Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes Pop - Plum Freeze
Jetaime 12/27/2008 7:00:00 PM
This lip gloss is divine. I found this color at Marshall's for $8 and thought it would look nice on my PPP skin. My lips are somewhat pigmented and I find this color looks beautiful over bare lips. It has a soft lavender tone, that makes my skin tone look glowy. I also love this color over pink shades of lipstick. It gives it depth and a beautiful sheen. Its sticky enough to last but doesn't stick to my hair or feel uncomfortable. I really can't say enough good things about this lip gloss.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Soap and Glory Cosmetics- Feet Dreams
Jetaime 12/24/2008 2:49:00 AM
This product, from the Soap and Glory Cosmetics line at Target, claims to "fight foot fatigue, hydrate & relieve 'inflated' legs". It's packaged in a cute pump bottle, with the typical snarky Soap and Glory retro style. The size is pretty large- 16.2 fl oz. It retails for $9.99 USD. My mom and I both suffer from swollen ankles and calves, from water retention and being on our feet a lot. My mom likes the Soap and Glory line as much as I do so she decided to give this product a try and needless to say, I had to borrow. Its a gel consistency (green colored) that you're advised to massage into feet, ankles, and calves. My mom tried this product and loved how cooling (minty tingle) and relaxing it was but felt it was too sticky to use bare. I'd recommend massaging it into your legs after a bath or even better, (as I did) during a bath. It's true luxury in the bath tub and feels great. I can't say I noticed a ton of swelling go down but my legs were surely less tense and stiff. This is a fun beauty product that isn't a necessity by any means but a nice treat for yourself or loved one.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Raspberry Pot Rouge
Jetaime 12/23/2008 8:40:00 PM
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this product yet. It's my absolute favorite cream blush. I've tried both the Pink Raspberry and Raspberry pot rouges. With my fair skin and blonde hair, you'd think Pink Raspberry would be the best match for me but I prefer this one. I think its because this color is close my natural lip tone but very YLBB. I know so many people have tried Pot Rouge but if you haven't--it's a creamy, somewhat waxy blush that comes in a round pot with a screw top. They are quite pigmented yet you can build color easily. I love this blush--it's natural and looks luminous when paired with BB's shimmer bricks (I use the rose one). Staying power is good as well. I recommend PPP try this color out even you're a Pink Raspberry fan--there's something very deep and sexy about this shade. Click "continued" for swatches and pictures.

Eye Makeup Remover -Unlisted Brand - Target Eye Makeup Remover
Jetaime 12/23/2008 11:11:00 AM
Based on the new reviews, it seems that Target has reformatted their eye makeup remover. Previously, it was in a bottle similar to L'oreal's eye makeup remover and quite good overall. Now, it looks like Neutrogena's eye makeup remover but it is too greasy! It feels so oily on my lid and doesn't even do the best job removing. I'll probably use up my bottle and then try to find another remover. I prefer DS ones since I'd rather save $$. I wish they hadn't changed the formula. Bad idea, Target!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss- Cherries in the Glow [DISCONTINUED]
Jetaime 12/21/2008 1:35:00 AM
I picked up this gloss because I love the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Afterglow. It's a sheer cherry (not a bright red gloss) and applies well like the other Super Lustrous lgs. The only thing I dislike about this gloss is the mixing of the consistency and pigmentation...let me explain. It just looks just a tad watery with the red sheen. So, I feel like it would look better if the color was stronger OR the consistency was a little tackier. Nevertheless, I am quite pleased with this gloss. Def worth a try.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Pink Afterglow 020
Jetaime 12/21/2008 1:17:00 AM
Loving this gloss! I bought this on a total whim. I needed a pretty pink shiny lipgloss to go with a snow bunny look. This gloss is so gorgeous- natural pink with iridescent shimmers. It's application so smooth, surprisingly for a DS gloss. I prefer lip glosses with doe footed applicators so this is great. I also love the design--it's classic and a bit reminiscent of Chanel or Lancome. Lasting power isn't incredibly as with most glosses. It's a great thing to keep in my purse for a YLBB look to apply with ease. You can build the color with more applications. I want every color!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set
Jetaime 12/20/2008 3:32:00 AM
I am pretty darn pleased with this set! You get a blush brush, eye shading brush, eyeliner brush, lash & brow/groomer, and concealer brush. I have mixed feelings about the eyeshadow brush--it picks up well but the application isn't even enough as others have noted. I love wish perhaps that they had included a crease brush as well. The eyeshading brush is a bit large for my crease. The concealer brush is great--it's dense enough to pick up harder concealers like Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage, which I use to hide acne scars. The blush brush is good but not my favorite. I usually blend with my fingers (on myself) for cream blush or stipple. It's a good powder brush though. The eyeliner brush worked surprisingly well as the did the lash comb. I will most likely mix and match this collection with some older Estee Lauder (actually quite good) eye brushes I have until I can afford to buy new ones. Love the eco-friendly value and hemp roll. This collection is worth a try!

