Lotions/ Creams -Dove - Body Silk
BerryDelicious 4/21/2003 4:35:00 AM
Beautiful! Leaves my skin so silky soft and like the other MUAers say, soaks right in...not greasy at all! The scent is kinda strong baby powdery to me, but fades very quickly. For some reason though, it reminds me of Chanel Allure! But when I put it on to compare, Allure of course, MUCH stronger! All up a brilliant moisturiser and SO worth the money!!

Lip Gloss -Innoxa - Love That Lip Gloss
BerryDelicious 4/13/2003 12:31:00 AM
These smell incredible! I can't stop smelling my lips once I've got it one which probably ruins the visual effect! Anyway, they do indeed feel wonderfully lubricating on, and as for the colour, I got Paisley, which is a sexy sheer darkish cherry red tint. Unfortunately, I have to take one lipstick off because even though the gloss stays on for quite a while, the colour fades after about 20 minutes! BTW, I noticed they have a GORGEOUS softly silver one, VERY similar to Lancome's Star Gloss in Star Light, which they are very similar in texture to, AND they're only $AUD14.95!

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites
BerryDelicious 3/31/2003 10:17:00 PM
These are my fave I think, in the vast Bonne Bell collection…and the yummiest smelling! Gorgeous soft shimmer, shine and colour, great on their own or over lipstick, tho some are a bit too pale, which is why I gave 4 lipsticks - I'd love a touch more pigment to make them stay on a bit longer too! But besides that, the moistness stays for ages! I’ve got Berry ‘Nilla Crème - very pretty shimmery pale mauve but which smells almost yummy sherberty for the first second then develops into what I at first thought to be a yuck cherry medicine smell, but now I’ve gotten used to it. Cool Melon – brightish pink in the tube but a softer pink on my lips, and a lovely melon smell - not too artificial. Capuccino - pale fawn(?) nude colour, smells DEVINE! Just like sweet milky coffee with chocolate on top. Mocha Mousse – kind of a soft plush browny pink – YLBB and yum! And Metallic Mocha – a gorgeous caramelly nude, and a lovely coffee smell…mmmmmmm!

Treatments -Payot - Hydrofluide
BerryDelicious 3/26/2003 6:51:00 AM
I had a facial tonight using Payot products. I had heard of them, but that's about it, not really anything about their products or how they work. She diagnosed my face as deydrated and I'd say she was about right there. She used products to focus on this. Among a few masques and treatments which she used, the one I bought, as she recommended would be the best base thing for me at the moment to hydrate me, was this Hydrofluide (a pretty orangey-pink fluid in a hard plastic pump bottle). It is meant to "illuminate" your face and moisturise by more than 90%. Now I don't like to believe too much hype, but my face really did look illuminiated and felt soft and hydrated WITHOUT feeling greasy! And my BF said I was glowing as soon as he saw me! I looked in the mirror and, dare I say, I looked fresh! I actually went out for dinner with my face just as it was, not a spot of makeup! And on top of this she said it doesn't block pores AND if you use it in the morning it's supposed to improve staying power of makeup! Well, we'll see, and since this was a first time use of their products, and maybe it was all of the products working together, I know that this isn't a fully comprehensive review, so I will update after more use. But all I know is that right now is that my skin feels and looks wonderful after being dehydrated for ages when nothing else was fixing it! At $AUD68 - and she said it lasts about 4-6 months depending on usage - that's not bad!
Sorry to go on, but one more thing, I have been searching the net for the last hour or so looking for reviews on Payot to come up with just about nothing and only one review here! Has anyone else used Payot?
28.06.03 - Yay! wonderkid! More reviews on Payot! I've been meaning to update my review for a while as well & after a couple of queries...
I've been using the Hydrofluide for 3 months now. Still liking it. It's never broken me out or done anything strange to my skin which is a plus. It goes nicely under my makeup too. I'd say it's definitely helped my skin get through the cooler weather, but I still needed something more, as I get a little dehydrated on my cheeks, which was what I got it for intitially, but because it's a serum, I think you still need to use moisturiser over the top of it. So, I got some Paula's Choice Hydrating Cream a few weeks ago and am liking it, it's great for when I'm feeling extra dry. Bottom line; Payot IS expensive, but it does seem to be good quality stuff. I won't go all out buying all their products, but for a specialty product here & there, definitely worth a go! =:)

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes-Cassis
BerryDelicious 3/19/2003 7:52:00 PM
Cassis is SO gorgeous in the tube. Such a beautiful purple and coppery shimmer. But on my lips I can barely see it! It's glossy alright, and gives my lips a full look, but it's practically clear! I was hoping for a bit of purple/gold tint! Besides that, it smells devine...bit grapey and blackcurrant and not too strong and sickly like a few of the Bonne Bell Lip d'Votions I own.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
BerryDelicious 3/19/2003 7:49:00 PM
I relented. I can't believe I did as these are AUD$40 (can get FOUR Lip d'Votions for this price) BUT, they were having one of their amazing free gifts, and after reading all the great reviews on JT's and Star Gloss, I was dying to get them. So I bought JT Cassis and SG Starlight. Cassis is SO gorgeous in the tube. Such a beautiful purple and coppery shimmer. But why, why, oh why don't they have just a little bit more pigment?!?! Maybe my lips are too red, and sure it's glossy, but I can barely see it! If they all were at least a bit closer to the colours they are in the tubes! Besides that, it smells devine...not too strong and sickly like a few of the Bonne Bell Lip d'Votions I own. And over your average lipbalm, glosses do seem to keep my lips the most chap-free, but I can get that result from cheaper versions like d'Votion and Lip Lites and probably a myriad of others! But, then I wouldn't have that smell and the cool packaging and...what a sucker! Anyway, I don't regret buying my Juicy Tube, I just probably won't repurchase again...until I find one that's got more colour and another free gift!

