Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe
DoraZ 2/25/2011 11:50:00 PM
This is my HG eye shadow...a shadow that every hazel or green-eyed girl ought to own, IMHO. I love the way my eyes look when I wear this, the green just POPS and I get positive comments from my DH every single time!!!! The pigmentation is just gorgeous...it's silky, shimmery, pigmented and easy to blend. I'm on my 2nd pot of this and will buy a 3rd as soon as I need to!

Concealers -MAC - Select Moisturecover
DoraZ 2/25/2011 11:31:00 PM
I use this during the wintertime (I use MAC's Select Cover-Up during the Summertime) and it's moisturizing without being too thick and cakey. It blends and covers dark, under-eye circles well without creasing into the skin around my eyes. I'm also impressed with how this covers and conceals blemishes, especially when I use it with a concealer brush. This is the only concealer I've every tried that covers blemishes on my face without flaking!

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
DoraZ 2/25/2011 10:59:00 PM
I was getting the "winter blues" and noticing my skin looking lackluster and tired. I decided I needed a highlighter or something to brighten my face, especially around the eyes and this turned out to be just what I needed! Now, this cream is definitely on the heavy side but so far it's working fabulously for the wintertime on my dry, dull skin. I've been using it over two months now with no noticeable breakouts. It can tend to be slightly greasy if you use too much, so I make sure I apply this with a really light hand. Since I don't use any foundation or powder, only a mattifier by Clinique, this shows up really well and makes me look dewy, fresh and soft. I also like how it's a shimmery highlighter, not a glittery one which I just cannot do anymore now that I'm in my 30's. LOVE!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush Pink Swoon
DoraZ 2/25/2011 10:43:00 PM
This blush looks really, really bright in the pan but goes on smoothly and lovely on my NW20 skin tone. It's sheer enough that it doesn't look clownish and it blends well so I always end up with beautifully flushed, pink cheeks. I agree with other reviewers that say it's reminiscent of the way your cheeks look when you just step out of a hot shower or the hot tub.

Blush -MAC - Blooming [DISCONTINUED]
DoraZ 2/25/2011 10:26:00 PM
This is almost exactly like MAC's Cubic blush only it is a little more mauve than pink and has some shimmer to it. And of course since I absolutely LOVE Cubic, of course I absolutely adore Blooming as well! It gives me the same natural flush that Cubic does just with a little more "drama" due to the shimmer which isn't too over the top even for daytime.

Blush -MAC - Cubic
DoraZ 2/25/2011 10:12:00 PM
This has become my HG blush, the color is simply gorgeous and the texture is smooth and silky and blends evenly without being the least little bit chalky. This is one of the very few colors of blush that I have that I don't have to "match" with the other makeup I wear that day. I love the way it looks like a natural flush on my NW20 skintone and even though it has beige/brown undertones it never looks muddy on me.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
DoraZ 2/25/2011 9:55:00 PM
This mascara is almost worse than Maybelline's Great Lash, in my opinion. I found the mascara to be wet and heavy, and my lashes lost their curl almost immediately after application even after extensive session with my eyelash curler. I dislike the rubber brush as well, it doesn't seem to hold much mascara and is too unwieldy, I prefer mascaras with the spoolie type brush, they hold mascara better.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
DoraZ 2/25/2011 9:39:00 PM
This mascara just seems "middle of the road" to me, in other words, it's nothing special. On the plus side it doesn't clump which is nice, it applies well and I did like that this seems to lengthen my lashes considerably. However, it didn't add much in the way of volume and ended up smudging under my eyes by the end of the day. Plus the bend-y brush is a bit weird too...back to my Maybelline Full 'n Soft, again!!!!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

I'm at a total loss as to why this is considered a "cult favorite" and how on earth this mascara ever won the Best of Beauty Award for Best Drugstore Mascara in Allure Magazine because this mascara is terrible! The wand is tiny, the mascara refuses to apply smoothly and makes my lashes look clumpy and spikey and flakes under my eyes at the first opportunity. Every once and a while CVS or Target as a "buy one/get one" event on Maybelline mascara and I try this to see if it's improved...it never does!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
DoraZ 2/25/2011 9:18:00 PM
This has been my HG mascara for years and years, I've tried many other mascaras and keep coming back to this one. It gives me full, long, flexible lashes that don't turn brittle and break and is fabulous and natural for everyday wear. I was so surprised when I read reviews on this by ladies who say it flakes terribly, it wears fabulously on me, with nary a smudge or flake all day! The washable washes right off and the waterproof just needs a dab of makeup remover. Maybe it has something to do with the way I apply it? I curl my lashes, apply the Full 'n Soft mascara and then do a quick swipe with a clean spoolie followed by another application of mascara on both upper and lower lashes. All I know is that I'll continue to use this until they discontinue it...which will be a sad, sad day for me indeed!
