My ex boyfriend bought me this product about 5 years ago and the bottle still smells great. I do like the smell, I usually prefer fruity smells and tropical fragrances like Escada, but this one is a little more mature for me ( I am only 28!) but I do enjoy the scent when going out at night.
Makeup Brushes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Bent Brush
BeautyFiend1976 3/24/2005 12:03:00 AM
Well, I have to disagree with most people here about this brush. I do really like to use this brush, which has been re-designed this past year. The handle was shortened so that it won't click on the mirror and you get better control. I use the Benefit "BabeCakes" with this brush and it goes on great. I've never had a problem with it flaring out, I take care of it and store it away in it's plastic snap case that it comes with. The hairs are braided and glued so that it doesn't shed.
This brush is great for the smokey eye. I use it to darken my crease with pigments or pressed powder shadows, line my eyes, and sometimes to highlight my brow bone. It works great and blends everything well. I still need to use a fluffy crease brush after using this brush to diffuse color. I would like to see one a bit bigger too.
This is one of my HG shampoo & Conditioners! I normally use Pureology (the best for color-treated hair) but in-between shampoos, I treat myself to the Nourishing line of So Sexy hair products. The smell is based on the Body By Victoria fragrance, it smells so clean and fresh! Your hair will smell great! It cleanses really well, lathers up, and gets the job done. My hair always feel very soft after using this! My scalp is oily and I have damaged color treated hair and this works pretty good on me. The price is great, considering I normally pay over $20 for my Pureology shampoo. I gave it a four star rating because it does strip my hair color out.
HOLY GRAIL! I went to the B.E. store in Berkeley yesterday and found the best lipstick ever! The color is "Romance" and it's so gorgeous! The texture of these lipsticks are like a gloss, not sticky, very smooth and the color is fantastic. I am a usual MAC lipstick person, but these are way better! They contain Vitamin E, which you can totally feel on your lips. The color is a peach/pink creme with a very, very slight shimmer. I think that I will stick with this brand for lipstick for a long time!
Lip Gloss -Guerlain - Meteorites Lipgloss (multicolored)
BeautyFiend1976 3/16/2005 7:31:00 PM
I think the color of this gloss is Violet Aerien Number 36? It says Meteorites on the label sticker and I received this in a swap. It's def. a violet color with an opal/blue iridescent glaze to it. The tube is a fat little thing with a gold wand, floral design on top of the wand and this spinning pearl plastic thing that looks like a Barbie necklace. I wasn't too impressed with the packaging, I thought it looked like a cheap brand trying to look expensive. The gloss itself is pretty, but not mind-blowing impressive, it's got a weird smell, but better than most glosses smell! I can't explain the smell, sweet with a hint of melon? Not sticky, I prefer mine a little thicker than this. I would not buy again because I think that I would rather spend an extra 6 bucks to get a Chanel Glossimer.
I've been using temp. hair colors for about 10 years now, and I have to say, Jerome Russell is the king of the rainbow hair colors! Manic Panic has a beautiful color range, but they tend too bleed on your skin and stain your pillow. Esp. when going to the gym, I sweat pink! Punky Colors smells good, isn't runny, and never stains my clothes, pillow, or face! I give it a four, because some of the colors are either too dark or too light. I have to do a lot of mixing with this prodcut, but it still works out great. I leave my dye in for about 5-6 hours, using occasional heat from my blow dryer, or sleeping with the color in my hair with a plastic cap. Color stays for about a month or more.
Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
BeautyFiend1976 3/12/2005 12:26:00 AM
DISAPPOINTING! I talked to several women who used La Mer regularly and they had awesome skin. I hear about the celebrities who use it and how great their skin looks. I have oily skin that breaks out with the use of SPF in liquid form. I used La Mer for a week and I developed cystic acne on my cheeks. Huge boil-like cysts that seem to want to stay there and not heal up. I felt like crying because I couldn't wait to try it and it ruined my face. The sales associate at the La Mer counter gave me samples of the cleansing gel and serums, and those seemed to be okay, but the moisturizer is so greasy. It smells like something my mother used to put on her face to take her makeup off. The algae in it seems to be an ingredient that causes acne. I can't find a moisturizer I like.. I will keep trying. NOTE: I gave it two stars because although it broke me out, my pores seemed to be totally smaller, almost gone. That was a good thing, but not with all the huge cysts growing all over the place.
Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - She Laq ] [DISCONTINUED]
BeautyFiend1976 3/1/2005 6:11:00 AM
This is my holy grail of all the grails I own. hahah! I have light brow hairs, I actually despise the shape that they are, so I use either Benefit brow zing in #4 or MAC Sketch eyeshadow to create the shape I want. I darken them in to almost black to match my hair. If I didn't use this sealant, my brows would be gone by 4 pm. I would have an embarassing mess all over my face because it's oily and tends to push makeup all over the place. The sealant, when used very sparingly, can save your makeup and have it last until it's time for bed. I apply a VERY thin amount to my brows, lashes and eyeliner. I use it to line my eyes with craft store glitter. I don't care about cheaper versions of this, I like the Benefit version and I am sticking to it. Lasts me two years for $24 dollars.
Charlize Theron wore this mascara to the Oscars last year, and it was voted the best mascara on Sephora.com in 2004, also, it was the best selling mascara over Lancome's Definicils... WHY?? Because it's Benefit and it ROCKS!!! No clump, silky formula in dark black. Huge tube and brush! Curl, length and thicker lashes. Sorry to those who didn't like it, you missed out!
Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hollywood Glo [DISCONTINUED]
BeautyFiend1976 3/1/2005 5:59:00 AM
First, to those bashing Benefit products below, take a look at my photo gallery. I always get massive compliments on my makeup, and it's those Benefit FAKE-IT's that I give ALL the credit to.. without them, I would look like Courtney Love after an all night boozin party. I won't even list all of the products that I love.. yet.. but I've tried Hollywood glo, and it's probably the most natural light bronze highlighter I've seen. I used the Benefit foundation brush to PAT it on over my POWDER and it looked FINE. I have oily skin, so I used very little of it and it worked out fabulously. If you pat it on your eyes and dab some on the lips, it's an instant J.Lo nude look, fast and easy to do, especially for those that have no idea how to use makeup. (or for people that think they know)
This is the ULTIMATE shower cap! I can't wash my hair everyday because it's pink and the color will fade fast if I wash it too much. I have used shower caps my whole life and always bought the ones at K-mart for 99 cents. My hair always got wet in the back.. no matter what. My relaxing shower experience would be totally ruined by the pounding of water droplets on my vinyl cheap shower cap. Ugh. So, when I saw the new Bathina shower cap with the satin cover, I was in love. I love this thing and my hair never gets wet in the back anymore. No more pounding waterdroplet noises. AHHH.. relax.
This is the PURRFECT bag for a make up junkie like me! It holds 6 lip/eye pencils or brushes and all of my cosmetics to use for the day. I take it with me when I go to my boyfriend's house for the weekend or on trips to grandma's! It's sturdy and strong, very unique design on front.. well, it IS Gabbi, she's hotter in person though. =)
Lips -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers in Champagne
BeautyFiend1976 3/1/2005 5:34:00 AM
Ohh.. this tingles! I got this in a recent swap and I am addicted to the feeling it gives to my lips! It's got a slight pink shimmer in it with a luscious peppermint smell right when you open up the lid. It's all natural with beeswax, sunflower oil, peppermint oil, and rosemary extract. I think it may plump the lips a little bit too, at least it feels like it's doing something!
Lip Liners -Giorgio Armani - Smooth Silk Lip Pencil #9
BeautyFiend1976 2/28/2005 8:55:00 PM
Very creamy and smooth, I love this lip liner. The best I've tried, but I haven't tried a lot of high end lip liners, usually drug store ones end up in my purse. It's a dusty rose matte color that blends flawlessly into the lip line to create fuller lips. I love to use this alone with a clear or tinted gloss for a more natural lip. Give it a try, you will really love these lip liners!
