Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Royal Gloss Delicious Lipgloss
rated 5 of 5
RosePeacock 3/23/2012 3:37:00 PM

This is an excellent product from Rimmel. Very smooth, and not sticky whatsoever. It doesn't claim to be moisturising but I find it leaves my lips feeling soft and hydrated. A little goes a long way, so I can see the tube lasting me a while. I have the shade 'Love It' which is a clear gloss with very fine glitter, that looks to be a mix of green and pinky red - quite opalescent. I can't feel the glitter on my lips, so it's not gritty in the slightest, nor is it glaringly obvious. I wouldn't say the gloss is 'delicious' but it's pleasantly fruity. It's definitely exceeded my expectations, and I'd gladly buy another.

Shampoo -Schwarzkopf - Gliss Oil Nutritive Shampoo
rated 4 of 5

Think I bought this shampoo for 99p. It may have been cheap, but it works really well on my thick, dry hair. Leaves it feeling soft and 'lighter' if that makes sense. I like that it rinses clean and doesn't leave a nasty residue. To me it smells a bit like pineapple. Quite a sharp, fresh scent. I'd buy it again if I can find it - I haven't seen it around recently, but I'm sure it'll crop up somewhere.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Gunmetal
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/23/2012 6:05:00 AM

I love this shade - it's just what I want when black would be too harsh. The pigmentation is decent and it stays put for absolutely ages. However, what I didn't like about it was the fall out. Think mine is drying out, as it was quite crumbly when applying. I was still able to get a great line, but I didn't like having to constantly brush away the specks below my eyes. That's the main downside to these eyeliners - seem to be very prone to drying out in record time. E.L.F definitely need to work on improving the packaging. I also have the one in Metallic Olive, which is also a great alternative to black. Despite the poor packaging, I'd repurchase, simply because it's such a gorgeous shade.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Twinkled Pink
rated 3 of 5
RosePeacock 3/23/2012 5:47:00 AM

I wish I could give this lipstick 3 and a half. I'm giving it that rating because I can't use it in the same way as my other lipsticks. With this I have to dab it on very lightly. If I applied it in the normal way the frost would be too much. Using the dabbing method gives my lips a nice pinky sheen that works well with my cool colourings. I like to apply over lip balm for a better result, otherwise it settles into the lip lines. It's not the best Revlon lipstick I've come across, but I still like the soft shimmer I can achieve with it. I wouldn't buy it again, mainly because it would take me ages to finish up a tube that I just dab on every now and then.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Poundland - Chit Chat Gel Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/18/2012 6:57:00 AM

'Chit Chat' is Poundland's (UK) own cosmetics range. I wouldn't normally buy anything from that line because it all looks a bit cheap and nasty, however I love gel eyeliners so thought I'd give it a go - almost jokingly, after all how good can a pound shop version be? But I was pleasantly surprised. It went on like a dream, really smooth and creamy. The pigmentation was good too. Not the blackest black around, but still nothing to sniff at. Because of the soft texture, I set it with a matte black shadow and it stayed put for a fair few hours. It would've stayed even longer, but I had to go to bed. I have oily eyelids and there wasn't any smudging. Of course setting it with the shadow helped and I would recommend you do that. Even the brush it came with was pretty decent. I'm thinking of going back and getting another. For a quid, it's worth a punt!

Lipstick -Revlon - Pink in the Afternoon
rated 5 of 5
RosePeacock 3/17/2012 2:08:00 PM

Picked this up from my local market for £1.50. Love that price! And love this lipstick! As soon as I put it one, my face instantly brightened up. I'd always wondered when I'd find a lipstick that would do that. It just looks so right and very flattering. This shade of pink would look amazing on a lot of women. It's a creme so there's no shimmer, yet it still makes my lips look a little fuller. It's got a great texture, as have all the Revlon lipsticks that I've tried. I'll definitely repurchase.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Violet Shine
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/17/2012 1:39:00 PM

