Hair colour: Black Skin Tone: Alabaster NW15 (PPP :D) Well, I dearly miss my favorite 'Just Bitten' lipstain which is now discontinued from Revlon, but i've gotten back in the game to look for a new one! There are about a million reasons i prefer stains over lipsticks - I love a long-lasting, more sexy and natural surreal colour flushed over my lips (i usually play up my eyes). I think i've found my HG replacement stains! I bought this after visiting many counters trying to find a colour i like. When i found these lipstains, i couldn't decide whether to go with the red or the pink! I departed with the Rouge Futuriste and a promise to return and try the pinker shade. I was also pleasantly surprised at the pigmentation of the product. As you unscrew it, there's a slightly longer-than-average doe-tipped applicator. Apply with this if you want a deeper, more opaque coverage (alas with the slight red ring as it fades). I eventually found out if i swiped a little on my finger and dabbed it on my lips this colour gives a gorgeous yet natural bitten finish, which also allows for a more even and natural fade. As for the lasting power - things tend to slide into oblivion when put onto my lips and nothing is really long lasting to me. Put up against Revlon's though - which lasted about 2 hours max by the way - this stain stayed beautiful all throughout the night i had it on with some fading (which i like) ... but, for the sake of statistics, i'd say it lasted about 5-6 hours on my lips fading as it goes! Just remember girls, to apply a lip balm over this as it tends to be a tad drying on its own. The balm helps to keep your lips slightly moist and the stain more natural looking. For the moment i'm going to enjoy the red, but when i go back i will repurchase it in pink to try that one out. I can honestly say i will probably end up buying both though ;) Recommended for you pale girls who like the sultry, sexy vampy look. Sweet! EDIT: Got the colour 'Cyber Cassis'. A much darker + pinker version of the red (almost purple-y, actually). I got it on sale for 13$ AUD ;) STEAL!! I completely adore the colour, it's my new fave. It looks super sexy with liquid lined eyes =^.^=

Treatments -Innoxa - Young Solution Dream On

She's pretty much summed it up below! I pretty much bought this little product for the packaging... Although I have been using this a good few months. We all know the amazing healing properties of tea tree oil (and Vitamin E is great, too) so for me this stuff really works. I cleanse, skip the toning and moisturize then either spot treat if my skins 99% clear or do my t-zone if i have been sweating all day. After the initial application process it makes your face feel very dry but not flaky but after 5-10 mins it soaks in and does its job. It keeps me oil free, and even better; when i get a pimple or two (even huge ones - but i get them rarely) it can still manage to dramatically reduce redness and size in just one night, with 3 or so applications prior to bed. In full - nothing absolutely amazing, but it gets the job done, is relatively cheap and gives me peace of mind its fighting for my beauty overnight. I'd recommend trying it. PS: Smells nice but not overpowering!

Liquid -L'Oreal - infallible never fail makeup
rated 3 of 5

This was the foundation i used for ages after trying many, when i was a fairly new make-up user. The lightest colour, oddly enough was paler than the true match tones and looked fantastic. It covered fairly well, but even with my powder over the top it turned oily very quickly, yet still lasted longer than true match. It didnt break me out or anything so that was cool... Thanks for the good times, but since you infallible i have matured, but you helped make me the make-up junkie i am today. Cheers!

Meh. To be honest, the palest colour didnt even match my skin tone. It's a so-so foundation, good for people with overall nice skin - but for me it didnt stay on, made my face more oily and came off easily if i were to touch it by accident. At least they added a pump. Trial and error, i suppose!

Foundations -Max Factor - Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation

I got the Almond and it was very dark on my porcelain skin. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but the lighting in the store was VERY deceptive. Although it covered very well, it did look a bit cakey even with my MAC foundation brush. I ended up giving this to my mother, and it works very well for her olive complexion. But i give it kudos for actually not turning me orange, even though it was at least 4 shades too dark! And wierdly enough, this is the only foundation that has ever broken me out. Overall, its a lovely foundation, just a bit on the thick side for my skin.

Loose Powders -Shiseido - The Makeup Enriched Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
Spider90 3/9/2009 12:04:00 AM

I got this powder over a year ago, in Japan - and it is AMAZING. Best powder i've ever used! Gone are the days trying to find an almost white loose powder to set my foundation. My skin is porcelain, and every other powder that wasn't a true Neutral turned either orange or made my face pink, but i used the rose version of this powder and its so fine it makes my skin look like silk. It was VERY finely milled, moreso than any loose powder i have ever used. I have very oily skin, and this stayed matt for a very long time while in use so I've tried my fare share of powders :P I love the puff it comes with - unlike other make-up, like MAC's studio fix powder, the puff makes itself useful. It's actually perfect (or at least, for me ;)) for applying the product. Overall, this is the perfect powder to put on top of my foundation when i'm not using my MAC studio fix powder. Alas, this got stolen from me - But it's about time i repurchased it!

