Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup
Charma22 1/6/2007 2:50:00 PM
Wow. This is an amazing powder. I purchased this when it first came out, so maybe back in September maybe? or end of August? I am really impressed. I purchased 2W1 Sand since it's a tad more yellow toned and I am a very yellow person (in fact I would have preferred even more yellow). This works like no other to control oil and it really does wear all day. Coverage is definately moderate. This is the longest wearing powder I have ever tried. The only thing that holds me back is the color match. Ideally, I would be matched to Tawny which is 3W1, but b/c of my oily skin, I do Sand so that when it oxidizes, it'll be a better match. I don't mind the blue round compact (EL packaging once used to turn me off big time, but it's growing on me). If I ran out of it, and I was confused at which powders I should buy next or try, I might get this again, but I'm just on the lookout for a more yellow powder with similiar wearing capabilities (currently trying Ben Nye). For reference, I am a 302 in Cinema Secrets, M5 in Lorac, and Clinique Vanilla.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Cherry Eyeshadow
Charma22 1/6/2007 2:43:00 PM
While I do love Cherry, a sheer white pink with silver glitter, I have not and probably will not purchase. Everytime I'm at a Sephora or Ulta, I take a look at this color and sometimes put it on, but alas, it's just not enough for me to plunk down the $15 or so on this e/s. It's kind of grainy and the glitter does seem to go everywhere. My only concern is that w/ the 100+ e/s I own, that I'd only wear this maybe the first day I got it and then wouldn't reach for it again. It is pretty though. I am a very super yellow toned person, and while this is a georgeous e/s color, I think that other colors flatter me more. But, if i received this as a gift, I would gladly accept, but no, I will not be buying it.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Endless Lipstick in Perfect Plum
Charma22 1/6/2007 2:32:00 PM
Wow. Great color. I have been a huge fan of these l/s for about a month ever since buying my first Endless Platinum l/s. What I love is the super smooth texture. Very good wear, not too drying, can be a matte or slightly shiny finish (depending on the color). Perfect Plum is just that. It's a slightly deeper MLBB shade that totally makes me look more put together. It reminds me just a little of Clinique Pink Chocolate l/s, but this one has a hint more plum which makes it more wearable for my skin tone. It is more pigmented, which is probably also why it wears for a longer time. No, you can't makeout for long hours or eat at a huge greasy buffet w/o having to touch this up. But even w/ speaking, I can go 4-5 hours w/o having to reapply. If you are comparing this l/s to say, Clinique Colour Surge regular line, then yes, this is slightly more drying b/c it doesn't impart a ton of shine and isn't as creamy. But, I don't mind the texture b/c I love the long wear. It's not "un"comfortable for me. I have 5 colors now, 3 being part of the Endless Platinum line (me being 25, I still love the shimmer) and this one, my more sophiciated l/s. And the fact that these are currently my favorite really says something, since I own a TON (over 100 l/s) from brands including, BB, EL, Clinique, Lancome, Chanel, Mac, Shu, LM, TM, Nars, etc. I also do love the feminiate platinum colored tubes. A+. And one more thing, many stores from time to time will have these on sale. My first two I bought at a BOGOF, and the last two i purchased and only $4.99 from Ulta. I'm definately going to get more this week. I hope they're still on sale :)

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Pink Love
Charma22 1/6/2007 1:38:00 PM
Purchased in Duty Free, this color is very similiar to Nars Angelika, but I do find that even though Angelika (which I really do adore), is super pigmented w/ silver shimmer, Pink Love has the same great texture and shimmer. This is the ultimate girly pink cheeks blush. It's absolutely georgeous.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo - Twice the Spice
Charma22 1/6/2007 1:35:00 PM
This is a really pretty warm bronzy duo. The colors are very very slightly orange. Great for everyday. Just a touch of shimmer. The lighter color is a medium toned (but goes on more sheer), peachy bronze color and the darker is a warm peachy brown. Beautiful together.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Super Rich Conditioner
Charma22 1/6/2007 1:08:00 PM
WOW!!!! This used along w/ Gentle Shampoo and the DEEP conditoner has never made my hair feel so healthy. I was skeptical at first and a little hesitant given the price, but am so glad I tried it. I've been using all three of these for the past month and in just that time, my overdried/damaged, frizzed out hair is now SHINY and Healthy and Super smooth! I cannot believe it. To give you an idea of my hair before was that i was suffering from repairing my dried out bleached out hair so it was very strawlike. You name a deep conditioner (Terax, L'oreal Therapy, Phyto, Preve, Pantene, Sunsilk, Matrix, Redken, etc) and I tried it and it was nice, but overall, did nothing to quench my hair. After the first time of using these, i wasn't that impressed. I felt like my other stuff was doing a decent job. But, now I see and feel what difference this has made. This is my process. I put Deep conditioner in as a treatment....leave it on my at least an hour to overnight, then I shampoo w/ gentle shampoo (some reviews state that this feels dry, but that's b/c they don't condition), and then put in the super rich conditioner and I leave it in while I shave, wash my shave, use body wash, that kind of stuff, and then I rinse off. I do this routine whenever I wash my hair and b/c of the texture, I only wash once or twice a week. Give this a try. I have never had hair like this before! Worth the price.

