Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer

Well I had previously reviewed this product, and I have had to delete it, as I have eaten my words ;) I first tried it a few monts back, decided that I didn't like it and gave it to my Mum. I have been having trouble with my foundation lately, with it not going on as smoothly and wearing off in certain areas etc. I do not have oily skin at all, just normal to dry, and I was under the impression that primers were solely for oily skinned people or mineral makeup wearers. But after speaking to Koren, the youtube makeup guru that I adore(he is amazingly knowledgeable), he said that primer is for all skin types, so I went ahead and tried it again ( I stole it back from my Mum, lol). I now loe the stuff. It makes my skin feel incredibly smooth, like velvet, and just seems to diffuse the pores and any dry patches etc. My liquid foundation just glides on, and I use much less product now, and my foundation has never looked better. I really do look airbrushed, and you know I am loving that :). I was initially worried that it would be too matte looking for me, as I like a dewey sort of look, but not at all. I do add a bit of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector before I apply my foundation, and the end result is smooth, glowing, even looking skin. This will continue to be a staple in my collection, I adore it and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/7/2008 6:20:00 AM

I love love love this product!! It is simply amazing, for me anyway. I wear this cream every single day, after my moisturiser and before applying my liquid foundation and it makes my skin look so glowy and dewy. You need only a small amount and it does wonders for my dry skin, makes my foundation glide on and gives me that lit from within glow that I so desire. I know some people say that this cream makes them look a disco ball, but for me it is heavenly. But, as forementioned, I do have quite dry skin, so perhaps if you are on the oily side then steer clear. The cream when looking at it does have a sheer pinkish fine shimmer, but once applied this is not at all apparent.on my NC30-35 with yellow undertones skin. All you see is glowing skin that seems radiantly healthy. You can use this in a myriad of ways, such as mixing it with your foundation, wearing it as a highligher after applying foundation or even on it's own, so is a versatile product in my opinion. I am almost out if my current bottle, so am starting to panic at the thought of being without, will definately re-stock, it a HG for me, and I don't give that status lightly :)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Fantastic Lash [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/7/2008 6:08:00 AM

I decided to try this mascara after reading the somewhat mixed reviews about it, as I had just used up my Lancome Hypnose and didn't want to spend a lot. I actualy don't mind this mascara, it is not too bad at all. But I must explain first, that my eyelashes are naturally very long, dark and kinda full, but not overly thick. And this mascara is pretty good on my lashes, two coats make them super long and kinda fuller. It is not fantastic, but is not crappy either. Just meh, ok. Nice for a natural but full lash look I guess, but I cannot see it doing much for people with short, thin lashes. I would purchase again I guess, if I didn't want to spend much, but I am wanting to try Covergirl Super Thick Lash next time. I actually normally wear either Lancome or Diorshow, but grow tired of having to replace the expensive tubes so often. EDIT: This stuff is horrible, it dried up almost instantly, and no matter what I did, it made my lashes clumpy and stumpy. I will not be repurchasing, willstick with my beloved Lancome.

Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Nail Polish in Ash Rose
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/7/2008 5:39:00 AM

I bought this at a cosmetic outlet store for a fraction of the retail price, picked it randomly as I thought it looked like a really pretty colour. Well, I absolutely love this nail polish, the colour is divine, such a pretty, nude pink shade, that looks gorgeous on the nails. It would have to be the best pink nail polish I have ever tried, and I have tried a lot. It lends a beautiful chic pink shade to the nails, without looking garish or teenybopper as most pink polishes tend to do. I am somewhat obsessed with nail polish, and have a vast array of colours, and this is a firm favourite. The colour is very flattering on my skin tone (NC30-35), and goes on smoothly and like the other reviewer said, one coat is perfect, no more needed, gotta love that. I am heading back to the store to stock up on this gorgeous polish.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 4 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/5/2008 1:05:00 AM

This is a truly beautiful blush and so deserving of it's glowing reviews and cult status. It is the prefect shade, a peachy nude pink, with a hint of golden shimmer, that is so subtle that it just adds a beautiful sheen to your skin. I unfortunately couldn't wear this blush, only for the fact that my normal to dry skin has become extremely dry after having my baby and breastfeeding etc, that it just did not sit well on my skin. I loved the colour so much, it was perfect for me :( But I have just swapped it and given it to a good home, so all is ok. I have not given up on it though, when my skin goes back to normal I plan on buying another, as it truly is a beautiful blush.

Lips -Bon Bons - flavored lip gloss
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/5/2008 12:57:00 AM

I received this gorgeous lipstick from a genorous swapper and I love it! It comes in the cutest little square tin with a flip slide lid, and it is the pink lemonade flavour, and that is exactly what it tastes like, so sweet and delicous. It is light candy pink colour, very sheer that leaves just a trace of pink shimmer behind and the best part is that it is really moisturising, leaves my lips soft, fresh and pretty. I don;t think that you can buy this stuff over here, so I will be so sad when I use it all and I would definately buy it if I could find it.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/5/2008 12:48:00 AM

This is one of my signature fragrances, it is chic, feminine and divinely seductive in an understated way. My husband bought this for when we first started dating, and I ended up wearing it on my wedding day, so it will always hold special memories for me. It is an elegant fragrance, that is feminine without being cloying and over floralish, as I cannot stand those scents. It does a have a subtle floral element, but I guess the muskiness tapers it down to sweet, romantic scent. I receive so many compliments when I wear this, from men and women alike, my husband adores it on me, it makes him weak at the knees, so this will always be in my collection. Do try, you will not be disappointed. This is my fave scent from the Chanel collection and I have tried them all.

