Two words: Holy Grail!!! Soiree is such a beautiful cool plum color! It blends effortlessly into my skin and looks completely natural. Plus, it literally lasts all day long. No fading or changing of color at all! I'm extremely impressed with how much brighter and awake my face looks! It's a little expensive ($25.50), and the most I've ever paid for blush, but it's entirely worth it and should last well over a year.

Styling Products -KMS California - Flat Out straightening balm

That does it!! This is the THIRD KMS product I've used that absolutely SUCKS, to put it mildly! Not only did it not remove much frizz, but it left my thick hair extremely greasy. After using it for a few days, it dried the heck out of my hair. Plus, this was really expensive, too!! I am not impressed. No way am I ever going to buy anything from KMS again! EVER!

This shampoo is absolutely awful! It doesn't clean my hair very well and leaves my hair looking dull and completely stripped of moisture!! Not good at all.

Hair -KMS California - Hair Play - defining pomade

This pomade dried out my hair and turned it into straw!!! No wonder--it contains SD alcohol!!! Didn't smooth my hair out or control frizzies, either!! I'm throwing this stuff away!!!

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum

This stuff damaged my skin, too!!!! And I got the FRAGRANCE-FREE version of the serum, thinking I would be OK! It felt smooth going on and my foundation looked great over it, BUT then I developed really bad cystic acne a few days later, and my face still looks messed up as I type this review. I'm not sure if it's because this stuff isn't oil-free, or maybe the silicone did it. I don't know. What I do know is that I'm never going buy anything from Olay again because for some reason everything I've used from them breaks me out!!! Also, I think the claims that this serum "regenerates" the skin are a little bit exaggerated because I noticed no improvement in the condition of my skin. This crap is going back to Rite-Aid for a refund.

Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Enhancing Lotion with UV protection

I didn't like this product. It was thick and made my face look extremely dull, to the point where people asked me if I was sick. This lotion simply sat on my skin, and my regular oil-free matte foundation looked very fake over it. Plus, I didn't notice any "regeneration" taking place. I think I might try the fragrance-free Regenerist serum, just for the heck of it to see if I can get better results.

Mascara -Lancome - Amplicils

This mascara is just average, IMHO. Amplicils was supposed to do it all: "give lashes panoramic volume in a formula that amplifies, curls and separates lashes." It doesn't give me much volume at all, which is disappointing, especially since Lancome discontinued BOTH of its volumizing mascaras, Intencils and Magnificils. I think this mascara is possibly Lancome's worst.

BIG, HUGE RAVE!!! This is my HG pomade for my thick, coarse, very frizzy hair. You only have to use a tiny amount for your entire hair, and it makes it frizz-free all day long, even in extremely humid, rainy weather!!! Makes my hair so sleek, healthy, and shiny (but never greasy), and I love the pleasant, light rose smell. All the other pomades I've tried (and wasted a lot of money on) from different companies don't even compare to this. They either didn't control frizz, or they dried my hair out and made my hair even frizzier! Why did it take me so long to try THIS pomade out? I paid $18 for a 2.7 oz jar. A little goes a LONG way, so this is completely worth it to me. You have got to try this out for yourself ASAP!!!

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Shadowlights- Vega

I finally bought this--my first ever Chanel eyeshadow. I have to say I'm quite pleased with it. Vega is such a beautiful, shimmery silvery-taupe color that is quite unique, IMHO. It makes my hazel eyes look enormous, and they absolutely sparkle!! I feel so sexy and feminine with this on!! On my PPP, neutral/cool skin, this doesn't turn brown at all (thankfully). Clinique's version can't even compare to this! Vega is clearly a superior eyeshadow: extremely silky, very pigmented, long-lasting, and absolutely radiant color! I didn't know an eyeshadow could melt onto my eyelids like that. The quality of Chanel's eyeshadows is unbelievably high!! $21.50 seems like a lot to pay for an eyeshadow, but you get 0.07 oz of extremely pigmented eyeshadow that should last more than a year. Can't rave enough--I'm so glad I caved in and bought it! One of my HG eyeshadows, and I definitely plan on saving up and buying more makeup from Chanel. **UPDATE 11/13/03--I'm still in love with this shadow! I've been wearing it practically everyday because it looks great with everything! Absolutely beautiful!!**

I love this! One of my HG eyeliners! Does exactly as is advertised. A rich black that stays put all day until you take it off. Can't rave enough about it!

Toners -Lancome - tonique clarte

I don't understand why this product got such low reviews! I have very oily, cystic acne-prone, and slightly sensitive skin. Tonique Clarte and the Gel Clarte cleanser (which are advertised as being for combo skin), have COMPLETELY cleared up my skin, and now I no longer feel ashamed walking out in public without foundation! This toner really gets all the extra oil off my face without making it dry. My face feels completely balanced and healthy, and Tonique Clarte has noticeably shrunk the size of my pores! Plus, it got rid of all those nasty blackheads on my nose!!! This toner smells really fresh and light, like a fruit salad. It's not strong or unpleasant at all--unlike the cleansers and toners Lancome carries for oily skin! I'm really pleased with this excellent product and will repurchase.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Coygirl

I have to disagree with the majority of positive reviews on this particular blush. This isn't a plum color at all and looks horrible with my neutral/cool PPP skin!!! This is coming from someone who wears plum, pink, and other cool-tone colors very well!! Coygirl looks incredibly fake as a blush color, and I don't know of anyone whose skin turns that color naturally. If you don't believe me, go to the MAC counter and see for yourself. I like the texture of Sheertone blushes, but this particular color is vastly overrated, IMHO.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Mascara

What a terrible product!! The primer is extremely watery and did not noticeable lengthen my lashes. The mascara on the opposite end made my lashes even skinnier, and I ended up with puny, spiderlike lashes. I thought that perhaps I applied this incorrectly, but no, after several attempts the results were the same. The tube is too long and I end up hitting myself in the cheek when I try to use it, which prevents me from reaching every lash. Completely useless product that doesn't do what it says. So disappointed. :(
