Blush -NARS - Amour
NerdyLibrarianGirl 6/5/2012 6:38:00 PM
I love Nars blushes. This shade although described as "peachy pink" is really, really pink and quite a bit darker than you'd expect. It's pretty but I have to be careful when applying it or it's way too much. A bit difficult for fair skin. I don't think I'd repurchase this shade.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
NerdyLibrarianGirl 6/5/2012 6:31:00 PM
Worst thing I ever tried. I returned it. Like trying to colour your lips with a dried out sharpie. Totally uneven. Just awful!

Lip Liners -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection in Seduce #210
NerdyLibrarianGirl 3/11/2012 2:34:00 PM
I like the Lip Perfection liner and would like to try some more shades. Its really creamy, easy to apply, not too dry, and its pretty long-wearing. 210 "seduce" is a very peachy nude. I have not noticed any sparkle or glitter. Its great for applying all over your lips before a nude lipstick.

Lip Liners -Too Faced - Perfect Lips
NerdyLibrarianGirl 3/11/2012 2:25:00 PM
I liked this lip liner, but honestly, its pretty overpriced (nearly $20 in Canada). There are many other similar pinky-nude liners out there that cost way less. I have NYX's retractable lip liner in #10 "nude" and it is identical ($6.99), and NYX's lip pencil in 810 "natural" which is also pretty close ($3.99). I dont think this shade is really that unique. Sure, its smooth and a nice lip liner, but not significantly better quality than a drug store brand, so I deducted lippies for the price. (The packaging is really cute though - liner itself is a pink floral print with cursive writing).

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
NerdyLibrarianGirl 3/11/2012 8:37:00 AM
I like 2 soooo much better than the original! My complaints about the first naked palette were: Not enough matte shades, and too many warm tones that didnt really work for cool skin. The Naked 2 fixed both problems. For me, the shades in this palette are much more wearable; More taupes and greys, instead of several versions of bronze. I also did not have a shade in the first naked pallette that I could use on my browbone or to blend, that was similar to my skintone and more matte (something like MAC's brule). It sucked to have a huge pallette and still need other eyeshadows. The shade Foxy in the naked 2 solved that problem too. This pallette is more useful and versatile. I love the shades Suspect & Pistol! I quite like the packaging, although I think I prefer the packaging of the original better. I also find the dual ended brush better quality and more usable than the brush that came with the original, and I like getting a lipgloss instead of primer, as I already have the UD primer. If I had to choose only one, I would definitely recommend naked 2.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Blush Brush
NerdyLibrarianGirl 3/11/2012 7:57:00 AM
Love this brush! Super soft (like all the RT brushes) and has not shed a single hair. I really like the shape for applying blush. I am fair, and its perfect for just applying a little product and building it up if you like. Amazing brush for the price.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Powder Brush
NerdyLibrarianGirl 3/11/2012 7:48:00 AM
Love it! This is the softest brush and it hasnt shed a single hair. I had purchased several other large powder brushes (Quo, MUG) and they always leave hairs all over my face. For under $10 this brush is amazing quality!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
NerdyLibrarianGirl 2/12/2012 7:55:00 PM
Maybe its too gentle? This cleanser did not take my makeup off or fully cleanse my skin. It also felt like it left a film on my skin. Plus, I hated the smell. Would not repurchase.

Polishes -Creative Nail Design - Shellac UV Polish System - 14-Day Wear
NerdyLibrarianGirl 2/12/2012 7:51:00 PM
I had never had a manicure at a salon, because I am always annoyed by how quickly nail polish starts chipping off. It never seemed worth it. I heard about shellac, which CND claims lasts 14 days, so I gave it a try. I got it in Asphalt, described as "concrete grey". The colour was beautiful; really dark grey. I got many compliments on it. The shellac colour is way more intense than regular polish, and so shiny! Did it last 14 days? Yes! I didnt get my first chip until day 13. By day 15 or 16 it had started to wear off a little around the egdes on several of my nails, and on a couple of nails, it started to lift up around the edges. I paid $35 (Canadian). But to actually have polish looking perfect for 2 weeks, it was totally worth it. I loved it. Will definitely do it again.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow
NerdyLibrarianGirl 2/8/2012 9:51:00 PM
Bought the Tough as Taupe and the Audacious Asphalt. The taupe is definitely very gray, which I really like. The asphalt is a dark, smokey charcoal. Really smooth, easy to apply and blend, and long-wearing. I would like to get a few more colours.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - DCT for lips - Daily Conditioning Treatment SPF 20

If I could stack up all of the empty containers of this stuff I have used in my life, it would be scary! Its the only lip balm I use. If I could only take 1 thing to a deserted island with me, it would be this.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in bourbon
NerdyLibrarianGirl 2/5/2012 12:32:00 PM
I had not tried any of the UD pencils, and bought the shade bourbon, as it is one of their best sellers. Wow. Is there anything that UD does not put a ridiculous amount of glitter in? UD is super popular, so people must like that, but I am just not into sparkle for everyday. I love the rich chocolate brown colour, but why the gold glitter? And the liner stays put, but the glitter ends up everywhere. I wouldnt re-purchase.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
NerdyLibrarianGirl 2/5/2012 12:24:00 PM
Love the brush! Probably my favourite mascara brush ever. Its so soft and flexible (I believe the Sephora salesgirl said its silicon?). Its really easy to apply. It has a thinner, wetter texture than other mascaras, and combined with the brush it just glides on. No clumpiness. I agree with the other reviews that its very long-wearing. I have not had trouble removing it, but I use pre-moistened eyemakeup remover cloths. What I also love is that my eyelashes still feel like eyelashes. No more crunchy lashes! This is the best mascara I've ever used.