I'm on a bit of a lipstick buying kick at the mo. I think I got this for around a £1 on eBay. I've never tried out NYC lipsticks, mostly because all the ones I'd seen were very frosty and pale looking. Grandma style. The name doesn't really match with the actual shade, as pointed out in previous reviews. Yeah, it's got a hint of purple, but it's nowhere near 'Violet'. It's a berry pink with no frost in sight. It would look great on cool toned girls, like myself. The texture is very nice and it goes on smoothly and evenly. The packaging on the other hand isn't good at all. You just know you're going to end up catching the lipstick on the lid. I think I'd buy it again as I can see it becoming a firm favourite.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Nude Attitude
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/17/2012 1:13:00 PM

I think this is quite a difficult lipstick to pull off. I got it from my local market for £1.50 (genuine and sealed) In Boots these lipsticks are going for £7.49, so I didn't want to pass it up. When I got home and tried it on I knew straightaway that I'd need to put a gloss on top to make it work for me. By itself = Not cute! However I dug out a pinky/coral gloss and paired them together and the combo is actually rather lovely. I think I'll save it for when I've got a strong eye look and want a nude lip to offset it. It's not a lipstick that I can just throw on, it takes a bit of effort! But I think it's pretty when you find out what to do with it. For reference I'm fair, cool toned with green eyes and dirty blonde hair.

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/17/2012 12:42:00 PM

My hair is long, thick and wavy. At times it can be rather coarse. This shampoo makes my hair softer and more manageable. I love the smell too, like sweeties! It's moisturising yet it rinses clean and I haven't noticed any buildup. I really like the Aussie range - quality products, yet reasonably priced. I'd recommend it to anyone with thick hair that's prone to dryness.

Eyeliner -Bourjois - Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/15/2012 7:57:00 PM

I've recently starting using this eyeliner after ignoring it for ages. It didn't really beg to be used, as it's kind of boring looking. However, I gave it a go and I'm really pleased with the results. Mine is in the colour 'Vert Inspire' and I find that it compliments my hazel/green eyes. On my skintone it's more flattering and softer than black. Pigmentation is great, as is the texture. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it, but it was definitely on clearance for under £2. It's a lovely every-day staple. Most days I'm bare faced except for this and a quick coat of mascara. I'd buy it again if I came across it for cheap.

Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm w/Vitamin E & Spf 15
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 3/15/2012 7:45:00 PM

This is becoming one of my favourite lipbalms. It's creamy, smells like white chocolate and does a great job in getting rid of any flakey nastiness. It also has fantastic staying power. You don't have to constantly reapply, which is a huge plus point for me. Ever since I bought it, it's been living in my coat pocket. I'll definitely consider buying another stick once I use it up.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Pink Kabuki
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 1/14/2012 6:14:00 PM

Mine isn't pink, but I couldn't find it listed -- so yeah, basically the same thing, except black! It's not the softest brush by any means but it's fabulously dense. It's the perfect size for my face and is great for applying blush. It doesn't splay out, so I get the product exactly where I want it. I'm really surprised that it performs so well, as I wasn't expecting much from this brand. I'd definitely recommend it.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyelash and Brow Wand
rated 5 of 5
RosePeacock 1/14/2012 5:59:00 PM

This is a good, basic tool to have in your kit. I haven't used it on my lashes yet, but I can see that it would work well. I've been using it on my brows before giving them a tidy-up. For the price you can't go wrong. Nothing fancy, yet does the trick.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - New Car Smell
rated 4 of 5
RosePeacock 1/14/2012 5:45:00 PM

'New Car Smell' is such a cute blush. It's a peachy/coral/pink mix that would suit many skin tones. I have a very pale complexion (cool) and this doesn't look too bright and garish. Instead it gives my face a healthy glow. It looks lovely with my freckles. Pigmentation is great - shake a little into the lid and it should be enough for both cheeks. I can detect a tiny bit of shimmer, but it's very slight. I checked in day light and it was barely noticeable. I have the sample size and it was sitting in my makeup collection all sad and lonely. I had a sort through the other day and put it aside to throw out. I'm so glad that I decided to give it another go before binning. What was I thinking? I'm like that sometimes... too hasty to get rid. I've lost a lot of decent products that way! Oops. But yay for rescuing. :D

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light
rated 5 of 5
RosePeacock 1/14/2012 10:29:00 AM

I recently received this powder as a gift from my fiance and I really love it. The quality is excellent and 'Light' works well with my super pale skin tone. It's equally awesome as a setting powder or applied on its own. I can see myself buying this product again. I can definitely see why it's got a lot of love on here.