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
rated 5 of 5
Spider90 2/25/2009 5:25:00 PM

So, I bought this yesterday. I was intending to buy (and try) the 2000 Calorie Max, but got sidetracked by the name and bottle. And...got woo'd by the offer for a maxfactor eyeliner for an additional $5 AUD xD On the train, being a mascara junkie, i opened the bottle (which seemed to take forever. The neck is so long!) and saw the brush. This moment brought up a lot of emotions. The brush was HUGE. And gummy. I was very eager to try this and see if it lives up to its name! I got locked out of my house for 2 hours before I was rescued and then cleaned off my current mascara and gave this a try... It was sort of akward, combing this through my lashes as the brush was so huge. But luckily the outer tip was blunt so it effortlessly distributed the product to my inner lashes without adding black spots to the inner corner of my eyes. The colour was such a deep, rich black it was beautiful, it only clumped a tiny bit as brand new mascaras usually do - but as soon as i use some of it im sure that will go away as theres not so much excess on the brush. After one coat, it looked like a darker and longer 2000 calorie. After 2nd coat, it exceeded 2000 in the length and volume steaks for me, without the spider leg gangly effect that 2.c. might have given me. Only downside is the wierd feeling of combing it through with such small gummy bristles; I prefer 2000 calorie's brush! CONCLUSION: This may be too much of a good thing for you - It does give a fantastic false eye look, just make sure you take the time to apply this nicely!! I am a big fan of long, deep, dark and thick lashes and this does all of that for me. Literally the perfect clubbing mascara - would look AMAZING with smoky eyes or some eyeliner, as it would be too much just on its own. All in all I love it, yet am still waiting to try the 2000 calorie max (better version of my HG?) but until then, I'll be very happy to use this on a daily basis. NOTE: I have long and thick eyelashes to begin with and i can't say i'd reccomend this to people with fair, short or sparse eyelashes as the product is wet and thick and would probably make eyelashes stick together. It's a heavy mascara. EDIT: I love this. people came doorknocking, and had a 5 minute conversation about my eyelashed. they didnt believe they were mine ;) oh. and it takes AGES to get this stuff off!!

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Moisture Cream Sensitive SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
Spider90 2/3/2009 9:24:00 PM

This is my HG daily moisturizer. Gives me everything I need! First of all, my skin literally drinks it it in. No filmy residue - leaves my skin feeling moist. To me, it also acts like a make-up base - it helps my foundation glide on smoothly and effortlessly on my skin. It doesn't break me out, and it makes my face glow. I love this staple... better than anything ive tried before. So cheap too!!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel

Hmm...Angel. It either smells magical on you, or very wrong. I bought this perfume and the first spray was downright scary. I was a Biohazard. Very intoxicating smell, too strong for my liking. It gave me a headache! I usually love sweet smells, but this was sickly sweet laced with evil and to be honest I regretted buying it. (NOTE: this was with one spray on my wrists and rubbed on my neck) The more throughout the day, it started to smell nicer and nicer. People used to ask me what I was wearing and said it smelt wonderful. I thought they might have been humoring me, but my mum loved it and went out to get a bottle of her own. I guess I may have been one of the lucky people that the perfume smelt lovely on, but honestly I couldent see (or smell) what the fuss was about. I wish there wasnt as much staying power because I admit i loved the smell at the end of the day - but the initial chemical smell of this famous perfume put me off. It was too strong for too long for my liking - I'll stick with Vera Wang's Princess :) and save my Angel for the night.

I have wanted this for a long time, and whilst on a trip to Japan decided to buy it. When i spray i on, it isn't chemically strong like other perfumes (e.g. Angel) - it smells nice, floral and sort of vanilla-ey. I adore how it smells on me... It makes me feel very feminine, and makes me happy for some reason :D One downside is that the staying power isn't that great to be honest. I'd say after approximatly 4 hours its smell has faded considerably, and after 7+ you would have to smell my wrist to be able to catch the scent (1 lippie off). But, at the end of the day it does smell very nice and sweet, even if i DO have to raise my wrist up to my nose. To be honest, this doesnt put me off too much. My boyfriend loves the smell as well, and It's one thats perfect for my daily wear. I use it mostly to make myself happy (kind of like nice underwear!) - just smelling it puts a smile on my face!

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Mascara
rated 5 of 5
Spider90 2/1/2009 7:40:00 PM

I have used this mascara for a very long time. The packaging may have changed, but my love for it hasn't! I have naturally quite long and dark lashes, but using this makes them really long, thick and black. People often ask me if I'm wearing falsies, even :) I'd say if you have longer lashes, go for it. It seperates, thickens, and lengthens best out of any mascara i've used and gives a lovely curl (i don't need to use manual curlers anymore). If you have light, small lashes it's probably best to steer clear - this mascara gives me the impression it enhances the lashes you already have rather than performs miracles. As far as clumping goes, after some time it seems to get a bit stiffer than it once was but nothing a tiny drop of water on the brush or a tissue can't handle. And with the price tag on it, i'll be using this until they stop making it .

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 266 Thin Small Angle (Synthetic hair)
rated 4 of 5
Spider90 2/1/2009 7:29:00 PM

I went to a MAC store, and asked for a small angled eye shadow brush, and this is what the clerk gave me. He went straight to the cash register and told me it was $39 AUD ... for such a small brush! Saying that, I do not regret getting this. I use it with fluidline for a nice, thicker application (as my lashes are quite thick and long so thin line's don't show up) and it works perfectly to give me such a neat line and flick. Often i go over with some Carbon eye shadow to keep the fluidline on for longer ;) It also works great when i want to go out, and do the 'white-in-the-inner-corners-of-your-eyes' trick, and sometimes when i want to apply some pigment to my eyebrows as it gives a nice manicured look. All in all, a fantastic little brush if you like thicker lines!
