Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Malibu
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 3/29/2004 1:46:00 PM

I finally bought my first Multiple...this color was advised by MUAers after several requests I made on the Makeup board, actually Malibu and Cannes, so I purchased this one first. It's great, I'm PPP cool undertone, green eyed, and it really gives me a nice glow. A multiple is a MUST HAVE for everyone here. Great product, will purchase another one for sure! If you haven't already, go and get 1!

I love the color and the texture and it has a strong lasting power. They give your lips a "pearly" look, you want to pout....:-)it's very sexy. The little pot is so cute too. I'm definitely gonna try some more Lip Lacquer

Loose Powders -Chantecaille - Loose powder
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 3/29/2004 1:36:00 PM

It's a long time since I haven't used a powder. They use to dry out my skin. But I heard about this talc free powder and gave it a try. I think it's great. I don't know loose powder enough to give and efficient critisism, but for me it will do, it's gonna be my HG loose powder for this season...and for many futur seasons if more affinity...

Crème -Chantecaille - Real Skin SPF30 (reformulated)
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 3/29/2004 1:30:00 PM

I waited so long for this...finally a nice MUAer CP it for me from the US...Thanks to her she did:-)because I'm glad I got this. First time I try a compact foundation, this one is excellent, very creamy and smooth. Sufficient coverage for me, and I like the little sponge and mirror that goes with it. It has a good staying power, last all day, just doesn't like humidity. Just one thing, the color is not right and make me a little paler than I am (it's fresh), next time I'll try a darker shade. This is, too, a must to try.

That's definitely one of the best blushes I've ever tried. I'm PPP cool undertone green eyes, Bobbi Brown Porcelain, BECCA LSC Sand, Chantecaille Fresh. The color is a cool pastel pink. It gives a NATURAL sheer finish, very fresh and tender.I love it, and I think it's perfect for spring. I wouldn't have found it if not on MUA. I'm also gonna try more MAC Sheertone.

CD/Books/Movies -Bobbi Brown - Book - Bobbi Brown Beauty: The Ultimate Beauty Resource
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/29/2004 6:14:00 AM

This is a book written with integrity. Bobbi is sharing her knowledges and thoughts about MU, beauty and also feeling beautiful. She encourages you to find and enhance your natural beauty WITH WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. This book gave me the feeling that you own the best talent to bring out to their best your natural features. She doesn't make you feel like she is a guru who would say "to be beautiful you must do this, buy that, think this way..."and so on. For instance I personaly don't agree with her opinion on skin care. Beauty is about what works for you and is up to you. The technical skills she shared are basic, but a must-know to start right with your MU. I will probably purchase Kevin Aucoin and François Nars's book for more technical skills. Thanks to Bobbi Brown's book for making my beauty education. Thanks also to Bobbi Brown for sharing her talent with us, because at the end of the book, your selfconfidence is empowered. I bought this book 4 years ago and when I doubt and my self-esteem is low, I open this book and read some pages and I feel confident about myself again.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel eyeliner in Granite
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/26/2004 3:31:00 AM

This is magic. If liquid's one would get transparant once dry and pens are difficult to apply, this one is just fabulous, it applies easly (with the appropriate BB brush), the color last, the granite is great if, like me, black is to harsh for you. For some reason it really looks natural. I'm not an eyeliner fan and this is perfect. The packaging is really cute. will repurchase and will probably also get the violet.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Kabuki
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/24/2004 12:39:00 PM

I just bought it for the raves on MUA. It's the best brush I've owned (I almost have BB's whole collection of brushes & they are great). IAM IN LOVE...GO&GET IT. This one is ultra soft, dense, don't shed and the shape it's cut is fabulous to apply blush, loose or pressed powder and bronzer. Also, it's just the cutest brush I've ever used. The little case that goes with it looks so chic! A must have!

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/10/2004 7:15:00 AM

When I first tried it I hated it. I wasn't used to the ozone kind of smell...It almost gave me a headache!! I felt that I had to persevere, and now I feel so good when I wear this perfume. And I've learnt to love all the aquatic floral fragances, they are my favorites. Top note : Lotus, Freesia, Cyclamen, Melon / Middle note : Peony, Carnation, Lily, Lily of the valley / Base note : Cedar, Musk, Amber, Sandal. It's poweful, it's definetely something you love or you hate.

Conditioner -TiGi - Catwalk Honey & Oatmeal conditioner [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/8/2004 9:18:00 AM

I've got fine hair type but a lot of hair, this was from far moisturising enough for me.I left it 1 or 2 minutes before rinsing off, then applied a styling treatement, also moisturising, from Sebastian (see my other review for this product) all together it's from far the greatest treatement for my hair that are in a very bad condition at the moment. It didn't leave my hair heavy like some conditioner. My hair also looked more shiny...however I'm not sure which one of the 2 products helped my hair shining more. In my opinion this conditioner is really good for fine to medium hair type, I think it may not be rich enough for thick hair.UPDATE: it's not this product that leaves my hair shiny, I wore it alone and the result was less obvious. Still believe it's a good product, but remove 1 lipstick.

Styling Products -Sebastian - laminates curl polish
rated 4 of 5
MauveRebelle 2/8/2004 9:06:00 AM

Waouuu! I'm rather impressed with this styling product. It's rather efficient. I've fine hair, curly/wavy, with very dry ends and rather oily scalp. Last season I did a color and they really are in the worst shape ever. Usually, every styling products that I've used so far have made my hair dry and frizzy, without volume, and the morning after my hair would have the texture of straw. I'd decided not to buy anything anymore, but for some reasons, I was advised this product by an hairdresser, who actually wasn't even my hairdresser but I happened to be in her salon because I wanted to try some TiGi products...for some reason she was in the mood for selling Sebastian rather than Tigi for my curls, anyway I tried it out. She also sold me a product from TiGi Catwalk, oatmeal & honey conditioner, that I've used together with this one. The mixture left my hair moisturised, defined my curls and the day after my hair were still in a good shape and sooooo soft & shiny...and I must add, not heavy at all. It's really really worth a try! See my catwalk review...Update:See my Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey conditioner review, also removed a lipstick.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - La Chasse aux Papillons
rated 3 of 5
MauveRebelle 1/28/2004 5:13:00 AM

I find it very special, I'll wear it for special occasion, in summer particularly. I don't know what's in it, but reminds me of something clean. It's like a deep fresh odour. Not sure I will wear it for very long. I think would be more suitable for a more mature person.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Mini Brush Set (in hard cylindrical case)
rated 5 of 5
MauveRebelle 1/16/2004 12:15:00 PM

This is the best brushes Set ever invented!! I took the Deluxe Mini Brush Roll Set in limited edition with only brushes inside (6). It follows me in my handbag everywhere. The lips brush is missing but I had a mini size one from a lip palette, so I swapped with an eye brush. Fantastic item, should be in every handbag! Dunno why it's only a limited edition, it's so great!!!
