Cleansers -Neutrogena - Wave™ (Power-Cleanser And Deep Clean Foaming Pads)
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 9/20/2008 4:00:00 AM
So I started using this maybe two or three days ago. My skin is so soft and clear! I had to get ready in ten minutes this morning, and didn't have time to put on any foundation or makeup. I used the wave, then patted on La Mer Moisturizing Lotion. All day, people at school were coming up to me and telling me how much better I look WITHOUT makeup! Here I was, thinking i needed foundation...when all I needed was the Wave! I like the cleanser, it smells fantastic...at the end of the day, when I do wear foundation, the little pad turns orange and I can tell everything has been cleansed off my pores. The battery was difficult to get in, but once I did, it's really easy to use and hold. I don't like how the pads can only be used once- I'm a bit of an environmentalist, and I don't like the concept of all the waste. But considering this is paper, and not plastic and there's not a whole lot of waste in general-individually wrapped and plastic and all that-I'm assuming it will probably disintegrate pretty well. It was pretty cheap-I was actually considering shelling out the money for the Clarisonic, but now that I have this, I won't...I definately recommend this. The cleanser might be drying for some, but a good moisturizer will fix that, and it wasn't drying enough to give me flakies or anything...long @$$ review, sorry, but I hope it helps! EDIT: Keh, I lied. This DID give me flakies. They were impossible to get rid of, even with Cetaphil, but they finally went away. I wanted to keep using this, so I experimented and finally hit on a solution that really worked- use Extra Virgin Olive Oil and massage it into your face first-a little more than you would normally use to clenase (your face should like kind of shiny) and then use the wave. After I do this, my skin is soooo soft- nothing has ever made it that soft(:

Fragrances -Chanel - No 5 Eau Premiere
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 9/20/2008 3:44:00 AM
My God, I am in love. I am wayy below the target audience for this (No. 5 and 16 year olds don't mix, generally), but I adoree perfume- most girls my age go for shoes and hair products, I'm a perfume lover. My grandmother wears No. 5, so I have fond memories of it- I tried wearing it once and hated it. I received a sample of this and was hesitant to try it-but since it was after school and I wasn't going anywhere, I decided to try it. To my surprise, I found that I loved it! It's a bit powdery, which generally I don't like. It's feminine and light, and I can't see this really offending anyone. It's fresh and floral, and although $125 is quite a lot for me to pay for a perfume, I would be delighted to receive this as a gift(:

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 9/17/2008 6:25:00 PM
I love this! Since my skin isn't that bad, normally, I only use this when I have a big breakout. I use it every morning and let it dry while I eat breakfast...it clears up my skin, but dries it out pretty bad, so I always have to follow with a super moisturizing moisturizer after. This evened my skin tone really well and banished breakouts...at least until the next month, haha. This is too drying for me to use everyday unless I have to, so I would only recommend it as an every day treatment for oily skin. For combo, it's just too much. Also, this stings, especially on open blemishes, but it really does help them heal faster(:

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 9/10/2008 5:15:00 AM
Surprisingly enough, this mask did NOT work for me. I've tried it several times, each one with high hopes [also, each time I ground up the aspirin, one of my parents would inevitably walk by and freak, saying, "IS THAT COCAINE!?" and then when I explained, "why are you grounding up aspirin? big hassle!] I ground up maybe 3 or 4 generic aspirin into a fine powder and mixed with a tiny bit of water at a time until I had a nice paste. I would then apply to freshly washed skin [Purity Made Simple] and leave on until it started flaking. I have combination skin, but it mostly leans toward the "really-oily-tzone-by lunch time-and- no- shine- on- cheeks" type of combination. I would rinse it off, using the tips of my fingers to gently exfoliate. I patted my skin dry and would look in the mirror, expecting a miracle. I didn't get one. Not even a tiny one. My face looked just the same as it had before, a teeny tiny bit more glowy, because of the exfoliation, but that would be justaboutit. Sorry to mess up the rating, guys. But this really didn't work for me:(

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Serum
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/30/2008 9:06:00 PM
ughhhh...I live in a tropical environment, and the humidity makes my hair go WHACK...like seriously, frizz and split ends all over the place. Nastyyy. So I tried this when it was used on me in a salon..I don't know why it worked then, and every other time I go to a salon, but every time I use it at home, my hair is gross and all over the place an hour later. I still can't find anything to make the frizz go away, except coconut oil and brushing my hair in between every class, which is a painnn. I'm giving it two stars, because I like the smell, and because it always works when a stylist uses it on me. But sadly, I can't make it work for myself.

Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - ... maybe baby
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/25/2008 11:42:00 PM
This was my signature freshman year of highschool. I showered with the bath gel, moisturized with the lotion, and sprayed on 2 sprays before school. The guys fell in love(; This is supposedly a man-attracting scent, and I have to say, whenever I wear this guys take a double take and wink...even ones with girlfriends. That being said, after a few months of wearing nothing but this, I got a little sick of it and it started making me sick to my stomach..however I still wear this occasionally when I want to remember my idyllic freshman year... The lasting power sucks btw, I had to keep the smaller bottle in my locker and touch up once or twice during the day because no one could smell it on me anymore.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Oil
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/25/2008 7:03:00 AM
I love coconut oil! Had I known this would moisturize my hair so well, I never would have spent all that money on the Frederic Fekkai deep conditioner..which is good in a pinch or when I'm in a hurry, but not nearly as good as this. I brush my hair with a regular brush and part it in the middle in the late afternoon. I smooth the coconut oil in my hair, then brush it through with a boar bristle brush (the oily boar brush works double duty..if you have flyaways later, you just run the brush through your hair, and it tames them for a couple of days, and doesn't leave your hair oily) and braid it into two braids. Before going to bed, I put a towel over my pillows and sleep with it on. The next morning, I wash my hair once, first with the Herbal Essences Color Me Happy, then with the Hello Hydration twice, with really big lathers. After that I slather on a handful of the Hello Hydration conditioner, and leave it in for the rest of my shower. My hair is soft, manageable, and shiny...I can't believe I've gone up until now without it!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/25/2008 6:58:00 AM
Impression of Covergirl Lashblast Mascara: APPEARANCE: The tackiest, most unattractive tube I think I've ever seen. I hate the color orange with a PASSION, and for this mascara to be in such a terrible tube...it's sad...they wasted packaging-what was up with that little cap that you're supposed to throw out? What happened to reducing packaging in order to save the earth...? The brush is cool, I like the little rubber bristles... COLOR: I got Very Black...it made the whites of my eyes look brighter and my eyes look overall bigger, which is what I'm going for. APPLICATION: Easy. Doesn't clump..you don't really even have to curl! It volumizes and lengthens really well, one of the best I've ever used. If you wear a line of black eyeliner on the top lid, then wiggle the brush at the base of the lashes before sweeping it through the rest, it'll give the appearance of bigger, brighter, more volumized eyes. LAST: It flakes. This is a problem for me, since I wear contacts. However, if you don't wear contacts, this probably won't be a difficulty for you. I'm willing to suck it up, however. It lasts for several hours, doesn't smudge, doesn't melt...doesn't evaporate in thin air after a few hours... REMOVAL: Difficult to remove with my magical YSL eye make up remover. However, I've started using Extra Virgin Olive Oil and with a few rubs, it all comes off. Overall, I would recommend this. The tube could use some work, but this is definate HG until I find a new one..for this price, and this performance, it's got Diorshow and the other Department Store brands beat(:

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/21/2008 8:52:00 PM
I love this! I use a big handful of this in the shower and it makes my hair sooooo soft! I like using the coconut oil as a deep conditioner, then I wash it out, first with the Color Me Happy Shampoo, then two washes of the Hello Hydration Shampoo and a big slathering of conditioner..my hair is silky soft, with zero frizz now...my hair was so dry that it was literally falling out, like not normal, a few strands a day kind, but like almost handfuls of it, because it was so dry and breaking all over the place. I left huge slatherings of coconut oil in my hair, then did the above process, and my hair is sooo soft...I do this about once or twice a month and have GORGEOUS hair that everyone likes to play with(: This conditioner is highly recommended for dry hair. But remember to use a lot, because if you're only using a little, then you might as well not be using any at all.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - Duble Ended Blemish Extractor
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/17/2008 6:56:00 PM
I love this! My freshman year of highschool, my face was pretty much one big blemish..it was gross, and as one guy, who thankfully doesn't go to my school anymore, commented, "it looks like you have some kind of weird disease..". Needless to say, my confidence was not very high. I used tons of makeup, and everything that was supposed to clear up acne-Pro Activ, Philosophy, doctor prescribed creams and gels...nothing helped. My friend said she had this done once a month at a facialist, and since we didn't want to pay the money for yet another treatment that wouldn't work, we just picked this up at Sephora, and brought it home. It hurt sooo bad! But after a week, all the gross junk that had collected in my pores had been purged. I could see the actual skin on my forehead and the area around my nose...it was amazing(: I would totally recommend this, even though the blackhead side is pretty much useless...I can't find a way to use this. Now it's me that does it to myself, not my mom, and it's a lot less painful, and a lot more satisfying to do it to oneself than have someone else do it. This works best after a hot shower/bath or after a clay mask that's supposed to purify pores. I use the Origins charcoal mask or the Body Shop tea tree oil one. Both bring gunk up to the surface and make it easier to bring out.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Moisturizing Lotion
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/15/2008 11:27:00 PM
I got some samples of this like..last month? The first two weeks I used this, my face broke out so-o-o-o bad...but I stuck with it just like the reviews said, and noticed that the unblemished skin between pimples (gross, I know!) was radiant...which was really weird. Fast forward to the end of the little packet, and my skin had never looked so gorgeous! Oil production was cut down quite a bit and the only makeup I needed was a little sheer powder to absorb any oil that did happen to pop up. My skin tone was completely evened out-even my cheeks looked a little more even (I'll paint a little picture-generally my skin is very very white, with hot pink cheek splotches...I've started going to the beach more and my face was turning an orange-y tan with hot pink cheek splotches..not pretty, I have to say). My skin was gorgeous. But I had to admit to being curious about the regular Creme de la Mer, so I went to my nearest Neiman Marcus and got little samples. It broke me out, quite a bit worse than the moisturizing lotion and was wayyy too heavy. My face was a grease well within an hour. However, yesterday I went back to the moisturizing lotion and my skin is back to nearly flawless-except now it's kind of dry, after all the snorkeling I've been doing..which really sucks... I'm going back to the moisturizing lotion with the regular creme on my little dry flaky patches, will hope for the best, and will try to not stray anywhere else..as for the little jars of creme de la mer..well...

