Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Summer Bisque
StephB 4/12/2004 12:20:00 PM
Holy cow. I never would have thought this would work as well as it does. I suffered for a very angry breakout on my chin recently and had to stop wearing my beloved BE foundation b/c my concealers weren't working good enough to cover it. I had to go back to using liquid with my regular concealer. I finally caved and got this. I'm a MAC NC30 and wear BE in shade 2 light...occasionally mixed with dark (in the spring/summer). I'm very glad I went with summer bisque instead of bisque. Summer Bisque is supposed to be slightly darker and more yellow toned. Goodness - I'd hate to see how pink Bisque is! I find this to be totally neutral and not yellow toned at all. However, it works. I apply my BE foundation and then dab this on with my concealer brush. You can't even see a hint of redness. I still use my regular concealer under my eyes. But for red marks and pimples...I'm sorry I waited so long to buy this!

Lipstick -Clinique - Moisture Sheer in Silver Pink
StephB 4/2/2004 10:09:00 PM
I love this product! I bought this so I could have an alternative to wearing plain lip balm with SPF when I'm in the sun. This is such a pretty shade of light pink with silver shimmer. It's not a cool shade though, so it doesn't wash me out. It just gives me a nice pink natural shimmer and feels heavenly on the lips. The packaging is adorable too... a slim silver tube with a hot pink band in the center that's slightly taller than the average lipstick yet shorter than a gloss.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Romance
StephB 4/1/2004 7:34:00 PM
This is definitely a YMMV fragrance. It smells heavenly on some and horrendous on others. I noticed that every time I smelled a really lovely scent on someone , I always asked that person what fragrance they were wearing. It was always RL Romance. I figured that something in this scent drew me to it so I had to buy it. It smells lovely on me. I'm very glad I made the purchase. It will remain a staple in my fragrance wardrobe for a long time.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - White Musk Line
StephB 4/1/2004 7:31:00 PM
I am not a "musk" person. I normally wear fresh, clean scents. But this is such a gorgeous fragrance. It wears so well on me and I always get complements. It's not heavy in the least and lasts a good while on me (a miracle for me!) I would definitely repurchase as this is becoming my staple fragrance for daytime.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Pink Potion
StephB 3/25/2004 9:10:00 AM
Pink Potion is everything I hoped NARS Galaxy Girl and Stila Marissa would be. It's a beautiful pink with peach undertones and gold shimmer. It's not too sheer yet not too thick. It's just super flattering and lovely for spring/summer. Laura has changed her lipstick packaging so it's not quite as bad as it used to be...although it's still brown. It's now a shiney rich cocoa brown as opposed to a matte UPS brown. Also her cases close differently...in the middle instead of close to the bottom. I definitely feel better about pulling the new packaging out of my purse than I did the old. If you like soft pinks, get this shade!!

Eyeliner -Sue Devitt - Gold Reef
StephB 3/23/2004 5:56:00 PM
I was using Laura Mercier's Brown Copper before I received this. This is a shade lighter and very flattering. It's a chocolate brown with bronzy shimmer to it. I love the smudger brush on the end! It glides on smoothly and smudges perfectly and wears all day long. I found that it's actually water resistant, so it never smudges as the day goes on. I do wish it wasn't quite so fat b/c I had to buy the sharpener to go with it. But this is wonderful. A must have!

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour in Rose
StephB 3/23/2004 5:53:00 PM
I was surprised to like this as much as I do. It's a beautiful rose shade infused with golden shimmer. I always worry about shadows with rose/red undertones. I always think they'll make me look tired. Not this one! I can wear this in the crease or alone on the lid and it's just flattering yet subtle. You can definitely see it yet it's not overpowering. Love it! I have med/light yellow toned skin, blonde hair and blue eyes.