Other -Ben Nye - Aqua Glitter
Charma22 1/6/2007 12:30:00 PM
Wow! I was on a longwearing makeup kick yesterday and drove to do theatrical stores trying to find my favorite long wearing foundation, well, first I drove to the costume shop on Hollywood Blvd, but they carry mainly Mehron, and I don't really know much about that brand, so that was a no go. Then I drove to Cinema Secrets in Burbank, which I should have gone to first b/c they have a ton more stuff (this is actually my 3rd trip there). So, I have this Ben Nye product guide and began looking at products that i was interested in. This was one of them. I chose to get the Copper shade. This is georgeous. I use it on top of my smokey bronzey eyeshadow and it is absolutely georgeous!!!!! Super beautiful! I was debating between the Gold and the Copper and I figured since my skin color is already super super yellow (hence why I have a hard time finding a foundation color, but have found one w/ Cinema Secrets Ultimate in 302), that the Gold might be yellow overkill. So, i bought the copper. It comes in a fat plastic bottle and when you unscrew the top, there is a brush applicator, which i use to apply to my fingers and then lightly coat my lids. You do have to shake up the bottle to mix the glitter and the liquid. This is perhaps one of my favorite purchases in a long time. And such a good deal at only $7. I'm tempted to go back and get some other fun colors to play around with. Oh yeah, the wear of this is really good. It flakes just a little, but the copper just goes slightly underneath my eyes and it looks really pretty, like I meant to do that....like a sexy bronzy eye. Give these Aqua Glitters a shot. A+.

Crème -Vincent Longo - Water Canvas
Charma22 1/3/2007 5:39:00 PM
Wow. It pains me to give this the worst review I've ever given a product, but I have my reasons. First of all, I only wore this for 2 days. I loved the color (Soft Amber #4), it made my skin have this really healthy glow, evened out my complexion, and gave me a flawless no makeup look. Now during day one I was experiencing 5 breakouts around my lipline, so I was thinking that my new lipstick caused this and discontinued the lipstick use after the first day. Then on to day two with the foundation, throughout the day, I ended it w/ over 15 zits not only on my lipline, but all around my month, near my nose, the corners of my mouth, and a few on my forehead. This has been the absolutely worst foundation for my skin ever. The grossest thing about this, was that it just didn't give me little red zits, but (sorry if this is TMI), every zit was a whitehead!!!!! SUPER GROSS! And they hurt like hell, so I'm guessing it gave me cystic acne! It is oil free and even though it was super expensive, I loved how it made my skin look, that is, until the end of the day when I saw what it did. One day, I would love to try this again, maybe next year I'll give it another go b/c it was beautiful. Update: 1/6/06.....my face is still a big pizza face mess :(. My on a strict acne regiment which is not helping :(. I have 4 huge cystic zits on my forehead and the ones around my mouth line are slowly going away. I have a feeling that these are going to be scars.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Surprise
Charma22 12/28/2006 8:25:00 PM
I love this color a lot. This is actually very similiar to Nars Kiss l/s, except that Clinique's is more "greasy." Clinique's color also needs to be buildable b/c it's a part of their Different L/S line. The color is a bronzy brown w/ a hint of purple. I like to use this w/ their Rootbeer quickliner, which is also similiar to Nars Spicy l/l. The color and the price are good, but i enjoy Nars semi-matte l/s in Kiss better b/c of the wear and the coverage. But, if you like more of a light texture on the lips that has a slight shine, then give this a go.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush in INNOCENT PEACH
Charma22 12/28/2006 8:19:00 PM
This color is a part of Clinique's new Blushing Blushes. I found this blush at Duty Free at LAX. This color is a georgeous light peach color w/ just a hint of shimmer. Kind of like Clinique's Soft Pressed Powder Blusher in Honeyblush, but Innocent Peach has less pink. It looks very natural on. I read somewhere that most people blush naturally with a hint of peach. And this color is just that.

