Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Color Protect Daily Shampoo
Olive143 4/18/2011 2:45:00 PM
I purchased Color Care shampoo and conditioner without looking at the reviews here first! I need to go back and return asap! This left my hair weighed down, scalp itchy, weird film on my hair, dry and made the brown to my hair brassy. Had to put my hair in a bun all day. Had a decent scent to it but wow, this did absolutely nothing good to my hair. I want my hair back-whaaaaaa!

Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - ... maybe baby
Olive143 3/25/2011 11:55:00 AM
I love Maybe Baby! Most scents give me a headache because they are either too floral or too sweet and just plain strong but this is just the right mix with a modern touch. It smells fresh, but not getting out of the shower soapy fresh. It has some floral and fruit, but what I most enjoy is the light musk scent. The musk is not overpowering at all. I feel that ingredient is what gives this perfume a 'flirty' description. Yet it's a mix of sugary sweet and spice. During summer it may fade so I suggest if you love the scent layer it with the MB lotion. Others complain it's too overpowering so spray lightly. The initial spray may smell overpowering but wait a few minutes. Love this. I need to try LAMB by Gwen Stefani as I read they are very similar. •Top: White ginger and apricot •Middle: Cyclamen, lichi and bergamot •Base: Peach and White Musk from hubpages.com

Shampoo -ENJOY - Sulfate-Free Hydrating Shampoo
Olive143 3/22/2011 12:24:00 PM
UPDATE 2/15/2012 - Used to be HG but I can't justify spending $20 bottle of only a few ounces (compared to other brands) to my budget. It probably only lasts for about a month with every 2 days of wash. I think TIGI brand may work for me as far as sulfate free shampoo goes. Original review: Wanted to try a new shampoo/conditioner combo for color treated hair so went to Ulta for some ideas and tips. SA referred me to ENJOY Hydrate shampoo. Skeptical as I was having tried sulfate free shampoos in the past like L'oreal or Beauty Without Cruelty...I didn't think this would make a difference. I probably will end up with dry, super fragrant, straw like hair! Anyway, I tried ENJOY with a less moisturizing conditioner (made more for volume) because I wanted to feel how hydrating the shampoo was. I must say I am very Pleased! Shampoo in itself is very hydrating! My hair feels soft, smooth, shiny and detangled. The scent is very light/fresh and after the second use, noticed much more lather then previous. I focus on my scalp and the rest of the suds to clean my hair.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Tonic Lotion
Olive143 3/18/2011 1:27:00 PM
UPDATE: 6/28/11 I stopped using for about a month just to see if there would be a difference with my hair and scalp. I MUST REPURCHASE!! Without this product notice my scalp tends to be more on the GREASIER side and MORE itchy so I have to wash my hair more often which is no good for me. Also a nice layer of protection and prep before I add styling products. Anyway, my hair loves this stuff. Repurchasing today!! Atleast I know what my hair/scalp needs and can't go without. Thank you B&B for creating a product as this for coarse, dry hair. ******************************************************************************* I use this spray religiously after washing my hair. I use on areas of my scalp where it get's most oily then mid lengths then ends of hair. Gives my scalp a slight tingle and keeps it fresh. I use on days when I don't wash my hair also, but only a small amount. Removes that oily odor after the 2nd or 3rd day of not washing. It's full of vitamins to keep your scalp and hair the nourishment it needs. I have long, color treated, coarse, dry hair. It's a great base before pre-styling. If you have fine hair the Bumble and Bumble Prep is a better alternative per the SA. I thought what can this spray possibly do for me? It looks like scented water. Hopefully you will see excellent results as I have, in time, after proper usage. Since my scalp is healthier, it's helped my hair grow much faster.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - NOW Joboba Oil
Olive143 3/18/2011 1:16:00 PM
I simply love this oil. I have very dry skin, mostly my t-zone area. I use this when I do my oil cleansing method to remove my makeup. Great for removing waterproof mascara. No tugging around my delicate eye area. I also use it before I cleanse with my Oil of Olay Sensitive Foaming cleanser - love that as well!!

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences - Color Me Happy
Olive143 1/11/2011 1:04:00 PM
I read great reviews about this product in many magazines. However, It made my hair texture like straw. I don't think it is very gentle because the fragrance is a bit overwhelming. It's like using Johnson's Baby shampoo on your hair. Claims to be gentle but not really. I use it for shaving gel. Possibly a clarifying shampoo? I can see this zapping the color and moisture right out of my hair really quickly.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
Olive143 1/11/2011 12:56:00 PM
Product is decent but notice it makes my face dry and a bit flaky. I give it 3 lippies because it does remove makeup well but leaves a tight feeling afterward. The smell is nice but would rather have no fragrance. I prefer the Ultra Foaming cleanser over this.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
Olive143 12/31/2010 2:18:00 AM
11/11/11 - I use this on my scalp and as a deep conditioner/prewash. My scalp doesn't itch as much and really balances out the oils so I don't have to wash my hair as often. Also, leaves my hair super soft. **************************************************************************** Love it! Only thing I use on my skin now in lieu of the 'traditional' lotion. Strange getting used to scooping this solid out of a jar and rubbing between my hands until it liquefies. Moisturizes like no other drug store lotion can and the smell is lovely. Funny it can be used in lieu of olive oil or any vegetable oil too for cooking. I will definitely alternate my olive oil for this when I cook, soon enough. I can imagine this solid tub of goodness to last me a year.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
Olive143 12/31/2010 1:59:00 AM
9/18/12 Update: I've noticed more pores than usual and my skin was needing more exfoliating. Where is my Mia?! I've been using this every two days now with superior results! No break outs or dryness. But what I got was barely there pores and super smooth, glowy skin. But generally I use 1/2x a week with my Cerave cleanser. First Review: So excited to get this for 25% off on spalook.com. However, I cannot use this daily but only one time weekly. For sensitve skin girls this may be too much and can cause dryness and breakouts. Just moisturize immediately after and use less often. Still happy to have this beauty tool as exfoliating can only benefit skin if used in moderation.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
Olive143 12/31/2010 12:12:00 AM
6/28/11 - Absolutely love washing my face with the OCM. I love how my skin glows and feels now!! Nothing like a good steam cleanse to exfoliate skin of all that gunk that builds up and expose fresh, youthful skin. For my sensitive skin, I skip days by not using the hot wash cloth to steam and wipe. What I do is use the coconut oil to gently rub my makeup off then use a foaming face wash to cleanse away the oil. ****************************************************************************** I love the fact that I'm using pure goodies on my skin compared to the list of 'who knows what' ingredients on typical facial cleansers. I think this is the good old fashion way to remove makeup and keep your face moisturized. I use NOW jojoba oil. Lately have been using coconut oil. 90% of the time my skin is now balanced, no more dryness, bumps and itchies be gone. My milia is finally now going away. Takes a while to get this process down, but so worth it if you want pretty skin.

