Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
ArizonaAngel 7/20/2012 12:12:00 AM
This is good for a toning shampoo in that it helps rid the hair of brassiness, but not great. There are better ones out there that are a bit more expensive, but this does work. It is drying, but most toning shampoos are a bit drying, But there are two things about this one will make me never buy this again: One is the scent. It is terrible. It's heavy, cloying, chemically and just indescribable. And most of the perfumes I like are heavy and on the masculine/so called "old lady" side ~ but this is just awful to me personally. I can't handle it. The other is that something in it broke out my back and chest like crazy. And it's summer!! And I am in my thirties! Completely intolerable. So wearing a tank top was embarrassing. Once I stopped it it cleared up thank goodness...but it caused me some uncomfortable moments. So I won't buy this again ever.

Makeup Brushes -Philosophy - The Supernatural Brush
ArizonaAngel 7/8/2012 11:29:00 PM
I completely forgot that I had bought this brush! I think I bought it more than a year ago. Recently I pulled it out try try with a liquid foundation because my Sephora #55 was wet (just washed it) and I was shocked at how beautiful it applied my foundation. I like it AS much, maybe even more than the #55. The one drawback is that it has a smaller head so it will take a bit longer to apply make up - but other than that the finish it leaves is well worth the extra minute or two. It's soft, dense and not streaky. It also works well for concealer. Sorry I didn't pull this out of my stash sooner!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Clear Scalp and Hair Therapy for Damaged and Color Treated Hair
ArizonaAngel 7/8/2012 10:28:00 PM
Update: Someone else had said that they had had hair loss after using this. Now I'm not saying it is related at all, however at the same time I experienced some hair loss as well. To the point I went and had my thyroid checked, etc. Everything was fine but I was (and still am) going through a stressful period in my life. The hair loss has stopped, thank goodness, but I just wanted it to be known. Again, I'm not positive it was due to this at all and I will keep my rating at three. Original Review: I love the smell and the packaging! I have the conditioner for Color Treated Hair. I have used this on and off for a couple of weeks and it does make my hair very soft and shiny - however it weighs my fine, long blonde hair down like crazy. I will use it up on days I just put my hair in a bun or ponytail but I won't buy this again.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant
ArizonaAngel 7/6/2012 11:25:00 PM
My skin did not love this. I bought this to help clear up a few clogged pores and for some reason it seemed to make my skin worse. I didn't mind the sticky texture as it sunk in after a few minutes. It also seemed to work so well at first and then I got a bunch of little bumps under my skin. So I discontinued it. PC has a great return policy so if you think it may work for you maybe give it a shot.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Neaclear Liquid Oxygen Acne Wash (with Salicylic Acid)
ArizonaAngel 7/6/2012 11:19:00 PM
My usually normal skin has been weird lately with the warm weather and I have been noticing more clogged pores, etc. I usually don't break out very often but for some reason this summer has been rough on my skin. I used to use the basic Neutrogena Acne Wash, which worked but was so drying. I picked this up at Ulta for under ten bucks (I can't recall the actual price sorry!) and I actually noticed results in a week. No more clogged pores, no super oily skin and no blackheads - very happy! It also doesn't dry out my skin. The scent reminds me of something ~ it is fresh, not at all strong. It feels tingly on and rinses well. I like to use this with my Mia actually. Definitely going to buy this as long as I need to - and maybe always have a bottle on hand just in case.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
ArizonaAngel 6/6/2012 10:56:00 PM
I am loving this! I adore long lasting foundations, as I am busy with family and work and I hate having to constantly touch up my make up. I have tried the original Colorstay and honestly I didn't love it. I have normal to dry skin and it felt masky and dried my skin out. I liked the Colorstay Active Light but that has been discontinued a while now. So I bought this thinking if it was awful I could return it. I got the color 250 Medium Beige which has been my typical color in the other CS foundations. I am NW30-35, leaning neutral and the color is good, a neutral coolish shade. Not orange or super pink. The texture is light and creamy and it blends well. I used my Sephora #55 brush. Looked pretty flawless on with a primer and a bit of powder (I always use setting powder). Not 100% matte but not flat either. I went and did some gardening and had a work out and some errands and it stayed put eleven hours later, only needing a blot here and there. It felt moisturizing too, unlike the original CS which dried me out and made me look older and just tired. I would say that it looks to be about medium coverage for me (for full coverage I love my Clarins Everlasting!). I like the packaging. It's heavy and kind of elegant. I don't keep it in my purse so it is perfect for me. And jar packaging for a foundation is not a problem for me. I would buy this again - it stays on and looks like a HE foundation at a fraction of the price. I can be a make up snob sometimes but this is just a wonderful foundation.

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - High Shimmer Lip Gloss (all)
ArizonaAngel 5/22/2012 10:40:00 PM
Love these! I have three and will definitely buy more if I find shades I like. I currently have Bellini (peachy pink), Pastel (medium pink) and Pink Tulle (light pink). All of them obviously have lots of shimmer. They are sheer (which I like), slightly tacky (which I also like) and minty (which is fun). I love that BB finally got rid of the obnoxious brush applicators for the much easier doe-footed ones. Also they are bigger. They aren't cheap but the shades are gorgeous, they last a few hours on and the glitter isn't too much even for someone over 35. They aren't gritty or grainy at all like some glosses with shimmer and/or glitter and it doesn't dry my lips out. Will buy again!