Lipstick -MAC - Sandy B. lipstick
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 6/5/2008 12:38:00 AM

I just received this lipstick in a swap and I adore it! i had been wanting to try this shade for awhile now, as I am obsessed with pinky/peach nude lipsticks and this one did not disappoint. I have quite full lips that are nauturally dark rosy pink and this shade looks so natural and pretty. It is a frost, but I find it to be subtle and flattering on my NC30 with yellow undertones skin. On me it is nudish peach with a subtle golden shimmer, perfect to team with the simple dark eyeliner and mascara I wear everyday. Yes it can go on a little dry, but I combat this by applying soft lips first and it goes on like a dream. A firm favourite and even though I didn't buy this one, I shall be purchasing another when this runs out.

Lipstick -MAC - N Collection ~ 3N
rated 4 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/27/2008 6:29:00 AM

I like this lipstick, it is very pretty and natural, but because I have really dark pink rosy lips naturally, I find it doesn't really stay true to colour on me,but I like it all the same. It is milky pink, and on my lips is a sheer wash of colour, very very natual and lush and it also looks a lot better when I blank out the colour in my lips with foundation before applying the colour. I am hoping to be able to get my hands on another one if I can, being such a huge fan of nude coloured lipsticks.

Lipstick -MAC - Peachstock (satin)
rated 5 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/27/2008 6:21:00 AM

Gorgeous lipcolour, one of my faves. This is the only lipstick I have ever found that actually blocks out the colour of my naturally very pigmented, dark pink lips. Is a true peachy nude, with none of that ashen or brown look, all which make my NC30 with yellow undertones look ill and pallid. I am not hugely into glosses, I prefer subtle, moist lips, so I just wear a good lip balm underneath and my pout looks the perfect nude shade, nice and healthy looking paired with my subtle smokey eye.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
rated 2 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/27/2008 6:11:00 AM

This cream eyeliner is fantastic! I This is my second foray into cream eyeliner, my first one was the Naploean one and that is hideous, dried up after 2 wks, it smudged like crazy and was just awful. Then I found this litle gem, it actually hasn't been released here yet, so I got mine from Ebay and I just luurve it. The black is really intense, like that of a true kajal pencil, a real onyx black, and it just makes my dark blue eyes pop! But, it does dry out really quickly, and starts to flake :(. EDIT: I have put this down to 3 lipsticks now, I have the MAC Fluidline and of course, it blows this one out of the water. It is much smoother, and I just prefer it, althouh the HIP would be a good alternative if you are on a budget. I am just a MAC girl I guess :)

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
rated 3 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/22/2008 6:56:00 AM

I first tried this mascara after receiving a sample in a GWP. I LOVED it, so then went out and bought one. Well, then I just didn't like it. At all. It gives a kinda spidery look to your lashes, doesn't thicken or volumize them at all, ah so disappointing. It does make them look really long, but I have super long lashes anyway, so meh. I will be trying BeneFit Bad Gal next, see how that works for me.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
rated 4 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/19/2008 1:44:00 AM

I have been wearing this stuff for about 8 years now and it has been my HG for that long. It is great, it truly is. It is longwearing, and has great coverage. This stuff doesn't budge, I have worn it swimming and it still didn't budge. But, it can be a bit drying and a bit too matte for my liking, so I now blend mine with a Lancome hydrating dewy foundation, and the end result is gorgeous. As others have noted, it can make your skin look flat and dull, especially in photos, that is why mix mine with the dewy super hydrating foundation and a lot of it, that way I get some nice coverage but mainly dewyness! But for people with oily skin it would be great, colours can be a bit limiting, but I am lucky to have found a good one. I wear it blended with my other one as it gives me the perfect base, lasting power, but a nice, dewier finish for my normal to dry skin. Sometimes, I wear MAC strobe cream under it as well, and this is truly luminous. I wear some liquid illuminator over the top, cream blush on the cheeks and voila, beautiful skin! Definately a great makeup :)

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Smashing Cream Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/19/2008 1:37:00 AM

I had such high hopes for this cream eyeliner, but alas, I was so disappointed :( It smudges so so easily, and will only be wearable if you have Urban Decay Primer Potion, which not everybody has, sigh. I did try it with another shadow primer and it still smudged, like 5 mins after I had applied it. It is also not easy to get a smooth, crisp tight line with this stuff, it's ok if you just want a thick, smudgey line. Meh, I don't hate the stuff, but I wouldn't buy it again. I am never straying from my MAC Fluidline ever again :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
rated 4 of 5
PinkPrincess81 5/19/2008 1:32:00 AM

I had already reviewed this mascara just after trying it out, and I think that I spoke too soon, hence me deleting that review and writing a new one. As I said, at first I didn't like this mascara, at all. I found that it was spidery looking and made my lashes feel wirey. So I tossed it the drawer and forgot about it and went back to my Lancome Hypnose. But recently, that has gone dry and icky, so whilst waiting for my next one(YSL Faux Cils) , I decided to try this one again. And I like it. I think because the first few times I used this, I did what I was recommended by somebody and I kind of did not let it dry in between coats, and it went of spidery, which I detest. But now, I do a full coat, let it dry, then just flutter it along the tips, and wow, it looks great. I have nauturally long lashes, and they are quite full, and this stuff just makes them super long, and thicker too, so that they look amazing. So long and fluttery. This mascara rocks, and reminds me a lot of Chanel Inimitable, for like a quarter of the price. And it doesn't leave your lashes stif and crunchy, they are still quite soft to the touch. This one is a keeper, may even prove to be my HG, I am trying CG Lashblast next, so will see how that compares. This though is better than Lancome Hypnose in my opinion, but remember ladies, mascara is such a personal thing, so bashing other people's reviews is pointless, each to their own. But in my humble opinion, this stuff is awesome :)
