Eye Shadow -MAC - Living Pink - RebelRock 2005
rated 4 of 5

Wow, I'm surprised that this has such negative reviews...I'm really liking it. This LE e/s looks bright pink in the pot but once it's swiped on it comes out kind of a soft pink. Not pastel baby pink but it's definitely on the soft side. People feel that it's not unique, but it doesn't seem like any of the pink Mac eyeshadows that come to mind (at least non-LE shades). It's a frost formula and very easy to work with. Didn't have a problem with making it last. If you're a pink fan you should consider this if you can still get your hands on it.

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Silver 945 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 8/15/2005 1:41:00 AM

Hate to jump on the bandwagon for an already much reviewed product, but this is a pretty great eyeshadow. I have seven Shu e/s actually, and this is the only one I really like (all the others are non-metallics). First and most importantly is the color--it's absolutely beautiful. Not silvery but, as said before, a metallic taupey, slightly plummy color. Secondly, the texture is fabulous. Extremely buildable, soft, and long lasting. This has become my fallback to when I don't feel like coming up with a complicated eye look or am in a rush. Slap this on and I'm good to go, and look like I've spent more time on my eyes than I really have! A bit expensive but worth every penny!

Lip Liners -NARS - Creole
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 8/15/2005 1:32:00 AM

You know, it's funny because I don't think of my lips as raisin colored or grayish, but that's sort of what this lipliner color looks like, and it looks great on my lips. Barely detectable without anything over it, which is how I like lipliners to be. I know from looking at it a person would probably think "not in a million years would that look right on my lips" but really, just give it a try. It's amazing how natural it looks, and it seems to go perfectly with any shade of lipstick/gloss. If you're having trouble finding a lipliner that doesn't look orangey underneath things or turn lipstick/gloss brown, you have to give this a try. A little pricey but well worth it!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Strada
rated 3 of 5
Nursie 8/15/2005 1:24:00 AM

Well, I don't write negative reviews that often but I have to say that Strada is something of a disappointment. I was hoping it would look similar to what it's like in the pan and on my hands--a pretty lavendar--but on my eyes it turns into something much different. The first time I tried it it came out kind of muddy purple looking...so I went back to the Nars counter and told them I wanted something to pair it up with that would make it not as dark and would bring out the lighter purple-ness of it. So the MA recommended Night Star, saying that the yellowey/beige undertones would bring out the purple. So today I tried Strada with Night Star and while it seems less "muddy" looking, it does looks like I was trying to do a smokey purple eye. While smokey purple doesn't look bad on me, it's definitely not what I was looking for. Texture was nothing to rave about either, and for the Nars price I could probably find something better. Would not repurchase. NC30, brown eyes, brown hair. Edit: The only method I've found to keep this shadow somewhat true to pan color is to layer it over Mac Iris Eyes fluidliner on the lid.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Elite
rated 4 of 5
Nursie 8/12/2005 5:31:00 PM

I really like this e/s....it's kind of a golden/slightly bronzey color that's very metallic and reflective. Good lasting power. It's the veluxe pearl formula which means the texture is heavenly. I like this best lining the lower eyeline. NC20-30 depending on tan, brown eyes and hair.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick in Beige-ing
rated 1 of 5
Nursie 8/12/2005 5:23:00 PM

Ughh, this is my 3rd shadestick and I wish I hadn't decided to give them another try. My complaint with the first two (crimsonaire and taupeographic) were that they pulled so much when I put them on. I tried different techniques but it still felt like I was tugging on my skin and I try to be gentle with the eye area. Unfortunately, this alone ruins them for me. They don't crease, great lasting power, etc, but the formula just is not soft enough. Don't plan to give shadesticks a fourth chance.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow in Malt
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 8/12/2005 12:18:00 AM

This is a staple crease shadow for me. I like to use it when I'm using brighter, more flamboyant colors on the lid because it adds a little bit of dimension and polish to the look without competing with the lid color. Malt doesn't look too exciting in the pot--just another beige--but it's soooo perfect in the crease for vibrant lids. I've tried wearing a light, soft brown instead but usually it doesn't look quite right....but Malt is perfect. Please give this one a try, I can't imagine being disappointed in it!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Anti-Establishment
rated 4 of 5
Nursie 8/10/2005 9:58:00 PM

