Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - 10
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:59:00 AM
While I probably wouldn't buy this product again, it was fun while it lasted. The pink is very sheer and cute, and the bronze is subtle (at lest on my skin) as well. It looks cute over existing blush, just to give your face some depth/extra finishing touch. There is a bit of glitter in it, which is fine if the product is applied lightly, but if you slather it on (which you will probably have to do to make the pink visible) it will have too much glitter. Also, its design is made that way so you apply the blush and bronzer at the same time, but really I always want to apply more of the blush than bronzer, so it's kind of challenging to apply.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Black
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:48:00 AM
I have had the same bottle of this for YEARS now, and though I should probably throw it away at this point, it still works just fine so I'm holding onto it. This eyeliner is cheap and WORKS. I have bought more expensive eyeliners that worked far less well. The brush is easy to use, and it is wet when first applied, so you can blend it right away/wipe it off if you mess up. It dries fairly quickly though, so don't wait too long. It also is surprisingly long-lasting. It's not waterproof, though, and if you rub your eyes a lot it will definitely come of. Still a great product though, totally recommend this.

Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - Brow-Zing in Dark
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:46:00 AM
Love it! This product will last a long time, for this reason the price (not cheap) is reasonable. This is good for people with sparse eyebrows, to fill them and and make them look shaped and perfect. I actually have full eyebrows, but I still keep this around just in case. Can also be used to define the arch better. I gave this four lipstick-things instead of five only because, though it is not hard to apply, it is hard to apply WELL. Takes a bit of practice- make sure if you buy it, you get a salesperson show you how to use it, first. Also make sure to brush your eyebrows after putting it on, to make sure it's evenly distributed. Also: the "dark" shade is much better than the medium.. I had been using the medium for a while, but is really quite red.. unless you have red hair/eyerows, this probably wont work for you. (Unless of course, you have light hair/eyebrows, in which case you should go for the "light" one.)

Cleansers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:40:00 AM
I used this twice, both times it dried out my skin to an unforgivable degree. I returned it. Might be okay for someone with oily skin, but for someone like me (dry/normalish skin) it's not a good choice.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:31:00 AM
Has infinite uses. Can be used to basically moisturize any body part.. like you can slather it on your feet, put socks on (this well feel kind of mushy, don't walk around after you do this) and go to sleep and your feet will be soft when you wake up. You can put it on your fingers when applying nail polish to minimize the polish sticking to fingers.. you can apply it to your scalp before coloring hair to make the dye not sink into your scalp as much.. you can put it on your lips for major moisturizing effects (though it does feel rather sticky, of course). And it's cheap! Yay.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:28:00 AM
Layers without clumping and, as promised, leaves lashes SOFT as opposed to crunchy, which is the result of most mascaras. Love it! No real negative feedback, it comes off a bit, as do all mascaras, eventually. They have a waterproof version, though, which I haven't used but would be a good option for anyone worried about it coming off.

Tools -Gillette - Fusion Razor
gorbe 2/12/2010 3:22:00 AM
My favorite razor ever! I have thick, dark hair that grows quickly. This razor works really well for a smooth, quick shave. I was skeptical about the vibrating working but it DEFINITELY improves the shave. It seems to lightly remove dead skin cells, too, to the skin looks refreshed and feels smoooth. My hair grows back just as quickly, but I don't think this can be helped, not the razors fault. Definitely would buy again.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Face-Aid
gorbe 2/11/2010 10:51:00 PM
This product does nothing for me. Looking over other people's reviews, though, it seems to be helpful for people with oily skin, as far as keeping oil under control as well as slowly making skin better (it has saylic acid in it). If you have dry skin (like me) this product will likely do nothing. I realy wish it did, because I got it really cheap (on sale) and it is cutely packaged, with little plus signs on it for some reason. (I guess like a first aid kit-style?..). But it did nothing to decrease redness. Didn't hurt my skin either, just rather neutral.

