Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30

It was really hard to rate this product being such a Clarins fan. I am really surprised at how highly rated this product is to be honest! I use their SPF40 face sunscreen which is amazing and I am currently also using this product, but only because I don't want to throw it away. I figure I might as well finish the tube. I guess if you are just after sun protection, it probably is worth the money, but plenty of products can do that. This is a thick, expensive eye cream that just seems to make no difference at all to the eye contour. I was excited about the product as I have used the regular eye balm for years and love it. This is a major disappointment.
Foundations -Cover Girl - TruBlend MINERAL powder foundation
BBrazilian 8/7/2010 1:10:00 AM
I am one of those people who will only buy expensive skincare because I find that the low end products are usually garbage, but when it comes to makeup, I really love Covergirl products. I really like this foundation. Generally I HATE mineral powder foundations with a passion having tried loads of them. I have also tried loads of non mineral powder foundations. My problem is that they always irritate my skin and just look terrible. I chose the Covergirl in Ivory and expected a similar result. How wrong I was! It felt comfortable all day. It stayed matte. It gave me medium coverage that looked smooth. I applied it over my Clarins SPF40 sunscreen using a better brush than what was supplied with the product. I really like this foundation and have been using it every day since I purchased it. So far, it has not irritated me at all. We are in Winter in Australia at the moment, it will be interesting to see if it remains matte during our harsh Aussie summer! Edited 20/08/10: Even though I still like the coverage and it feels OK on the skin, it has broken me out. Very few products cause my skin to break out and once they do, they continue to do so. Unfortunately I will have to stop using this product. That is the end of my experimentation with all powder foundation products! Full Stop!
Primer/ Corrector -Maybelline - Maybelline Coverstick Corrector Concealer

First let me explain how I apply this product. I use a damp sea sponge(very well squeezed) to apply it. I draw the product under my eyes like a crayon and also put a small amount on my lids as a base for my eye shadow. I blend it in light sweeping motions with the damp sea sponge until it completely blended in and then I apply it to other areas that may need some concealer. I use a sea sponge because I don't like to upset the delicate eye area too much, particularly when I use a stick concealer. I really like this concealer. It does exactly what it says. It removes dark shadows and it gives a lovely natural finish provided you apply it properly. Great value for money and much better than some of the more expensive concealers on the market.
I am really divided on this lipstick. I really like the colour and it does feel nice on my lips for a long lasting lipstick. However, if you need to reapply it (and in my case, that is after about 6 hour) it looks cakey. It does not stay on very well after eating, especially if the food has oil or grease in it. If you do need to reapply this lipstick, you would need to completely remove it and start again. It goes on very creamy and it does not feel dry when it sets. I would repurchase because it is a genuine nude colour that suits a blue eyed blond like me. It has a pinkish tone to it.
Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]

I have just started using this product. Prior to this I was using a moisturising concealer by Revlon which did not moisturise at all!!!!!. So far, I am very impressed with this product. The texture is really nice and I find that is goes on very smoothly and is easy to work with. I don't usually have much luck using my fingertips to apply concealer under the eye using tapping motions, but I can do that with this concealer and almost completely blend it in. That says a lot about how pliable it is! I am using the lightest colour in the range and it works wonderfully for my skin tones. You only need the tiniest amount of product for maximum results. I use much less of this than any other concealer I have ever used. Very happy.
Primer/ Corrector -Natio - Ageless Illuminating Primer

I purchased this product recently because I was using a moisturiser under my makeup and it was leaving my skin too shiny. I was impressed by the reviews of this product and I was also happy with the price, so gave it a go. This is a lovely primer. My skin looks just right - not matte, not shiny. My makeup goes on really evenly over it - what more could you ask for really! I am not always happy with the quality of Natio products, but this one is first rate!
Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme

This product works every bit as good as the super expensive products and is a fraction of the price! I have used this for a long time now and it never breaks me out or causes reactions. This is a fantastic moisturiser!!!!!
I think that CG mascaras are better than the higher priced mascaras on the market and this particular mascara is my HG. It never runs or flakes and it makes your lashes look amazing. I have been using it for a while now and I can't see myself ever changing. This is great value for money!
I was using Loreal prior to trying this product. I wouldn't say that this is a better product than the Loreal, but for the price it is OK. It is not the easiest liner to apply because the tip does not have too much give in it, but once you master it, the result is really good and the colour stays put all day. I use the black. The size is fairly small and I have not had any problems with leakage like some of the other people here have reported. I think this is a value for money product that takes a little bit of getting used to. Overall I like it and I would buy it again.
I ADORE this product! My hair has been bleached withing an inch of its life and terax makes it look and feel gorgeous. I am yet to find anything that even gets close to it!It is very expensive, but entirely worth it IMO.
Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Special Eye Contour Balm
BBrazilian 5/6/2010 5:40:00 AM
It's interesting to note that the regular eye balm by Clarins is my HG eye cream, but the "special" version is simply nowhere near as good. When I wake up in the morning after using this product, my eyes feel like they are sticking together and I do not get that with the regular Clarins eye balm. I also did not feel that tis product worked anywhere near as well in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I did not even bother to finish it and returned to the regular eye balm.
This is my HG. I have been using this product for years and keep returning to it. I am really surprised by the negative comments about it because it is the ONLY eye care product that I have found that actually reduces the appearance of wrinkles. I also like the fact that when I apply it before bed, I wake up without that terrible feeling of my eyes being sticky with product like you get with some eye creams. I sometimes mix this with my concealer if I have had a late night and it really gives my appearance a boost. I just love it!!!!!!
I probably should have written my review here first rather than done each product individually. I usually use Clarins and Gatineau products for my skincare and wanted a change as the Clinique products are a bit cheaper and the brand has a good reputation (or so I thought). I used the mild soap, mild clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisturising lotion for dry skin. The reaction was almost immediate and it wasn't good. My cheeks were red and felt hot during the day. I had little pimply lumps and welts on my cheeks that needed to be covered by concealer. I tried the products for a month before resuming my previous regime of Clarins and Gatineau products. I think the Clinique was just too harsh and I cannot understand how that could have happened when I was using the "mild" products.
You hear so much about this product - models use it, etc, etc, etc.....so I had really high expectations. This mascara is terrible. I had panda eyes from it after a few hours. It clumps really badly and it just is not very good at all.
I liked the fact that this product was convenient and reasonable cheap as I was already using a foaming cleanser by Gatineau and wanted a change. However, after trying this soap for a month, my skin looked and felt terrible with visible welts on both cheeks that needed to be covered with concealer. I am normally clear skinned and quite pale, so it was embarrassing and disappointing.