Conditioner -LUSH - Retread
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/13/2008 7:07:00 PM
Love this! Generally, I use this as an everyday conditioner, or after I get back from the beach (which...as much as I'm at the beach, this stuff goes pretty fast). My hair is super dry, and coloring it hasn't moisturized or improved it in any way, shape or form (new moisturizing formulas, my a$$!). This makes my hair soft and manageable, and on days where I don't have anything going on after school, I go to the gym directly after and work out, then put retread on in the shower and leave it on all afternoon and evening, then rinse it out before I go to bed. The herbal scent lasts for awhile, and since I go to a hippie school with hippie boys, they just can't get enough of the hippie herbal scent of retread in my hair. I've actually turned around to discover a guy leaning over and sniffing my hair (which was creepy, but gratifying). I can see how people wouldn't like the scent of it, I didn't like it at first either. It's a bit of an acquired smell, and it especially goes well with Dolce & Gabbanna Light Blue perfume. Highly recommended.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/13/2008 6:56:00 PM
These work really well! But they only work at certain times, and for people who say they aren't getting anything..maybe they aren't using them right! If you put these on, at like anytime, you probably won't get anything out. HOWEVER, if you put these on directly out of the shower-like don't even dry your face off, just step out and smooth it on, THEN dry off, I can almost guarantee you'll get tons of gunk out. If I use these when I did NOT just get out of the shower, nothing will really happen, but if I apply it directly out of a nice steamy shower, my pores will be infinitely clearer. I definately recommend these. Also, be sure to keep them on for awhile. I generally leave mine on for about 20-30 minutes. It should feel really hard when you touch your nose, and I've noticed that when it's time to take it off, it's raised a bit above my skin around the top of my nose.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Rock Star
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 8/4/2008 9:33:00 PM
I'll start off by saying that I adoreee Lush. I use the hair stain, the coconut dusting powder...I used to use the Enzymion moisturizer until I discovered the magic of La Mer. Anyways, I know how fast Lush soaps melt, but I've found that if I cut a bar of it up into about four or five pieces and keep the soap holder on the back of the toilet next to the shower, and keep it mostly out of the water, it will last for quite a while. I love the lather, it lathers reallly really well, at least for me (considering I usually use Philosophy Amazing Grace shower gel or J'adore shower gel). It leaves my skin so-so soft, but I like how it doesn't dry it and how I can shave with this. After a shower, I like to use the Skin Sin lotion, which feels really decadent(:

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva la Juicy Fragrance Rollerball
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 7/24/2008 1:57:00 AM
I saw this at the check out counter at Juicy Couture Ala Moana today and rubbed the sample on my wrist. "Not bad.."I thought, so I bought it as well. When I first smelled it I thought it smelled kind of like a car freshener...just the first whiff though! I fell in love with it after I wore it for awhile. The top notes are delicious, they smell like a strawberry tart, mangoes, and tropical flowers, with base notes of warm amber and musk (maybe a hint of patchouli? IDK...). I really have no idea what the fragrance notes are, but that's just what I smell. I don't think this is something I would wear everyday, but it would be nice to keep in my car and put it on if I were in a hurry. Unlike the original Juicy perfume, I don't think this is too overwhelming or sweet, and I doubt I will be using as a car freshener (like I use the first one for...)