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time
Olive143 12/30/2010 11:45:00 PM
UPDATE: 7/22/11 - As with any primer, wait a few minutes so it sets...wait until it's a little dry. Otherwise, the product will not work to it's full potential. ******************************************************************************* I've been using this primer for many years and 1 oz bottle can last me close to a good year. It has a light gel like consistancy and no fragrance. I also like that it has no parabens compared with Smashbox's primer which I was contemplating on purchasing. My sensitive skin never reacted harshly to this as many products seem to lately.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
Olive143 12/15/2010 5:55:00 PM
I'm so glad I didn't listen to the Sephora SA who said go for MUFE because Clinique foundations are too pink for my yellow toned skin. Not for me!!! I am a NC40 with minor imperfections. Sum it up: No breakouts, really evens out skin, covers redness and imperfections well, wonderful for dry skin as it doesn't settle into fine lines and pores but keeps it supple and moist, medium coverage yet very natural looking, lasts all day, has spf 15 and other goodies to minimize age spots and brighten skin, nice packaging, excellent price!! Not sure it will work well for oily skin types. I got color matched in 3 different Clinique counters and 2 out of 3 labeled me as 'Honey'. It may be worth going to a few if you want a good match. Does exactly as it claims-evens out skin tone. Golden Neutral, Honey, or Vanilla are the three shades to try going from light to dark for NC40 skin tone. These all have 'G' for yellow undertones as oppose to beige or pink tones. Check out the website. You can chat with a consultant or take the questionaire for your ideal foundation.

Tools -Japonesque - Japonesque MT 036 Eyelash Curler
Olive143 11/10/2010 7:52:00 PM
I adore this eye lash curler! I've been going around with uncurled lashes for months because my Loreal Voluminous mascara seemed to be the all in one product. Decided to try this curler I purchased at Ulta. I was eyeing the Shu Uemura but found a review that says Japonesque will send you free pads for the lifetime of the curler as opposed to Shu which doesn't replace but you need to purchase a new one!! Hey hey hey, happy me wallet. Wow, and it actually works wonders! I was sceptical and thought the free pads was a gimmick to buy a cheap product. But these bad boys fanned and lifted like never before! I was truly impressed and had to show my husband that I actually have lashes. What a gem of curler. I'm such a nub thinking curling my lashes will not make much of a difference. O to the M to the G.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lip Gloss in Trixie
Olive143 11/10/2010 7:05:00 PM
I love this lip gloss! I don't have the fullest lips. I would saythis gives me a good plump (not lasting) but sheer everyday pretty pinky color. After most glosses I've tried fade, dry and peeling, this continues to leave my lips moisturized with a nice stain of color left behind. This is an all in one product that lasts me a good 6 months or so. $19 for a quality brand, no harsh chemicals, good vitamins of a gloss is good thing for me! No more confusion looking around at all the millions of glosses out there. Trixie is my favorite of them all.

Moisturizers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan oil
Olive143 11/10/2010 6:25:00 PM
1/2012 - My HG moisturizer! Love this stuff. I put as my base before spf. 5/19/11 - I just purchased Watts argan oil from Amazon. $19 for 2 oz. A deal compared to half an oz of JM oil. Man, I hope this gives the same effect as the Josie Maran argan oil. 3/30/11 UPDATE: I purchased my trustworthy Argan Oil again!! The jojoba oil just wasn't cutting it. It didn't moisturize my face enough leaving it itchy and bumpy in the tzone area during mid-day. Argan oil as a base is a must for me! 3/18/11 UPDATE: I ran out of my argan oil. I started using my organic jojoba oil instead as a base. Works just as good so far. I WAS combating dry, problematic skin. I seem to break out no matter what product I use. So decided to try Josie Maran Argan oil. I played smart and purchased the travel size for $15 at Sephora. I am more than overjoyed with the results. My skin has returned to it's normal more balanced state. No more breakouts! My skin is soft, smoother, supple. I thought I was just getting older but this renewed my skin to it's youthful vigor. I apply this first, then moisturizer with spf then primer. My makeup has never looked better. It's an oil but dries quickly yet leaves skin moisturized. It has a faint smell but it doesn't linger. Been a user for about a months and use 3 drops in the a.m. and p.m. I highly recommend this product!! I hope this product works for you too!