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Candy Bars in Park Avenue Praline
Jetaime 12/19/2008 6:41:00 PM
These eyeshadows were a bit of a disappoint to me. I purchased this palette at Ulta for $25 because I'm a big fan of Too Faced products. The colors are varying shades of beige-y brown, ending with a deep brown coloring go up to a light beige. My main problem with this set (and perhaps I would I have realized this if I'd look closer before buying) is that the shades have too many red undertones in them. I'm fair skinned, neutral to cool toned, and I just don't care for that shade on my skin. I love the last deep brown color though. The pigmentation isn't great either and neither is the wear. Too bad because I thought this would have been one of my new favorite neutrals. As a shimmer bar, it's pretty good. It's a little darker than I'd normally prefer, but with some blending it comes out a nice bronzer. The packaging, of course, is very cute and girly. I love the engraved TF model in the actual eyeshadows. Comes with a nice sided mirror as well. I wouldn't recommend this product. You can find a lot nicer neutrals for less $$ with richer undertones and staying power.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
Jetaime 12/18/2008 7:53:00 PM
I wanted to love this mascara. I received as a birthday present and was impressed with the initial application. I have short, stick straight, blonde lashes. Their own redeemable quality is that they are quite thick and voluminous. Anyway, this mascara has no "wow-factor" for me. I LOVE the dark black color but it's so clumpy and heavy. My straight lashes hung down further because of the thick formula. The brush is huge, which left streaks on my upper lids. As noted, the product is quite expensive and IMO, generally not worth the $$ (however, mascara varies widely person to person).

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lypsyl - Regular Lip Balm
Jetaime 12/18/2008 2:05:00 PM
I have the stick version of this product. Let me start by saying I'm quite picky about lip balms (mostly BC I'm addict and my expectations are high). I've been looking for a good lip balm that's not messy yet quite moisturizing. I usually use Vaseline Lip Therapy but it has a tendency to ball up on the corners of my lips. This stuff works like a dream. The wax is hard enough to maintain its shape without being stiff (problem I have with Chapstick) and doesn't leave goop all over your fingers and lips. I love the clicker handle that allows you to use just enough product. There isn't much a scent- just a faint, natural bees wax fragrance. Unlike Carmex, it didn't make my lips burn and unlike Kiehl's, my lips didn't look like they'd just taken a dip in the goop factory. My sister has unusually dry lips and she adores this stuff. Recommend to anyone especially as an on the go lip balm.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Jetaime 12/18/2008 1:59:00 PM
How in the world did I go so long without knowing about this product? A friend recently introduced it to me and it's now HG status. I have acne prone skin (mostly cystic) that gets quite dry in the winter. I also take anti-biotics and retin-a so drying out is a common use throughout the year. I'm not a regular user of moisturizer other than SPF bc my skin simply can't take it. Lately, I've been using this product to dab on flakey areas. It works wonderfully! The consistency is thick without being hard to spread. It's a lot like Vaseline, of course, but less greasy and runny. I also use this as an over night lip treatment (wouldn't recommend more than a pinch to use during the day). My lips feel like butter (seriously..). Love, love, love! Can't be beat.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cream Oil Shower
Jetaime 8/13/2008 10:43:00 PM
This is my new favorite body wash! I have a love for dove products, particularly their body washes. I've been eyeing this Cream Oil wash for awhile and decided to try it when it was on sale. I have a strange combo of very oil acne prone skin on my face and shoulders and dry, itchy skin on the rest of my body. I usually use SalAc to prevent acne and follow up with this product. It smells divine...creamy, buttery and delicious..and moisturizing so well without being greasy. Amazing- I want to try the rose one next!

Scrubs -Boots - Amazon Forest - Mango & Babassu Body Scrub
Jetaime 8/7/2008 12:20:00 AM
I found this scrub at Target in the Boots/No.7 line for about $10. It comes in a 13.5 fl oz plastic container with a screw top lid. I was intrigured by the mixed scents our mago butter (to soften) and babassu oil (to moisturize) in this exfoliant. The smell is a bit strong, a buttery mango, but fades nicely. As for the "scrub" part of this product, I'd say it's gentle yet effective. I have fairly smooth skin but my legs are quite dry. I usually scrub a few times a week and follow up with Neutrogena's body oil to keep the flakies and itchiness at bay. I've been pleased with this body scrub. It could be somewhat thicker--has more a liquid quality than most scrubs I've used, which is troublesome in this type of container. Overall, a good buy and will repurchase if I need to.

Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Sun Protection SPF 50 with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E
Jetaime 8/5/2008 4:21:00 PM
I had a much better experience w this sunscreen than I expected. My skin is oily and acne prone plus very sensitive to the sun since I use retin-a and take antibiotics. I've been trying all summer to find a sunscreen for my face that wouldn't break me out. Well, one day I borrowed this sunscreen from sister bc I knew I'd be in the sun a lot and had no other choice. This product gives *wonderful* protection from the sun, smells nice, and applies easily. It is greasy..I'll probably move down to SPF 30 or use the faces variety for daily use. This really can't be beat in terms of a strong, active sunscreen. I've been using it for awhile and have barely broken out. Just a few clogged pores due to the high SPF.

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Duo ~ Oregon
Jetaime 8/3/2008 12:15:00 AM
Lovely! I was rec'd this shadow by the boards as a good starting shadow for someone just getting into greens. I picked it up at Sephora and thought the texture looked silky but wasn't too sure about the color in the case. However, applied it looks beautiful! I created a smokey green eye with this duo plus some black shadow as liner and two coats of mascara. I am a PPP with neutral skin tones (leaning cool, I guess) with hazel eyes. I expected this to bring out the green in my eyes but it also brought out the blue! Weird but pretty! My only complaint is the shadow creased early on which rarely happens to me =/ I'll work with it some more to see if I can prevent. Otherwise, a must have!
