Eye Shadow -MAC - Mauvism Paint
Deeny 2/7/2003 11:47:00 PM
I waited a long time to review this, because I hated it the first few times I used it! It really needs a brush application and a steady hand. Mauvism is a really bright light lavendar. The staying power of the color is amazing, but it creases on me, same as everything else. I will say that it looks good all day & all night, even with a lot of running around! This is a perfect product for when you don't have time to do any touch-ups. I'm definetly gonna try more shades!

Eyes -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Chalk Kit
Deeny 2/3/2003 11:00:00 AM
The colors in the Shimmer Chalk set are really nice. There are a lot of muted, cool tones that compliment my skin tone nicely. I use the Rose and Beige colors the most, as they go with everything! Plus, they seem to last longer than my MAC pigments. My one beef is with the packaging - they come in little tubes from which you need to creatively extract the product! If Bobbi decided to re-package it, I'd keep buying! Overall great product!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass Stains
Deeny 1/31/2003 7:02:00 PM
I have these in Hi-Resin Rose & Silly, and though these shades are pretty, I couldn't make them last. I managed to get additional shades in Vivid-Tone Violet and Filtered Yellow, and wow! I think the violet is really what the lipglass stains are supposed to be about. It is a very vivid stain, and has MAJOR lasting power! Though I can't really wear the yellow alone, it does amazing things to my lipsticks! (Slice off some Fluid lipstick & mix it with some yellow - the perfect beige!) These shades are highly recommended!

Foundations -MAC - All Tints
Deeny 1/31/2003 6:55:00 PM
I have this Tint in Pink Pearl (as well as Bronze), and it's really pretty. At first it looks way too pink, but blends to a very nice glow. I wish it came in a powder form (similar to Studiofix), but I can live with this. And I'd also like to see it with a wand of some sort. All in all, a fun product!

Other -MAC - Bronze Tint
Deeny 1/31/2003 6:49:00 PM
Great as a highliter, and very sheer! I have the Gleam Coat in Copperino, and that can get streaky. This tint is like a sheer wash that provides enough glow to get you through the day. Nice!

Mascara -MAC - Pro Lash
Deeny 1/31/2003 6:40:00 PM
I have the Pro Lash in Twisted Tulip & Hocus Crocus. I never thought I would enjoy bright colored mascaras, but these are great! You can use the Tulip shade with all sorts of burgandy & gold shadows, and substitute it for a brown mascara. Hocus is a bit more limited, but looks fabulous with Kitschmas pigment, Mauvism paint & any light, cool-shaded shadow. These are a lot of fun, and I'll definetly repurchase!

Mascara -MAC - Pro Longlash
Deeny 1/31/2003 6:33:00 PM
I like the mascara, hate the brush. It's a good product, though - nice texture, washes off, and doesn't leave clumps near your lashline. (Hate that!) And you gotta love the pigmented color (Pitch Black really is pitch black!) Overall, for the price, a nice product!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rose Pro Pigment Powder
Deeny 1/29/2003 7:21:00 PM
I LOVE this pigment! I've been lusting after this shade for a long time, and finally managed to get my paws on it. If you can imagine a deep rose color spiked with a deep apricot gold shimmer throughout, that's Rose pigment. I really love this on my eyes (NC 30-35) since a lot of regular shadows just don't show up on me! You can also get the most sexy shimmer on your lips by mixing with a little lipglass. (pick up an artists' palette for $0.99) Like Kitchmas & Frost, this is super shimmery & not for the faint of heart! LOVE this shade!!

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
Deeny 1/23/2003 2:45:00 PM
Smolder is a rich, beautilful deep black liner that glides on thick & easy. My only gripe is that it disappears too quickly! I line my lower lids on a daily basis (to look more ethnic) and this one only lasts about 3 hours...bummer. But I have to give 4 lippies for that deep black richness! Estee Lauder makes a longer lasting liner IMO.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Frost
Deeny 1/22/2003 11:02:00 PM
This is a cool pigment. I got this thanks to a great MUA'er (thanks ouaphi!), and I'm having a lot of fun with this! The consistency is that of Kitchmas and Rose - almost glittery particles instead of smooth milled pigment. It also means that it is super sparkly! I've been wanting a light, neutral pigment to highlight with, and this is perfect. It really enhances your other makeup!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Lip Glosse
Deeny 1/21/2003 10:04:00 PM
This is truly an amazing product. I have this in Gold Mine, and I can wear it over l/s, l/g or just on its own! I thought the color would only take me through summer, but it plumps your lips so nicely, I can't stop wearing it! (I just pair it with cooler shades for winter.) Makes your lips feel fat & smooth (I don't know if that makes any sense?) and definetly sexy. This is a winner!

Lips -Unlisted Brand - VIP Cosmetics Liquid Shine
Deeny 1/21/2003 9:50:00 PM
Oh my god, I love this line! I had the Mauve liquid shine, so I had to try another. This one is Iced Rose - gorgeous! It's a very deep, rich rose with all the color you could hope for. I blotted it & used L'oreal's Lip Glosse' in Gold Mine on top - THE perfect, plumped sexy lip!! (yay!) Run to the store (or online) and get these! They rock!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Snowgirl Lipglass
Deeny 1/21/2003 9:36:00 PM
This is a good lipglass in some respects, such as the gloss itself isn't heavy & you get lots of sparkle. In other respects, however, it stinks (does it really need to be this gritty??) It feels luminous & light until the gloss wears off - then you're left with rough glitter on your lips. Overall, I like this (pretty glitter!), but I'll go with Jane's Megabites gloss in Chandelier :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Blue Brown
Deeny 1/21/2003 7:27:00 PM

I only gave this a 2 because I get a kick out of duo-chromatic shades. I love pigments, but this one looked like crap on. (I'm a NC35) The reasoning behind this pigment really escapes me. Green-brown is such a great shade, why does this one suck? Would a pink-brown work? Who knows - just stay away from this. (unless you like weird, unflattering shades.)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Pink Opal
Deeny 1/21/2003 7:07:00 PM
Love this shade! I've mostly used this as a browbone highlighter, but it's very versatile. A wash over the lids gives you a natural look with a little shine, and layering it over boring shadows brings them depth. It's really one of my favorite neutrals, ready for work or play!