Hmmm, I'm pretty pleased with this. I bought it in a frenzy and when I got home I was worried it would be too similar to Silver Ring but IMO it's not. Way less silver, which is what I wanted. Anti-Establishment is kind of 75% charcoal gray and 25% silver. It's a frost which is unfortunate cause I prefer the veluxe pearls but the texture's alright. Good lasting power, and a good choice if you're into grays like I am!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 8/6/2005 9:55:00 PM

Definitely not an exciting color, but for me it's like buying socks: not fun to buy but a necessity nonetheless. I pretty much use Shroom everyday as a highlighter. I don't like a very shimmery browbone highlighter and Shroom gives just a tiny bit of a sheen. Enough to see that it's there but not distracting. Plus, it goes with everything--sometimes I may want something a little more gold or a little more silvery but the look would still look fine with Shroom. Will continue to rebuy.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Summerfete
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 7/28/2005 1:49:00 AM

You know at first I didn't want this and thought I would love Aquamelon (both from the same LE collection) but after wearing Summerfete a few time I really love it. Really, really love it. Starting to worry about the fact that it's LE kind of loving it. It's so pretty when I'm wearing kind of a smoky eye or bright e/s colors when I want a subtle lip look to balance it out. Summerfete shows up as sort of a slightly rosy hint on my lips with a slight shimmer. So pretty. I'm NC 20-30 depending on tan, brown eyes, brown hair. I love the lip conditioners and at first didn't like the pot form until they came out with the stick collection which wasn't as moisturizing IMO...so now I'm happy to stick with the pot form. If you can get your hands on this you should give it a try!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sweet Lust
rated 3 of 5
Nursie 7/26/2005 7:06:00 AM

As mentioned before, Sweet Lust is a Very light, pale, delicate pink with silver sparkles. I've actually found it to be very versatile--a MA put this over Bare Canvas paint and put Bamboo in the crease for a nice neutral eye look to wear with red lips and it looks very pretty that way. I've also paired it with a lot of peaches such as Sweeten Up and also with darker pinks in the crease. It's a nice color, but definitely light so you should test it in the store to see if it shows up on you! Try using the patting on method rather than brushing. Or use a sponge applicator. Also, I'd be a much happier girl if it were not a lustre but I guess I can't have everything! Overall, a versatile color that I would buy again. For reference, I'm NC20-30 depending on tan, brown eyes, brown hair

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Spring Bean
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 7/6/2005 10:05:00 PM

Although scary looking in the tube, this comes out a beautiful caramel color on my lips. A great nude without looking too dead and washed out. Very high shine and I love the lustreglass formula.

Lipstick -Bare Escentuals - Remember
rated 5 of 5
Nursie 7/3/2005 2:03:00 PM

I got this in a kit at the store but didn't really notice the lipstick until I got home because I was excited about other things in the kit. This is the main item from the kit that I ended up using! It's the perfect everyday pink lipstick for me...not too bright but not too brownish pink. I love it and it feels great...not drying at all. Hopefully I'll be able to buy this again separate from the kit. I'm NC20-30 depending on tan, brown eyes, brown hair

Blush -MAC - Melba
rated 4 of 5
Nursie 7/2/2005 8:56:00 AM

Got this because I needed a blush to wear with orange eyeshadows. Basically, Melba comes out as a basic, matte peach blush--which is pretty much what I wanted. Slap it on with some bronzer and I thought it looked pretty nice on my NC20-30 (depending on tan) skin.

Mascara -MAC - Zoom lash
rated 4 of 5
Nursie 7/2/2005 8:53:00 AM

I was generally satisfied with this mascara but prefer the Fiber Riche because I prefer a little more volume to length, which is all that Zoom lash gave me. My main complaint is the water resistant formula--I don't like waterproof or water resistant formulas because they're too much of a pain to get off completely. However, if I plan on being somewhere super humid or shedding some tears I'd buy this again.
