This is my favorite of all the DHC scents! Very delicate, light, soft, floral, feminine. Very soft lychee and lily of the valley. Whisper of citrus so light it almost passes un-noticed. Easy-going. Comfortable. Relaxing. Springtime. Pink. I like it a lot, and I will definitely purchase again!

Scent is very sharp, bright, strong. Bit of lemon. Touch of floral. Very "modern" scent. I didn't care for it at all. Too sharp. I like softer, muted scents, and this scent is NOT soft or muted. It comes off as very "modern" and "trendy" to me. It's not for me, but I can see how other women might like this.

Scent is very fruity. Lots of fruit. Mixed fruit... melon, berry, citrus ..... and a touch of floral. It's okay. Too "fruity" and sweet for me though.

Scent smells to me just like BUG SPRAY. Literally. DHC says this is their "most delicate scent"??? I either got a bad batch, or they are crazy. Bug spray. Raid. yuck.

Scent is of berries, berries, berries and a hint of jasmine. Didn't like it. Too "fruity" for me. Smells like I am wearing my dessert. Where's the Cool-Whip???

Scent is a light, delicate, "woodsy" fragrance. Light yet with a definite touch of "musk" in it. I didn't like it. I am not fond of woodsy/musky scents... not even light delicate ones.

Scent smells very strongly of oranges. I didn't like it, but if you are someone who likes "citrusy" perfumes, then I bet you'll like this one. Smells like someone just squeezed an orange on my wrist. Literally. ___UPDATE____(10-14-06) I have revisited this perfume after a long time away from it. I left it sitting on the back of my dresser and haven't worn or smelled it in a long time. I tried it again yesterday, and for some reason this smells lovely to me now. It does smell like oranges, but it also is creamy, mellow and sweet. I know I didn't like this before, but for some reason NOW this smells lovely to me. I cannot for the life of me remember why I didn't like this fragrance previously, as it smells great to me now. Funny how your taste and mood can change with fragrances over time. Anyway, I like this a lot now, and I purchased another bottle from DHC today! So I am upping this fragrance from 3 lippies to a 5 lippies because I like it so much now. Fragrance is such a personal and changing thing ... it really makes reviewing a fragrance difficult, as a person's changing mood can even alter their opinion of a fragrance. Oh well. Suffice it to say this smells like creamy, sweet oranges ..... and I like it a lot now! LOL! :)

Scent reminds me of Bazooka gum (remember the gum that came with a cartoon wrapped around it?) mixed with musk. Didn't like it.

Scent is very peachy with an undertone of musk. Warm scent. I didn't like it, but I can see how other women who like "fruity" fragrances might like it.

Powders -Burt's Bees - Wings of Love Powdered Rice Paper
rated 5 of 5
ruby_tea_roses 2/5/2006 6:24:00 PM

I really like these Burt's Bees Powdered Rice Papers. They are blotting papers that have oil-absorbing powder on one side of them, so when you blot the oil from your face it also adds some of the powder to your skin for additional shine/oil control. This is great, because I have really oily skin in my T-zone. And these papers never leave my face with white powder residue, in fact, they are better for my oily skin touch-ups than any other blotting paper I have ever used because I don't have to follow them with an additional powder application. Usually, I will blot my shiny face with blotting papers, then touch up with translucent powder. Now, with Burt's Bees Powdered Rice Papers I no longer have that extra step of touching up with translucent powder after I blot away the shine. The Rice Paper blotters do both steps at once. I love that! And the powder has never appeared white on me, just translucent. Maybe it is because my skin is very oily, and the powder absorbs more readily into my skin than others, I don't know .... but these rice papers have been really great for my skin, and I have only good things to say about them! I will absolutely purchase these again and again! I buy these Burt's Bees Powdered Rice Papers in bulk (along with Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers!<--Gotta have my "peppermint" fix! haha!) so that I will always have them on hand! :)

Skincare - Face -Olay - Age Defying Protective Renewal Lotion
rated 5 of 5
ruby_tea_roses 2/4/2006 2:00:00 AM

Oil of Olay Age Defying Protective Renewal Lotion SPF 15 is an excellent daytime moisturizer. It is light and leaves a matte finish so it is perfect for use under make-up. It has built-in UVA/UVB SPF 15 which is great for daytime wear. It also has BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) that are gentler on the skin than AHAs, and help even skin tone and reduce fine lines and other signs of aging. I have tried many, many, many day creams .... and I keep coming back to Olay Age Defying Protective Renewal Lotion. Most other SPF moisturizers leave my oily/combo skin feeling greasy and heavy. But Olay Age Defying Protective Renewal Lotion is so light and absorbs so completely that it leaves my skin with a clean, matte finish that feels light and like my skin can "breathe". It has really made a noticable improvement in my skin tone and has even helped decrease my pore size. I have always had large pores on my nose and across the tops of my cheeks, and since using Olay Age Defying Protective Renewal Lotion I notice that my pores appear significantly smaller and more refined. I am assuming this is from the Beta Hydroxy Acids. Anyway, this is a really exceptional product that has worked wonderfully for my skin. I will definitely purchase again.

Treatments -Signature Club A - Non Toxic Silicone Plus
rated 1 of 5
ruby_tea_roses 2/2/2006 1:32:00 PM

This stuff was just horrible. It balls up on your skin and makes it impossible to apply any sort of foundation over it. Liquid foundations will smear it away, and powder foundations will cause it to ball up into little sticky balls of silicone all over your face. Would only look good if worn alone with nothing applied on top of it. Yuck. Will not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Signature Club A - advanced formula 5 essentials creme
rated 5 of 5
ruby_tea_roses 2/2/2006 1:09:00 PM

This is an average moisturizer. It is creamy and absorbs well. It left a nice matte finish. The eye cream that comes with it on the top compartment of the piggy-back jar is nice and thick. The eye cream moisturizes well too. Overall it is average. I have been using this creme for a while, and it seems there is nothing special about the Advanced 5-Essentials cream. I can get the same results from any bottle of moisturizer on the shelf at any drugstore. Just average. With so many excellent, high performing moisturizers out there to choose from, I see no point in purchasing this cream again. _______UPDATE_______(4/24/06) Okay, I have upped my rating of the 5 Essentials Creme to 5 stars. The reason: My skin has been breaking out non-stop lately, and nothing I used was able to clear it up without overdrying my skin. I remembered there was retinol in this 5 Essentials Creme, and also how light it is (has never clogged my pores or caused me to breakout when I used it in the past)... so I dug this out of my drawer and tried it again for a few days and nights ..... surprisingly it cleared my skin right up! I also noticed that a small age spot that was developing under my left eye over the past several weeks (despite all my efforts to prevent it) had suddenly become so light that it was barely noticable! I guess I underestimated how good this creme really is. It's funny how sometimes you think a product isn't working until you stop using it, and then your skin starts to slowly go downhill. My skin has become clear and even again since I started using the 5 Essentials again, and I plan on continuing to use the 5 Essentials at night (along with the Signature Club A Retinol capsules twice a week under the 5 Essentials Creme). My skin is improving, and I guess I can't argue with good results! Got to give credit where credit is due! 5 stars!

Concealers -Signature Club A - Big 7 Wonderwheel Compact
rated 1 of 5
ruby_tea_roses 2/2/2006 12:54:00 PM

Yuck. Greasy, thick, oily and does not blend well at all. Can't believe I got suckered into buying this. Unless you have bone-dry skin that will absorb the heavy grease and oils in this make-up, don't waste your money. Come to think of it .... I don't think you want your skin absorbing the chemicals in the grease from this low-quality, el-cheapo make-up. Stay away. This stuff is gross.