Masks -Burt's Bees - pore-refining mask with green french clay ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:34:00 AM
I love this! I have big pores, and am always looking for products that will make them smaller. This one definitely makes them visibily smaller after one use (Note: this is not permanent, pore size is impossible to really permanently alter, all one can do is work with that they have..). The product feels tingly as it dries, which makes me feel like it is doing something. It washes off very easily, and leaves my skin looking overall refreshed and pores look refined. I am guessing this product can really be used less than 10 times before it runs out, but even still it is a reasonable price and something I would definitely purchase again. Best "pore mask" I have ever encountered. The one downside: You have to mix the product yourself.. which would be okay, if Burt's Bees wasn't so mysteriously vague about how much water to add. It simple says something like "add enough water to make it a thin paste".. I really have no idea how much this amount is, you know, in ounces. I ended up making it too watery, adding a bit more of the powder, but then just giving up and not wanting to waste it, using it a bit watery. This still worked out fine, it was a bit hard to apply (the stick they provide is basically useless), but worked regardless, and had great results.

Toners -Burt's Bees - Rosewater & Glycerin Toner
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:28:00 AM
I love this product because of: the cute glass bottle, the good smell, and the way it makes your skin feel fresh and clean, when lightly swiped over. Toner is very important to use after you cleanse, to remove any excess makeup/dirt on your skin- in this sense it definitely works, I can always see a bit of makeup that I missed on the cotton ball after using this toner. This product is also good to dab on lightly after makeup is applied, just to help makeup feel a little less cakey, and to have a bit of a healthy glow. As far as it actually improving the tone/texture of skin, it is hard to say. It definitely isn't hurting anything. I do not have sensitive skin, but it is dry- and this does not cause any problems.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lifeguard's Choice Weatherproofing Lip Balm
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:19:00 AM
I do not like this product because I have no desire for my lips to look bright white, which is what this product does. Even if a thin layer is applied. As far as it being a good chapstick, I'm sure it is, it feels a bit tingly and I'm sure it moisturizes lips just fine. However, I cannot overlook the white color. You may be able to pull off this product by putting some kind of lipstick over it (perhaps one that is too dark and could benefit from added white color), but that might just be more trouble than its worth.

Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmers - Rhubarb
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:17:00 AM
This color looks horrible on me! I guess it's possible to look good on some people, perhaps someone with a very dark skin color, or someone who is not concerned about having a bright reddish purple (hard to describe) color on their lips. I cannot stand it, and I find the consistency to be annoying, too. Thick and glittery.

Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Burts Bees Lip Shimmers
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:12:00 AM
I love Burt's Bees in general- but this is probably my least favorite product of theirs I have tired. It is WAY TOO GLITTERY. I only have two colors/shades of this (a dark wine-y color and a "sheer" color which really just looks/feels like slathering sticky gllitter all over my lips). I have tried using this product with other lipsticks/blotting it to make it less obvious looking, but ultimately it looks best when.. completely removed. Would not recommend this.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
gorbe 2/11/2010 12:09:00 AM
Edit: Amazingly enough, this totally evened out some of the dark spots on my face! I know this is something the product claims to do, but honestly I thought that was a hyperbolic claim. It did though, I had some dark scars on the side of my jaw which are basically gone now. Awesome. Repurchased just because of this. If you are looking for a product with medium/full coverage that does not look cakey- this is a good option. I tend to like full coverage, but even still I do not need to apply very much of the product to my face for it to be effective. It blends easily and goes on VERY smoothly. I have some dark spots on the side of my face, and it hides these well. The people who complain about this irritating their skin- that may be the SPF. SPF can clog pores, but this is probably an individual issue- I have not noticed that it's had any effect on my pores, positive or negative. It would be nice of Clinique offered this same product without SPF.

Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
gorbe 2/10/2010 11:58:00 PM
Upsides: Heats very quickly, straightens hair quickly, leaves hair relatively shiny, doesn't look damaged like with some hair straighteners. Downsides: Price. Also, the iron gets very hot on the NON-ceramic side, which means that if you accidentally touch that side, or just move your hand too far up the handle, it will be VERY hot. I have done this repeatedly, and it annoys me- but not enough to disregard the positive attributes of this product. Note: I put "no" for "would i buy again" only because I really don't want to shell out 100 bucks again- and I am hoping this one lasts me a long time. When/if it dies I may consider buying another one...
