I noticed; I used it four times under my base coat because my nails split and peel terribly. My nails continued to split; every one of them and I noticed no increase in strength or flexibility. I paid $8 and returned it; it was not worth the money to me.

Top/Base Coats -Revlon - Extra Life Top Coat
rated 4 of 5
Susee 2/1/2012 7:43:00 PM

I have to rate this a four only because I have yet to find a top coat that truly prevents chipping for more than two days for me. That being said, this is the best one I have found. It dries quickly and gives me a very glossy, shiny finish that never bubbles. After my color, I apply two coats of this, wrapping my tips and then applying. I have also read that another reviewer uses it as a base coat and loves it for that, so I may try that next. Very good value for the money.

Polishes -Revlon - Nail Enamel
rated 5 of 5
Susee 2/1/2012 7:38:00 PM

Revlon nail polish applies smoothly and is opaque in two, sometimes one, coats. It dries well and I never have a problem with bubbling. My favorite quality is that their nail polishes do not chip quickly on me. They are priced very reasonably; I pay 3.99 per bottle, and the bottles are a nice shape that helps prevent tipping; they are wider at the bottom than the top. They have also started coming out with some newer, more trendy colors (in the past it seemed as though they had the same colors for years). Very good product for the money.

Polishes -Zoya - Petra
rated 3 of 5
Susee 1/21/2012 7:10:00 PM

I wanted a grayish purple np and ordered this one through Zoya when they had their two free polishes promo. I'm disappointed; I found the polish to be streaky after two coats and after a day of wearing it I feel like I'm wearing the color of clay/mud. It's very "dull." I did put a coat of silver shatter over it and like it a little better. The application, however, was nice and smooth.

Polishes -Revlon - No Shrinking Violet
rated 5 of 5

Gorgeous shimmery purple with no red tones. It has a bit of a silver sheen to it. Opaque in 1-2 coats; like all Revlon polishes it doesn't chip quickly. It's not vampy dark, just beautiful on my fair, cool skintone.

Styling Products -Clairol - Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel
rated 2 of 5
Susee 12/30/2011 5:04:00 PM

Great smelling gel and the flip top tube is very convenient. I didn't like the quality of it though. When I was scrunching it through my wet hair it got really "sudsy," enough to make me think I forgot to rinse out my conditioner. It was difficult to spread evenly through my hair, and when it dried there were some sections which were crunchy, and others that were flyaway. When scrunched out my hair was very soft and almost limp. For reference, I'm 3a, fine, very thick curly hair. This gel was a failure for me.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverPure Moisture Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
Susee 12/28/2011 6:55:00 PM

The packaging is perfect; I love the flip top and tube style. I didn't notice a lot of moisture or conditioning with this; it was very thick and didn't distribute through my hair easily. For reference, I have thick, curly, color treated hair and have found much better ds conditioners. The smell is strong and medicinally; reminds me of a dentist's office. I'll pass on this one.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Sulfate-free Color Care Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
Susee 12/28/2011 6:49:00 PM

I only used this one time, so this may not be the most helpful review. The packaging with the flip top and tube is great and the shampoo gave a nice thick lather. The smell was too overpowering; it was like being in the dentist's office. It was bad enough for me to return it after one use.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverSleek Intense Smoothing Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
Susee 12/28/2011 12:16:00 PM

I only used this once, so I honestly can't say what the long term effects are, if it protects color well or dries out my hair like other reviewers state. But the smell was enough to make me want to take it right back to the store. It reminded me of being in the dentist's office. It seemed to clean well without stripping. I did like the packaging with the flip top and tube. Edit: just realized I wrote the review for the wrong shampoo; I used the eversleek moisture for color treated hair in the pinkish tube.

rated 5 of 5
Susee 12/16/2011 8:22:00 PM

I love this color!! Its very unique....not blue, green, navy.....just creme teal. Looks opaque in two coats and is flattering on my very fair, cool toned skin. Perfect for me.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Doubling Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Susee 12/8/2011 10:06:00 PM

I received this as a GWP. It's a nice, basic mascara. It thickens and gives good definition with no clumps. I don't think it's worth the price; there are drugstore mascaras that do a good job as well at half the cost.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Pearl Plum
rated 5 of 5

I love Revlon SL lip glosses. Smooth, subtle color that shows up nicely and they aren't tacky or sticky. No scent or taste.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
Susee 12/1/2011 6:23:00 PM

This is a bi-phasal remover that you shake up and then apply. I've tried the Neutrogena one thinking it was the same as Clinique's because it's less than half the price, but for some reason that one burns my eyes. I received the Clinique one as a sample, and I love it. I gently rub it over my eyes and lashes with my fingers, and then tissue it off. I then wash my face and the remover off my eyes. I have no irritation whatsoever, and it removes all of my eyeliner, shadow and mascara. A little goes a long way with this remover. The only improvement I would like is for it to have a pump dispenser.