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - Resolution Eye
StephB 3/23/2004 5:46:00 PM
I've used many eye creams over the past couple of years and none have given me the results that this one has. First off, I'm 28 years old and have been noticing some fine lines under my eyes that would make me look truly tired. I found things that worked for a while and then quit and other things that only moisturized. I'm on my 2nd sample tube of this and I find it to be amazing. I've been using this for over three months now, only at night. It did take a few weeks to see anything, but I stuck with it. I use this at night and my staple Kiehl's Avocado during the day under my makeup. My fine lines beneath my eyes are gone. GONE! I've actually had people comment on how refreshed I look lately. This is a relatively new product so I'm not surprised I'm the first to review it. I highly recommend getting a sample if you can. Their sample sizes are large enough for you to try for several weeks to see if you get results. I'm truly amazed. I will purchase a tube once this sample runs out. I'm sold!!

Blush -Sue Devitt - Studio Blush in Belize
StephB 3/23/2004 5:31:00 PM
Amazing. This is a perfect pink flush with shimmer. I like to wear it with cooler pastel colors. I wear it when I'm doing pink/lavendar/blue eyes and a soft pink mouth. It actually looks great when paired with Chanel's Sweet Sixteen lipstick. It's just beautiful.

Blush -NARS - Sin
StephB 3/23/2004 5:29:00 PM
I wasn't sure if this would work on me since it's so cool. I have medium/light yellow toned skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. This blush is just gorgeous on my coloring! It's a cool rosy pink with silvery shimmer. It's not too dark or too light...just perfect. It looks really great on the apples of my cheeks when I'm doing a bronzey look also.

Concealers -Paula Dorf - Total Camouflage

I think I may have found my holy grail under-eye concealer. I got this several months ago in Sun/Earth. I never realized how dry my MAC concealer was until I tried this! I find that using the yellower shade under my eyes is perfect. I'm 28 and my undereye area is getting more dry and I'm seeing some fine lines. This concealer NEVER accentuates that, but rather hides it. It's very moisturizing yet somehow stays in place and doesn't crease. I seem to look refreshed when I wear it. I do use it on some red marks and blemishes (by mixing the two shades) and it works well, but I do find that I need to touch up later in the day. I'm still giving it a 5-lipstick rating for how well it does with undereye circles. Amazing.

Lipstick -Clinique - High Impact Lip Colour SPF 15 - Peach Pop #11
StephB 3/23/2004 5:18:00 PM
I received this in a GWP, but don't think I would have ever looked at it otherwise. I see it described below as coral. But I see it as being more of a reddish peach with gold shimmer. I have a coral lipstick (MAC cb96) and this isn't anywhere near as bright or as peachy/coral as that. It's definitely got red undertones to it but is surprisingly wearable. I'm shocked that I like it so much actually. I may end up getting the full sized tube for summertime.

Lip Liners -MAC - Cedar Lipliner
StephB 3/23/2004 5:14:00 PM
I like the shade of Cedar. It's a nice neutral pink. It works well with my springy pink lip looks. I like this shade. It's very close to Laura Mercier's Potpourri. I prefer Potpourri though b/c LM's lipliners have a better consistency than MACs and glide on the lips easier. This is a very nice shade though.

Lip Liners -Laura Mercier - Lip pencil in Potpourri
StephB 3/23/2004 5:12:00 PM
I'm sitting her with MAC Cedar and LM Potpourri swiped on my hand. They're very close. Potpourri is a nice lipliner to wear with my pink lipsticks. It's nowhere close to MAC Spice on my hand...Spice is much more neutral and orange. Potpourri is a nice pink liner with neutral undertones that make it more wearable and not "pinky". I wear this quite often in the spring/summer when my LM Chestnut is too neutral to wear with my pinky lipsticks.

Lip Liners -MAC - Subculture
StephB 3/23/2004 5:09:00 PM
ktm13 gave a great description below. For me, Subculture is the perfect pale lipliner that never washes me out. Stripdown was too gray on me. Spice was too orange, Cedar is too pink. I wanted something truly neutral that I could wear with my light lipsticks and glosses and not have them darken up on me. This is it. Perfection.
