Polishes -OPI - Girls Love Pink
Cat1104 5/19/2006 5:13:00 PM
Girls Love Pink! is a shimmery mid-tone pink with silver micro-glitter. It's surprisingly opaque with two coats since it does look somewhat sheer in the bottle. Because one coat is sheer, it's great for layering over other polishes to add a little sparkle. I love it and will definitely pick up second bottle as I can see myself reaching for this a lot this summer.

Polishes -Nicole - Fanatical Fuchsia
Cat1104 5/4/2006 7:05:00 PM
I love, love, LOVE this shade. It's fuchsia with an intense flash of blue shimmer. I cannot stop staring at my nails. It very flattering against my cool-toned PPP skin. If you can get your hands on this hot shade, do it! It's perfect for summer toes and on tips if you're feeling bold.

Polishes -OPI - Day at the Peach
Cat1104 12/10/2005 9:24:00 PM
Day at the Peach is a warm, coppery peachy-pink with prismatic shimmer. It's truly gorgeous in the sunlight when the shimmer pops, flashing the colors of a rainbow. This barely works for my skintone (cool/neutral), so if you're extrememly cool-toned, this probably won't compliment your skintone well. If it works for you, it's perfect for fun, summery tips and toes!

Polishes -OPI - Joyful Toy-ful Red
Cat1104 12/10/2005 5:57:00 PM
This is a slightly frosty (red frost) pinkish red with gold/blue shimmer in the bottle, but it has a slight orange undertone on me (cool-toned PPP). The blue shimmer is only noticeable to my eye in the sunlight though. Indoors the shimmer looks red on red with hints of gold. Also, as Shanghaisweetie mentioned below, this has a somewhat foil-like finish that I'm not crazy about; I think it looks better with an ultra glossy top coat. Overall, I really like it. It's festive, so it's perfect for the holidays.

Polishes -Essie - Sequin Sash
Cat1104 11/19/2005 8:18:00 PM
This is absolutely beautiful in the bottle. It's a frosty, bronzy beige with silver glitter. The downside is that it's *very* sheer and gives my nails a yellow sheen that is not very flattering on me (cool-toned PPP). Since the glitter in this is somewhat sparse, it looks like tiny drops of water all over my nails which I'm not fond of. I'll try layering this over other colors to see if I can get favorable results, but so far I'm not happy with it and won't buy it again.

Polishes -Essie - Thigh High
Cat1104 11/14/2005 9:52:00 AM
In the bottle this is a deep ruby red with a lot of shimmer/frost. However, on my nails it looks like a creme unless I'm looking at it in the sunlight or bright lights. It's a pretty red overall, but I wish it had more shimmer on my nails.

Polishes -OPI - Grand Central Carnation
Cat1104 11/4/2005 12:09:00 PM
Grand Central Carnation is a medium, reddish pink rose with silver shimmer and violet micro-shimmer (to my eye the violet micro-shimmer is only visible in bright sunlight). This shade really comes to life in the sunlight, where the shimmer sparkles/flashes silver and violet. It's nothing over-the-top or garish though. This is a very pretty color that's suitable for any season.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms in Blush Diamond
Cat1104 11/1/2005 11:05:00 AM

Wow! This is such a fun color. It's a light to medium pink with the same color frost and prominent, prismatic silver micro-shimmer. In dim indoor lighting, it just looks light pink. Under bright lights/sunlight the silver shimmer flashes all the colors of the rainbow! I find that one coat is somewhat sheer and two coats is almost opaque. Also, one coat of this is great for layering over other colors. If you like any of the shades from OPI's It's Summer for Shore collection, definitely give this one a try.

Polishes -Essie - Burma Ruby
Cat1104 10/28/2005 11:08:00 AM
This red is luscious! Depending on how many coats are applied, Burma Ruby is a medium to dark ruby red with a lot of gold shimmer, not as intense as in the bottle though. The red in this looks somewhat cool-toned on my nails (it looks warm in the bottle though), but the gold shimmer warms it up enough so that overall color looks neutral.

Polishes -OPI - Marooned on the Magnificent Mile
Cat1104 10/27/2005 8:43:00 PM
Marooned on the Magnificent Mile is a dark plummy red creme, not so dark that it looks black. On my nails this looks similar to what Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ looks like in the bottle but a smidge plummier. It's shiny and seductive; I can't stop looking at my nails when I have it on. This gorgeous maroon has become one of my favorites for fall and winter. I'd give it six lippies if I could!

Polishes -OPI - The Grape Lakes

On me this is a dusty purple with silvery lavender frost. It does look kind of brown indoors though. It's an elegant color for the right person.

Polishes -OPI - Mrs O'Learys BBQ
Cat1104 10/11/2005 1:19:00 PM
On me Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ is a very dark plum burgundy creme that's tinged with blackened red. To me it looks almost identical to A Man in Every Port-ugal, except that it has a slightly stonger plum undercurrent and no blue flash. It's a great color for fall and winter, but it's nothing unique in my opinion.

Polishes -Essie - Foot Loose
Cat1104 10/9/2005 8:10:00 PM
This is a cool-toned, bright raspberry-pink creme. In the bottle it's similar to OPI's All that Razz-berry. On me Foot Loose just "pops" more than All that Razz-berry. Although this is from Essie's 2005 Fall Collection, I think it's suitable to wear during the spring/summer months as well.

Polishes -OPI - Black Magic Mountain
Cat1104 10/9/2005 7:51:00 PM
This color is very pretty but is way overhyped in my opinion. On me it's a dark wine/plummy color tinged with black cherry and bronze shimmer. It's not as blackened as I thought it'd be with two coats, but that's a good thing because I'm not a fan of shades that look black. Three coats is super duper dark though. I got this from a sweet MUA-er, but I'd definitely get another bottle if I could find one.

Polishes -Essie - Poor Lil Rich Girl
Cat1104 10/5/2005 11:14:00 PM
This is very similar to OPI's Malaga Wine. It's a deep, cool-toned red creme. Since I already have a handful of colors like Poor L'il Rich Girl, I won't buy this again. I do like the color though.
