Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

All the fashion mags tout this as a must-have mascara, but I found it was clumpy, gunky and very unattractive. I will never buy again without consulting MUA first! As for the hideous green and pink packaging, don't get me started!

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - Essentials Thickening Mascara

An OK mascara, but nothing to get excited about. Tended to get a bit gluggy. There are better mascaras out there for a better price.

Mascara -Kiss Me - Kiss Me Mascara

Loved the concept behind this. I tend to look like a bit of a panda by the end of the day with most mascaras, but this one keeps me looking fresh faced all day long. If you're wanting big dramatic lashes, this is not the mascara for you. It'll essentially make your lashes look longer and more defined, but if they're already sparse, they'll still look sparse. The big downer for me is the price - very expensive.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Eye Pencils

I'm a big fan of Bobbi Brown, but this eye pencil is nothing to write home about. Just doesn't seem to have the staying power that a gel eyeliner has.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Brown
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:23:00 PM
This has been my first successful foray into liquid eyeliners and I can't imagine going back to pencils now. I use it with a BE eyeliner brush, and I can get great control and have as subtle or as dramatic a line as I like. If you want to wear eyeshadow, put this on afterwards, as this liner will smudge (hence the name) otherwise. I find it doesn't smudge unless I actually play with it, so I'll still have a nice, clean line and it lasts all day. Great for doing a smoky eye where you do want a smudged liner. Have recently also started using this as an eyeshadow - colour seems very strong when you first put it on the lid, but it blends nicely.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Trio - Panorama
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:18:00 PM
The 2 darker colours are great alrounders for a day or night time look. The pale highlighting shade of white is not at all noticeable when I put it on, but the palette is well worth the buy just for the smoky pink and aubergine colours. Good staying power, but not as good as Stila pan shadows. I find it goes on quite sheer in comparison, which is fine if you want a subtle look.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Puppy Eyeshadow
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:13:00 PM
When I first put this on I thought that I had wasted my money as it was barely discernable on my eyelids, but lo and behold, it really helped make my eyes pop and it doesn't even look like I'm wearing makeup. This shade is great on its own blended into the crease for a natural, but groomed look. Goes beautifully with pretty much most Stila shades, which in my book are the best shades on the market for the money. Great staying power.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Lame Pro Eyeshadow

Amazing lasting power with Stila shadows, and this one is no exception. It took me a little while to get used to the shimmer in the shadow (I've only recently started wearing eye shadow on a regular basis), but the more I wear it the more I like.

Brows -Smashbox - Brow tech
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:08:00 PM
I find that this works better for me if I groom my eyes first with the wax, and then use the powder. Otherwise, I find that the powder can smudge when I'm applying the wax afterwards. Just wish that they had less powder and more wax in this pot, as the powder lasts for ages. Have since discovered you can get the wax on its own. The wax helps to make your brows look beautifully groomed and stays in place for a long time.

Brows -Bobbi Brown - Brow Shaper -- Mahogany

A great brow groomer if you don't have sparse eyebrows. It just deepens my natural colour and tidies them to help me look well groomed. Nice and easy to use. Have noticed recently that one of my brows is a bit sparser than the other so have switched to Smashbox's Brow Tech to help fill in the gaps!

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Powder Blush - Sand Pink
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:02:00 PM
A lovely, natural looking blush. I've since discovered the joys of cream blushes, so won't be repurchasing, but this is the best shade of powder blush I have tried.

Blush -Bloom - Sheer Colour Creme in Sunkissed
cosmokid 4/16/2007 11:00:00 PM
A great, cream blush for a casual look. It doesn't last long on my skin, but i find it's great if I just want to get a bit of glow on my cheeks and eyelids to look healthy, but not madeup. I also add a dab to my forehead and chin, and it looks nice and natural. Have just gotten to the bottom of the pot and it's next to impossible to get at the cream in the edges - I hate wastage!

Concealers -Christian Dior - Hydrating Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
cosmokid 4/16/2007 10:57:00 PM
I've found that some concealers can make the skin under my eyes look quite crepey (even though I have no discernable lines around my eyes) and I always moisturise first before applying. This concealer solves that problem. I only need a miniscule drop to cover the circles under my eyes (blends in like a dream just be patting in with a finger) which is easy to dispense with the handy (but unattractive) tube, so this is lasting forever. I was in a bit of a rush today so didn't put concealer on and have had so many people tell me I look tired!

Concealers -Philosophy - Supernatural airbrushed color correctors
cosmokid 4/16/2007 10:51:00 PM
Having the 3 colours to pick from makes this palette a godsend for covering up blemishes and marks. Whether you're tanned or pale or somewhere in between there's a colour to suit any part of your face at any time of the year (I sometimes mix a couple of the colours if needed). I find it goes on better using my fingers than the brush - using the supplied brush it tends to just sit on the skin. This tends to be abit drying on the skin underneath my eyes (hance the 4 lippies) so I stick to Christian Dior's Hydrating Concealer for that use. Packaging is great, as it is with all Philosophy palettes.
