Bath Treatments -Palmers - Body Oil

I went for it first because of the scent and the hope of quick application. I was using it for quite a while and liked it. However after some time I realized that it gets onto my sheets and even clothes and they will smell like old cooking oil. It's even hard to get out with washing. I switched to the lotion and I don't have this problem. The lotion is the best one I've ever used. Scent is one major factor for me when using skincare products and Palmer's cocoa lotion wins!

Fragrances -Givenchy - Ange ou Demon

I'm just sampling it, so I can't say how it is after hours and hours of dridown. But I have to say it's a pretty unique fragrance. (I do smell the similarity to Omina, but I could hardly smell Omina on myself so I can't really have an opinion about it). It does have some soapy notes in it, and I don't normally like soapy. I just like that it's not one of those new, too avarage perfumes that lack character. (I've been quite disappointed in Escada S and YSL Elle and the likes recently). This one definitely has character, and I actually like the love/hate perfumes exactly for that reason. Not everybody has to like it. I'm not sure I'd buy it but I take my hat off for Givenchy for this unique creation. (I don't know Hypnose, so I can't compare. I may not know enough fragrances to say that this is unique.) Update: its sweetness is a cold sweetness, not warm and inviting. I still think it's a unique perfume but not for me.

Very sharp and headache inducing on me. Not pleasant at all.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Emporio Armani Diamonds

It's a very elegant scent. I didn't like it so much at the beginning but now as it's dried down it's very pleasant. I'm not good at describing scents, but here is what Sephora says: "This surprising and decadent fragrance is based on the traditional symbol of femininity, the rose, but is twisted with luscious, edible notes to create a truly desirable combination. Notes: Lychee, Raspberry, Rose, Freesia, Lily of the Valley, Vetiver, Cedar Wood, Patchouli, Vanilla." I wouldn't wear it every day, but for special occasions when I want to appear elegant, sophisticated and 'rich'. Yes you feel like you're an expensive woman when you wear this.

Fragrances -Avon - Naturals Vanilla Body Spray
rated 5 of 5
Emese1 10/30/2007 12:26:00 PM

Wonderful comfy gourmandish vanilla. I like to wear it even just at home and to bed. : ) It doesn't have great staying power, but oh well... it's just a body spray. It's mainly for myself, not for those around me. My 5 yr old niece kept snuggling up to me and smelling my neck when I wore it. : ) It's was worth it!

Liquid -Ultima II - Wonderwear Longwearing [DISCONTINUED]

Natural looking and stays on all day. Agree with the previous previewers about how great it is. I just wish the color would be more natural looking. I wear Buff and I think it's slightly too pink. I'm afraid if I buy Linen it'll be too orange. I apply it with a sponge.

It's a very pleasant fragrance but without much uniqueness. I liked it more the first time I wore it. I tried it again today and I think I would only buy it if there weren't any others available and I needed one desperately. : ) Having said this I'm very picky about perfume so if I'd wear it occasionally then it's one of a very very few scents I like.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Emese1 10/28/2007 12:52:00 PM

