Overall Review: The VS body butters smell so much...different than the rest of the Garden Collection. Its a huge improvement to be honest. I find the sprays to smell like straight up alcohol. The body butters on the other hand - have a SLIGHT powder smell in the alcohol's place. The texture is whipped, super moisturizing, & to die for! ;) I actually hate the other Love Spell items. But in the body butter...it is delicious! Smells exactly like gummy bears to me. This is my absolute favorite for summer! I LOVE that this body butter doesn't contain mineral oil, & has Shea Butter as the 3rd ingredient. (However a few of the VS body butters contain isopropyl alcohol, which is very dehydrating. Yikes. I can vouch that Love Spell DOES NOT though. Hallelulah!) Price: 2 Lippies I bought this in a 6 VS Garden items for $30 deal. This seems to be an year long sale. Haha. So for $5, this was a great deal! Packaging Quality: 5 Lippies I'm not going to lie & say this is the most elegant/luxurious packaging around. However it is cute & looks great in my bathroom! I love the fact it comes in a tub. Would you buy this product again? Yes. Obviously! I'm even thinking of going back to stock up.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Advantage 3 in 1 Foaming Acne Wash
LorelaiNoah 4/30/2010 4:01:00 AM
Woah...I can't believe all the negative reviews on here. I love this stuff! It makes my skin feel super clean. It won't get rid of my acne...but I never expected any cleanser to do so either. I will repurchase unless I find this stuff makes my skin worse in the future.
Price: 4 lippies. This is a bit more pricey than I'd prefer to pay. Packaging quality: 4 lippies. The bottle is beautiful, glass, & has faux gold detailing. I'm not crazy about the pink ribbon it though. It would have gotten a 5, however the spray cap broke off & now it's hard to get any perfume out of the bottle. Overall rating: 3 lippies. This fragrance isn't bad nor offensive. The lasting power is decent. However the scent...is very mediocre. It doesn't seem to really smell like anything other than baby powder. No complexity or depth, which I tend to look for in a perfume. I got a bottle two years ago on christmas & have made a dent in the usage of it. Would you buy this product again?: No. Its not bad at all, yet certainly something I wouldn't not bother wasting money on.
Price: 5 Lippies. I bet most people probably think this is decently priced. However I'm not a blush fanatic, & thus I'd rather splurge on other items. Why pay $25 when I can purchase a dupe for $7? Packaging Quality: 4 Lippies Nothing gorgeous but it is fully functional. Sleek & classy plus it comes with a mirror inside. Overall Rating: 3 Lippies. First of all there is nothing unique about this blush. Its a cool toned medium pink with huge glitter chunks. Everything else about this blush is just mediocre. Nothing horrible...yet nothing impressive. I found a dupe called Afterglow made by Ulta. They sell that for $7. Would you buy this product again: No. My HG blush is Revlon Wine w Everything. So if you have similar coloring to me - be sure to check that one out!
Treatments -Clairol - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In
LorelaiNoah 4/23/2010 5:15:00 PM
Price: 1 lippie. Dirt cheap! I bought it for $2.50 at Target. That alone made me very happy. Packaging Quality: 4 Lippies Comes in a cool toned red bottle with a pump. The label isn't the absolute cutest out there, but all in all the packaging is not hideous whatsoever. Overall Rating: 4 lippies. I would have given this a 3.5 if possible. Don't get me wrong, I love this stuff. However the ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 lippies is because of the ingredients. Going through the reviews here sort of made me paranoid about whether or not this was causing more damage than good. I apply a tiny bit of coconut oil before this to counteract any potential drying effects the alcohol in this leave-in might have. ON THE OTHER HAND, nothing can fully repair damaged hair. So its not like I was expecting a miracle. THIS STUFF MAKES MY DRY HAIR FEEL SO SOFT & FLAWLESS! It masks any damage. I also love love love the color of this stuff. It's light pink/purple & very Viva La Gaga esque. Everyone else says this stuff smells strongly of candy & raspberries. I can't detect any fragrance in it though, but that might be due to my poor sense of smell + body chemistry. Its a win win situation either-way. Would you buy this product again?: YES! Unless I feel its causing damage. So far so good. I am very satisfied with my purchase. :)