Fragrances -Avon - Little Black Dress
BerryDelicious 3/12/2003 5:15:00 PM
I smelt this in a little tester thingy and loved it - it seemed fresh and sophisticated for evening wear, warm and a touch musky - so I purchased a small bottle. I excitedly put it on my skin and was horrified. This was ugh, just awful on me. I could smell a touch of that musk scent I smelt in the tester, but overall, it was too strong and something in it that just made me feel headachy and weird. Just a personal chemistry thing I guess.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip D'Votion
BerryDelicious 3/12/2003 1:03:00 AM
A great gloss...*very* glossy and shiny. Lasts about an hour then fades quite a bit, but the moistness stays for ages. I've got the strawberry one, which is a very sheer red. On the down side though, it is a bit tricky to get out, you click it and one minute there's nothing there, the next it's all over the place! Plus the smell is not the nicest strawberry smell. Will try a different flavour/colour.

Lipstick -Mirenesse - Vitamin Capsule Refillable Lipstick
BerryDelicious 3/4/2003 9:29:00 PM
Colourwise, I got No. 24-Guntar and 40-Markko (I like how they come up with the names - see the website for descriptions - www.mirenesse.com - Guntar is named after a sexy ski instructor!) On their own, these colours are no good on me. Guntar is a shimmery pink with gold highlights, but I can't see it that much on my on my lips, it does complement them, but maybe I have too much pink in my lips already. Markko is an "iridescent matte mauve", but on my lips is a bit pasty looking. So, to fix these problems, I mix them both together and get a gorgeous mid-petal pink colour! As for feel and staying power, they're very moisturising, which feels good, but unfortunately, they don't stay on my lips long enough for my liking - darker pigments might be better for this. But while it is on, it does look nice, soft and a bit shimmery! Packagewise, they're very elegant and I like the fact that they are refillable and the tube is light to hold and gold in colour. I might try them again, though a darker colour next time!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds
BerryDelicious 2/22/2003 5:40:00 AM
True, they don't stay on brilliantly and they look absolutely NOTHING like in the ad...BUT, they are a bit shimmery and wet looking and definately moisturising. When they do wear off (they have some staying power) they don't go everywhere and leave a little moisture and "diamonds", which is nice. The colours I've got, and the reason why I chose 5 stars, is that I can put them on without a mirror and just smack my lips together (maybe hoping for the best!) Anyway, they're: Gem Crushed Merlot - looks darkish strawberry to me, Jewels 'N' Berries - lovely soft berry, but plenty of colour, Rose Dream (bought in Italy, so not sure what the other name is - maybe Rhinestone pink?), but a pretty soft pink, and Glowing Glimmer, a very pretty, sheer bright, but not too bright Fuscha? on my lips and teamed with Blush/Brush "Pretty Pink", I get that really fresh, pinched cheek "just come in from cold" look. Like them much better than Wet Shine!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Cool Effects Liner/Shadow
BerryDelicious 2/22/2003 4:28:00 AM
These are my fave eye colours, along with CG Smoothers. The colours are beautiful and intense and so easy to put on as they're in pencil form and I prefer that to conventional eye shadow. I love the deep, deep blue of Midnight Chill, the dark plush pink of Sugar Plum, and the shimmering eggplant colour of Cold Hearted...they all go well together too and stay on all day and night! On the down side, the stick could pop out once I get closer to the end, as it happened to one of my CG Smoothers, and you have to find the right sharpener to sharpen them with, AND make sure you keep them sharpened because they can run down quick and I've scraped my eyelid a couple of times with the wooden edge! Why they made them have a "Cooling Effect" though, I have no idea...it might be why they hurt some people's eyes, probably got some menthol in them!

This is indeed a beautiful deep eggplant colour and one of my staples. Goes great with the Sugar Plum and Midnight Chill colours.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - eye trios in catty eyes
BerryDelicious 2/22/2003 3:35:00 AM
The way they did the eyes on the model with these colours was just GORGEOUS and it was marketed as part of the "Vintage" look...how could I resist! I loved the light sparkle of the black shade and the pale pink and shimmery white looked so pretty too...me being a sucker for all things shimmering and sparkling! I agree though with some of the other reviews...they are hard to get on! The black one does indeed go everywhere and the pink and white you can barely see! If I dampen the applicator a little though, they go on much better with more intense colour and less mess, plus they stay on better! The white one does look a little chalky though, so I have to be real careful not to put too much on.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmer's Shea Butter Lotion
BerryDelicious 1/26/2003 7:49:00 PM
Sinks into the skin and feels silky smooth. Smells like pineapple & coconut to me which I really like, but have to say, I love the chocolate vanilla smell of the Cocoa Butter Lotion one the BEST!

Lotions/ Creams -Avene - Trixera Emollient Cream
BerryDelicious 1/26/2003 7:06:00 PM
This is for very dry and sensitive skin on the body. I've now gone through 4 tubes of this. I used it to help soothe my hives when they were at their worst, and I honestly believe that it helped heal it. Very soothing and moisturising - stopped me itching it so much!! I now use it whenever my skin's feeling a bit touchy and dehydrated and with the Avene Thermal Spring Water on shaving rash...wonderful! You can use it on the face too, as it's meant to be hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, but the Skin Recovery Cream might be better for this as it has fewer ingredients that could irriate the face when it's ultra sensitive. I'm still careful not to put too much on my oilier areas though!