If I put little it doesn't cover well enough. If I put more it's way too obvious and still doesn't give me the coverage I want. In addition I also feel like wearing mud on my face (has another reviewer said the same thing about mud? not sure). I have very oily face and often breakouts. I just haven't found a powder foundation that would give me what I need: control oil (not the highest priority), even out my patchy skintone, cover blemishes and look as natural as possible. I also use Chanel Double Perfection powder occasionally and have similar gripes about it. I think it also it (Chanel) gives me breakouts, though I can't say for sure, 'cause I have hormonal acne anyway. EDIT I gave it 3 lippies now. I put it on shortly after moisturizing my face and it feels a bit better. On a whim I tried the concealer that I got in the sample package ('intensive light'). I'd thought it'd be too light and too yellow. Well it's the perfect color for me. It does look natural and evens out the red undertones and suits my yellow toned skin. If I use a good concealer underneath that won't budge I can use it for those day when I'm totally in a rush (like this morning) and don't mind not having a 'perfect' face (which I'm finding more and more impossible even with full coverage liquid mu). I think I'm going to order this for those days when I don't have half an hour to put on liquid with a sponge. I also had a total oil breakthrough on my nose after a few hours. UPDATE: This is the only foundation I'm willing to put on my face now. I'm still giving it a rating of 3, because I wish it'd cover better, but I think with the right brushes that I'm wating for it'll do that too. I like that it's natural and has only a few ingredients. It's more and more important for me these days. I started using Differin a couple of months ago and my face is clearing up,so I don't need as much coverage as I used to. I totally gave up liquid foundation. I like that I've found the right shade (Fawn) which is a pale, yellow tone shade. I add a tiny bit of color with Light Neutral on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. I also use a cream concealer under my eyes, otherwise I think it'd excentuate fine lines. I can't imagine what I must've looked like for years when I wore the wrong color and texture of foundation (and living in a place where I didn't have the constructive criticism of my sisters).I really think it's the most natural looking makeup I've ever used.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Hypnotic Poison
rated 5 of 5
Emese1 10/2/2007 4:56:00 PM

This may be in the category of Addict and JPG Classique but whereas I can't wear those two I love HP. The vanilla comes out so nice to me in this one. It's a very comforting fragrance to me. I wouldn't wear it everyday, only on special occasions, like an evening date with a guy... or just home when I want to feel nice and cosy. UPDATE I still love it and can't really keep it for 'special occasions'. I'm always tempted to put it on when I go out (even for shopping or movies or the like). Update 2: When i asked my sister what she thought of it (she likes fresh frags) she said vanilla cake drenched in booze. : ) Oh yeah!

Eye Primer -Artdeco - Eyeshadow Base
rated 4 of 5
Emese1 10/2/2007 4:44:00 PM

I can just continue the rave about this product. Although it's my first proper e/s base I love it. I've used different ways to make my e/s stay in place (powder foundation, liquid + powder, etc) but none of those worked so well and so long as this one. I have very oily eyelids and this makes e/s stick for at least 8 hours. The only thing is I get an occasional small pimple under my brows which I didn't get before, and I suspected this e/s base, but I'm not sure. UPDATE: I took away one lippie. Because of the pot packaging it dries out before I can finish it. It's really annoying. I've ordered Lorac's Behind the Scenes eye primer now, I'll see how that compares.

Fragrances -Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique EDT
rated 4 of 5
Emese1 10/1/2007 7:36:00 AM

It smells expensive. Similar to Addict, but better (I guess because the edt wasn't so overpowering). I really wanted to like it, unfortunately it's just not me, totally different from my personality. And if I wear heavier, more oriental scents I like to smell the vanilla most, like in Hypnotic Poison, bacuse it's more comforting to me.

Is this unisex? For me it's definitely a masculine scent, can't imagine wearing it. But I'd probably like it on a man.

I think it's a beautiful smell, but not for my age (I'm 33). I can imagine wearing it in 20 years time maybe. Good staying power. Also smells expensive, if that makes sense. A beautiful fresh iris scent.I think it's good for hot weather.

Fragrances -Diptyque - Philosykos
rated 4 of 5
Emese1 9/28/2007 9:54:00 AM

I didn't like it first. It was too green, too dry, too masculine at the beginning, too powdery later. Then I smelled it on my sister and it was wonderful. Fresh, unique, sweet and dry at the same time (if it makes sense with a slightly green fig). So I gave it another chance and I really like it. It will be my one of my summer fragrances for very hot months. Love it. I also like that it's quite unique.

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure for women
rated 2 of 5
Emese1 9/28/2007 9:49:00 AM

It actually reminded me of Noa which makes me think of bug spray. This is more like the mixture of bug spray and a nondescript body lotion on me. Also very overwhelming and gave me a headache, though I tried edt only. I should've learned by now that Chanel is just not for me.