Liquid -Clinique - Derma White Liquid Foundation SPF 15
Charma22 12/28/2006 8:14:00 PM
This is actually a really great foundation. At first it looks way too sheer since it comes out kinda watery. But once you apply it to the skin, you notice that this stuff really covers---more like moderate. The bottle is similiar to Clinique's Superfit w/ the plastic bottle that has the tip applicator. I shake it first to mix the liquid and then squeeze out a tiny amount on the back of my hand before applying it to my face. I was actually shocked at how much coverage this stuff gives, b/c it comes out, like i said, looking like it's going to be sheer. The spf is an added bonus. Even though I have super oily skin, this foundation wears really well on my skin. It's marketed for all skin types, and definately oily skins will like this as well. It's oil free. This is a part of Clinique's Whitening Line-Derma White. It retails for about $32. I use shade 06, which looks like it would be too light, but it's a pretty good match for me. I am a moderately fair olive girl.

Treatments -Clinique - Turnaround Concentrate [DISCONTINUED]
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:51:00 PM
I decided to start a new category since everyone is combining the new serum w/ the older creams and they are two different products. So first of all, what makes the new concentrate better is that it's first in serum form (which the cream was supposed to be treated like a serum anyway), and it works twice as fast as the original, and it can actually target where you are dry so that those areas can be exfoliated faster. This still has a great silky smooth feel. Turnaround is supposed to speed up the cell renewal process on the skin so that your skin cells are turning over at a faster continuous rate, which then results in skin that's brighter, softer and smoother. You use turnaround concentrate twice a day, every day. I have fit it into my routine after a whitening serum I use, and then I use my day and night cream on top of the Turnaround. This stuff has helps w/ lightening up and making disappear my deep acne scars (however, it does take time, so be patient, some scars have taken over 4 months to disappear). This also helps w/ fine lines since it helps to exfoliate. This is slightly pricy at $36.50 for a 1 oz. bottle w/ pump (very hygenic). But considering I've paid $62 for foundation, $47.50 for moisturizer, etc, the price doesn't seem too steep anymore. A bottle lasts me about 2 months, which is pretty good. Definately give this a try. My skin has never looked better.

Powder -Clinique - Superpowder Double Face Makeup
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:41:00 PM
Even though I've moved past the realm of this powder, there are some really great things about it. First of all, the colors are pretty good (even though I do prefer the Stay Matte Sheers--specifically Stay Golden). In this powder I used Matte Medium, which was when I was about an NC 35ish. It was a neutral medium beige color. This powder is silky smooth, and has a slightly creamy finish. Now, this powder does have mineral oil listed, which is probably why for many years I never tried it, but then gave it a shot anyway. Well, it has never broken me out. And if you look at readings about mineral oil, they say that it is not problematic for acne prone skin. Luckily for me, this proved true. This gives sheer to moderate coverage, which i liked. However, the only reason why I moved on from this one is b/c I needed one to control oil and one that had a longer wear time on my skin. Clinique is slowly going away from the dark marble green and moving to a lighter green compact, so that's an improvement, however, I'd prefer that they move completely away from the green theme. So, this powder would be perfect for those w/ normal to dry skin that want a little cushion for their skin and don't mind slightly more coverage in their powder.

Lipstick -Clinique - Color Surge Bare Brilliance in Pink Beach
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:35:00 PM
Pink Peach is a super sheer pink l/s w/ a hint of silver shimmer. Not quite my favorite. It was way too natural for me, plus b/c it was the bare brilliance formula, the color only lasted maybe 5 minutes on my lips. Maybe, that's why I didn't like it b/c I prefer l/s w/ some staying power (Clinique Colour Surge regular line). I gave this l/s a shot b/c of the reviews here. The good qualities about this l/s are that for someone who hates l/s or color on the lips, would probably love this since it has a really light feel with just a touch of color, and there is shea butter in this, which gives it a slightly moist/slick feeling.

Lip Liners -Clinique - Quickliner - Cocoa Peach
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:31:00 PM
This was my very first Clinique l/l that I purchased 3 years ago to go along w/ my very first Clinique l/s, Peach Pop. This lipliner is a medium toned peach color w/ a hint of red. These l/l are easy to use, they are automatic, always creamy, you never have to tug or pull on your lips to get color out. And the wear of the lipliners on the lips is very good as well. Priced at only $13.50.