Fragrances -Chanel - Jersey

Gorgeous scent on me for spring/summer - but really expensive. The softness reminded me of Prada Infusion d'Iris (which is my go to daytime scent pretty much year round), and for some reason on me it is similar (even though the notes are completely different). However this just is sexy, warm-ish, comfy and amazing. I wanted something for the warmer months that I could feel okay wearing day and night and this is it. I love the lavender and the musks and the vanilla. Men and women love it alike but most of all I adore it. I will buy this again.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Sunlight Sparkle Eye Shadow
ArizonaAngel 5/6/2012 12:25:00 AM
Love this. This isn't a mess of glitter, it can be sheer enough for just a hint of sparkle on your lids or packed on for a bit more intensity. On my lids it gives me a gold, sparkling wash but it is completely age appropriate - even okay for day wear IMO. On me, under a eye primer, this lasted from noon until 9PM with zero fall out, fade or creasing. This isn't super pigmented, which is fine with me. It just adds a bit of something, maybe sexiness to my eye make up that looks effortless and subtle - but noticeable. This is LE but I will get a back up if possible.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
ArizonaAngel 5/5/2012 11:20:00 PM
This allergy season has left me with the worst under-eye circles I have ever had, especially under my left eye for some weird reason. And it has been depressing. So I decided to try this. I got Peach, and I am a NW-30-NW35. It works amazingly well. I apply it, blend it, put my regular concealer over it (Dream Lumi currently for under-eye) and set it with a bit of powder and it looks like I don't have any under-eye circles at all. It will crease if not set with powder and it can look pretty cakey and dry of you do not moisturize. Also I believe a color match is key as well and there are a lot of shades to choose from. With all of that in mind this can be a great product for those in need of it. I will buy again.

Top/Base Coats -Essie - All in One Base
ArizonaAngel 4/28/2012 12:43:00 AM
To be fair, I bought this kind of by accident. I didn't read the part that said "For Normal Nails", I don't consider my nails normal by any means as I have one that tends to get "peely" and the others just aren't where I want them to be. I got this at Walgreens for 8 bucks and decided to give it a shot. My usual base treatments seem to be letting me down so I wanted to get something else and I got this. I used this alone for a week, reapplying every day. I got mixed results. As far as it being a treatment, I didn't care for it. I took it off and had two more peely nails, ones that have never been that way. Also my cuticles were dry as a desert and I had a hangnail - which I haven't had in literal years. As a basecoat this was great though. My polish stayed on like nothing else. And it was a polish by a different company. But all in all...I need something more for my tips. However I will use this up on my toes. I won't buy again.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch
ArizonaAngel 4/22/2012 11:23:00 PM
Loving this! I bought this in Beige because lately my allergies have been awful, and because of that my undereye circles are a nightmare to cover. I found myself layering a ton of concealer under my eyes which turned out to look cakey and heavy. The color is spot on for my NW35ish skin tone. It is creamy and pigmented. I swipe it on and pat it to cover and that's it. Some days my eyes look worse than usual and I will layer another concealer underneath and put this one over it and it looks amazing ~ not cakey at all and my circles are gone. Lasts until I remove my make up. I admit that I can be a make-up snob sometimes but this has really turned me around a bit. My only gripe is that I really don't like clicky pens, I don't know why. But in spite of that this still deserves a 5 star rating to me. I will definitely buy again.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Invisible Fluid Makeup
ArizonaAngel 4/20/2012 10:55:00 PM
I decided to get a sample of this at my local counter because I was at Macy's and figured why not. I didn't think it would be enough coverage from what I had heard about it but I want something lighter for the upcoming summer months. I was matched closest to 3CN1 and was also given a sample of 3WN1 to mix with as the cool shade looked super pink on my neutral-cool NW30 skintone. I mixed the two (I didn't shake it as the SA told me I didn't have too, not sure if that is true or not though) and applied it over primer and I loved the coverage. It isn't super light, on me it looked light-medium. I still had to cover my melasma spot and undereye, but everything else looked even and radiant. The finish was close to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua ~ glowy, natural, definitely not flat but not greasy. However the main difference between the two was the lasting power - VA lasted only a few hours on my skin while this lasted over 8 hours with a touch up here and there. It felt light on my skin and didn't make me greasy, it didn't slide off all of a sudden and it looked natural without being "too natural" (meaning like a tinted moisturizer). My one gripe is the fact that there isn't a genuine neutral shade though. I am actually thinking the 3WN1 is closer to neutral on me than the cool one, the shades are forgiving but the 3CN1 is really pink to me. I hope I do not have to buy two bottles as $70 for foundation is just too much. So I am on the fence right now a bit! Frustrating, as it is a wonderful foundation.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Tan
ArizonaAngel 4/19/2012 12:25:00 AM
Sexy, shimmering, bronzey-pinkish neutral color. I love this for a wash on my lids in spring and summer, or whenever I feel like it. I am not big on a ton of eye make up and this fits the bill - a sheer wash over an eye primer gives me a sultry eye look that compliments my eye color and skin tone. Easy and it looks amazing on. I could see this being a must have for anyone - definitely will buy again.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole Ultra 24h
ArizonaAngel 4/19/2012 12:17:00 AM
I am a sucker for no-fuss, long wearing foundation so I went to my local counter and got a large sample to try, I was matched to Bisque 260 and the color looked okay, however I tried to make it work many times and I was disappointed. My skin leans dry in the winter but is pretty normal in the spring and this looked just awful no matter how I applied it. I tried heavier moisturizer, a different primer, a lighter moisturizer, no powder to set, different application techniques ~ the end result was just not pretty on my skin. It just looked like it sat on top of my skin like a cakey, masky mess. It also seemed to make me look older and sink into all those little lines I didn't even know I had. I ended up removing this within hours of each application. Not for me.
