Fragrances -LUSH - B Never Cocktail Perfume

Very nice ylang-ylang meets lavander and a touch of jasmine. It approaches the feeling of sophisticated perfume but it's very wearable and pleasant. Because of the notes that aren't easy to recognize some people think this also smells of apple pie and cinnamon. It doesn't, it smells good and pleasant and it might evoke the mood of comfort and spiceyness but it is not a gourmands, far from it. It's more a wannabee aldehyde but because of the ingredients used it is just a very pleasant perfume, somewhat mature perfume.. well it tries to be.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Amour by Kenzo

I don't like lolita lempicka, I can't stand the harsh liquorice note in it which pretty much defines lolita lempicka. I do enjoy L by LL and yes Amour falls into the same category as L. They both have plenty of vanilla in them but enough to set them apart from other vanilla based perfumes where the vanilla will start to dominate in the dry down. As mentioned before Amour has this very tranquil and powedery, almost a rice dessert note in it. And I think it is the frangipani that gives it a little depth. It is stunning, but it will not make you smell like a dessert entirely like many other gourmands can do. It's lovely and easy to wear, it's not loud but subtle and sweet and comforting without making you smell like 15 year old who has her first vanilla perfume.

Haven't found the difference yet between this one and Kenzo Amour. Will edit when I do since I have them both.

Fragrances -Acqua di Parma - Blu Mediterraneo Mandorlo Di Sicilia
rated 3 of 5

Very longlasting, that's how I would describe many of the Di Parma perfumes, and this one is no exception. It smells strongly of almonds, and warm oranges. Not very unpleasant, and a real gourmand, comfort scent. It lingers forever and wears close to the skin with 2 sprays on the wrist, I do think that one spray on the neck will give good sillage. It feels a bit like a perfume that could belong in the range of CsP, it has the same warm quality to it and I bet there is some vanilla among the almonds and oranges. I wouldn't say this is a real orange scent, it is definitly more almonds but it is balanced out by the oranges. Think of snowcake but with more complexity and less of a plastic feel to it. Not bad, not bad at all. But maybe better for in the winter than the height of summer. You could wear it in the summer but you'd love it more in the winter

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Datura Noir

It smells very familiar first of all, and creamy and sweet. My bf thought it was very soild and well rounded. He desribes perfumes in a very geometrical way and I havenīt found a way to translate it yet. I canīt detect any specific notes really, I just get creamy goodyness and I think it could maybe some amberish or maybe even vanilla. Although by now I want perfumes that do not smell of vanilla since I already have so many it seems. If I deeply inhale my wrist I also get a sense of something herbal and incensy, but very light and sweet. Not like an indian type of store incense but more a very faint whiff from a church if you are standing outside in roses. I think itīs very smoothe toobut still familiar, it reminds me of something my mother sometimes wore I think. I found out its a bit like Hypnotic Poison, and there is almond and vanilla in this one too. Itīs not bad, and I wouldnīt mind a full bottle but Iīm not over the moon with it either.

Fragrances -Creed - Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie
rated 5 of 5
LianH 7/31/2008 11:17:00 AM

Heavy, cloying, addictive, tempting, sultry, comforting, demanding. Jasmin will grab you and keep you, you might think you can wander of for a second but then she is back demanding you stick with her and worship. You need a strong personality to pull this off otherwise the perfume will wear you instead of the other way around. One spray will last for hours and 2 is more than plenty. But my god, this is good and addictive. Itīs like you are captured in this cloud of some entity that will not let you go and all you can do is ride it out and enjoy it. Entirely captivating.

Fragrances -Creed - Virgin Island Water
rated 2 of 5

Virgin Island Water smells a lot like coconus and vanilla, like suntan lotion or hawain dancing girls. I think it resembles Compoir Sud Pacificīs Vanille Coco a lot and that one is warmer, lasts longer and is cheaper. This is not what I expected from Creed

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Fou d Absinthe
rated 5 of 5

I smelled it and adored it, maybe not for everyday on me but definitly everyday on my more manly half ( I canīt say better half). Itīs very sharp, strong and loud at first but mellows out a little later on. Itīs fresh but boozy so itīs not like other perfumes where it is about smelling clean and fresh because it offers something more than just that. I think you need to be the right type of person to pull this off, if you are looking for something that smells fresh but without the clean trend and something noticeable instead this might work for you. For women i think this can be easily layered to make it a bit more wearable if you find it too masculine.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - The Pour un Ete
rated 4 of 5
LianH 7/31/2008 11:09:00 AM

Itīs tea for two made a little more wearable and easy on the nose. Itīs less dark and edgy probably because of the jasmine and something that smells like lavander to me. This is more approachable than the tea for two but still offers a little bit more than other tea scents on the market today.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Tea for Two
rated 5 of 5
LianH 7/31/2008 11:07:00 AM

Other houses started to catch on the tea trend after līArtisan released this. But their tea notes are watered down versions where you donīt get any tea notes at all, just something green and smokey. This people is a tea perfume like they are meant to be, itīs a dark black tea that is very smokey, very dark and mysterious. If you want perfume to smell light and pretty instead of a little odd and dark it wonīt be for you.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Jicky
rated 5 of 5
LianH 7/31/2008 11:05:00 AM

boozy perfection. If you are tired of ínnocentī perfumes for women, where you must smell like a teenager,a baby or like food. Jicky is there for you, mature, strange and unbelievable. It smells a little boozy, a little edgy, adventurous and just GOOD: This is why guerlain deserves it reputation as a good house, forget about līinstant and insolence stuff.