Overall Rating: 5 Its not a miracle product, nor HG status. However it is pretty damn close. I've noticed a HUGE difference in the texture of my skin since using it. In my opinion - RoC goes beyond any other company when it comes to science of the skin. Using Retinol in a stretchmark lotion is genius!!! It wont just fade your marks. It'll exfoliate skin cells off allowing them to "regrow". Thus skin texture becomes a lot more even. The moisturizing properties of this were pretty good. However I followed up with a body butter after applying anyways. Price: 5 lippies $39 for a 6 oz bottle is pretty insane. HOWEVER - I picked up a can of it from Ross for only $9! Make sure you shop around, discounts are out there for anything. With this being said - its still definitely worth the $39 if that's your last resort. Heck I'd even go as far to say it works just as good as some of the super high end brands out there that charge $100+. ;) Packaging Quality: 4 lippies. Nothing I'd want to showcase on my vanity. However its not hideous. The packaging itself is well designed to distribute the lotion evenly. I didn't buy this based on packaging, so I don't really care... Would you buy this again?: Yes! I'd be an idiot not repurchase. Although I might not need to - this stuff really has restored my skin quite a bit.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
LorelaiNoah 4/17/2010 4:11:00 AM
This is one of those products that you think, "dang that seems like a waste of money for something pointless". But once you try it - you simply can't live without it! ;) I use Coconut Oil for my hair. It leaves it soft, conditioned, & shiny. I also mix it in with body butter to extra-moisturize my skin. Last but not least, I must say I love the scent of this stuff. Come on, it's coconut...who doesn't love that smell? Not overpowering or offensive, compliments any perfume you decide to wear.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Lemon
LorelaiNoah 4/15/2010 6:59:00 AM
This lotion smells like light lemon candy. Unfortunately it's not strong nor long lasting, not like I found the fragrance amazing enough to desire a stronger scent anyways. The lotion's moisturizing properties were mediocre at best. I would not repurchase nor recommend. There are many better B&BW scents out, such as Black Raspberry Vanilla (yummy!).
Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Dumb Blonde Reconstructor
LorelaiNoah 4/12/2010 10:14:00 PM
This stuff is decent. It didn't preform any miracles on my hair though, so I'm going to try it again & leave it in for 30 min. I think it has a lot of potential though based on the ingredients & texture. Last but not least - the packaging is cute & it smells like bananas. :)
Cons: -Took three layers to achieve full color. -Can be streaky if not carefully applied. Pros: -Beautiful shimmery + creamy gold. -No green or orange tones. -Decent lasting power & quality. -Dirt cheap, only $2 @ Walmart! I would definitely repurchase. I love Pure Ice nail polishes! I want every shade they have to offer. :) They're owned by Bari Cosmetics in case anyone was wondering. Its been around for quite some time so as to why this is listed under Unlisted Brand is beyond me...perhaps its because most people think Pure Ice is the actual CO? Lol.
I love this e/s duo. I bought it in the shade as pictured.."Sweet Dusk". Such a beautiful pink & purple! It was nice to know I wasn't putting harsh make up on my delicate sensitive eyes - but the results were even nicer than that knowledge. ;) This duo was PERFECT for my green eyes. The shades are fully pigmented & blended well. I am impressed & will definitely repurchase.
Eye Shadow -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Eye Powder - Purple Rain
LorelaiNoah 4/12/2010 9:49:00 PM
Nothing horrible...but don't expect it to be of high quality either. The colors were pretty chalky & had no lasting power. I wouldn't repurchase.
Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Kal-eye-descope Baked Duo Rock n Roll
LorelaiNoah 4/12/2010 9:47:00 PM
I liked this e/s! It had the perfect amount of shimmer & pigment. However I wasn't crazy about the darker purple..it had a gray tint to it & thus I think this e/s duo would be better for blue eyes rather than green. I do love the light purple half though. Its hard to find the perfect purple shade for my coloring, so I'd probably repurchase even for just the lighter shade. Also - Hard Candy has the cutest packaging ever!
Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational-Pink Sand
LorelaiNoah 4/12/2010 9:44:00 PM
Pros: -Didn't completely dry out my lips. Cons: -Super frosty -Too sheer It was frosty enough for me to despise lipstick in general. I will be sticking to Revlon lip glosses. I'm so glad I got this l/s for free. I will be giving it to my mother.
For starters - I am nearly albino. EVERY foundation on the face of this planet oxidizes on my skin, so even the lightest shades of foundation end up too dark/orangey. I stumbled upon the reviews from this product & read that it'll make you a few shades lighter. I figured since every foundation I use is too dark maybe this correcting powder could be the solution. GENIUS IDEA! It does make my foundation 2 shades lighter. Now I don't have to stress anymore about my face looking orange due to oxidation a few hours later. The skin on my face finally matches the color of my neck haha. I apply this over liquid foundation (Neutrogena Healthy Skin) by the way. It leaves me with healthy glowing skin. I don't see any shimmer as others have mentioned, but its not matte either. IF there is shimmer I can assure you its nothing like Revlon's Photoready fndt (no shiny glitter chunks, haha). This is HG status for sure in my book. I'm even going to stock up. Loves it!
