Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - Marshmallow Vanishing Creme

I ADORE this cream. The scent is an acquired taste, but I lovelovelove it. I do find that it is a little heavy (not a summer moisturizer for most people) but it delivers the goods: softer, smoother, plumper skin. Fanstastic to heap on neck and chest at night to keep things supple - great as an eye cream. Elegant jar, just lovely. Oh...but I do wish they would put it in a TUBE because of my cootie-phobia. ANyways - great for moisture. I don't use it along my jawline because of my cherished adult acne, but everywhere else it's fab.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - avocado hair treatment

This is indeed a very strange product, but it's a great little multi-tasker. When I had long hair and lived in a humid climate I used to rub some between my palms (only a little) and smooth it over my hair before I left for the day, and it tamed frizzies and dead-ends, gave my hair a deep shine, and smelled wonderful. I would also do what another commenter said and work it into my hair and leave it all day (or night) and have super lustrous locks after I shampooed it out. But in the shower..? Hmm. It is really hard to spread when your hands and hair are wet, and I found I had to condition again after I rinsed it out because it left my fine hair incredibley tangled. I guess different hair types will react differently. But it is wonderful as a groom and leave-in conditioner.

Masks -Origins - Clear Improvement

With all the great masks out there on the market...why did I sink 18.00 into this one? It does have salycilic acid, and feels pretty good, but I just can't say that it actually does anything. Then again, I have very stubborn adult acne. SOmeone with only minor skin problems might enjoy this mask, but it's not the real deal the SA sold me on.

Scrubs -Origins - Modern Friction
rated 3 of 5

I let myself get talked into buying this...it's pretty meh. Doesn't really do anything special (that seems to be my experience with Origins). I do like the idea of using it on dry skin, and it does seem to do a good job of exfoliating - but similar to micro-dermabrasion?! No way, Jose. It's a neat consistency and smells good, but you can do better. Use St. Ives Apricot on dry skin and get the same results, I bet!

Cleansers -Origins - Checks and Balances
rated 3 of 5

I bought this cleanser because I have adult acne and was told to use a cream-based cleanser instead of a gel or alcohol based cleanser which are usually targeted towards teen's skin needs. I figured I would try this one since I do have some combo skin. Didn't do a thang for me. I tried it in a fit of desperation during an unusually bad break out - nothing. It did smell really nice and I loved the lather (did seem to rinse pretty clean) but it didn't balance me out at all. I've switched to ABRA Detox Face Wash and that seems to be helping. If you don't have any particular needs for your skin beyond cleansing, you might like this. But it sure doesn't work any miracles!

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Eau des 4 Reines
rated 3 of 5

Like most of L'Occitane's products, this bottle is an elegant and feminine addition to your dressing table. Personally I love the fragarance because it is a really different take on the typical Rose scent - much more complex yet diffused than say, a knock-out, single note rose essential oil. But DO test some on yourself before purchasing! It turns to cough syrup on my skin! Like something took a turn for the worse. However, I gave the bottle to my friend, and it smells so gorgeous on her I didn't recognize it when I smelled it on her! And she adores it so much (as does her husband) that she totes the bottle around with her everywhere. Bottom line: Beautiful packaging, all right price, and TEST FIRST!

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Repair Serum with Attar of Rose
rated 4 of 5

I am generally a huge fan of All Things Burts Bees, and this lovely little serum is no exception! It really does do an amazing job of smoothing the area around my eyes, and my breaks-out-at-everything skin can even tolerate it on my cheeks and neck. I can understand that the herbal-y scent may not be for everyone, but I think it smells wonderful. I am subtracting one lippy because I agree with the other users who said it's too easy for the oil to get into your eyelashes and sometimes makes the vision blurry - must use only a very tiny amount, but it is so worth it.
