Liquid -Revlon - New Complexion Makeup

This was my HG foundation from age 25 to 40 when I switched to Revlon Age Defying. A decent range of colours which stay true, even in hot weather, light to medium coverage and decent staying power. This foundation never made my skin matt, but I didn't expect it to. Instead it minimised the appearance of my pores, gave me an even translucent colour and stayed on without smearing.

Moisturizers -Innoxa - Moisture Delivery
luckylouie 4/29/2007 4:48:00 AM
This is a light but very rich gel/creme which really does deeply moisturise the skin while providing substantial anti aging benefits, due to the high number of active ingredients. These include hyalauronic acid, coenzyme Q10, vitamins A/C/E, liposomes, ceramides and various minerals and herbal extracts. I use this as my night time cream, and in winter as a daytime cream under sunscreen. This is definitely light enough to wear as a day cream, but my skin is too oily to wear both a moisturiser and sunscreen in hot weather. I finally convinced my Mum to start using it 6 months ago and she looks a good five years younger. Her skin has firmed up, particularly around the jawline, some of her lines are softer and the skin has a much fresher colour. Also flakey red skin on her nose (where she has had precancerous lesions burnt off 4 times in 20 years) is almost completely healed. Cost is around $39AU. Priceline pharmacies occasionally have sales where you may get it for 20% less, but apart from that, Innoxa products rarely go on sale. Used once a day a jar would last at least three months.

Treatments (Eye) -Innoxa - Eye Contour Cream
luckylouie 4/29/2007 4:37:00 AM
This is a very thick, rich cream that both sinks in and forms a film under the eyes to tighten and firm the skin. The texture is very similar to L'oreal Revitalift eye cream, but it does a much better job at immediately firming puffiness as well as providing long term benefits. Costs approximately $25AU for a 15 ml hygenic tube and is economical because a little goes a long way. Innoxa products are exceptional value because of the high number of active ingredients they contain. Most people are unaware of this because Innoxa don't do a lot of marketing. To give you an idea of what I mean, this product contains coenzyme Q10, hyalauranic acid, lipsomes, ceramide 2, creatine, carnitine, vitamins a,c,e, palmitoyl oligopeptide (matrixyl) along with hydrolized proteins and herbal extracts. In other words considerably more active ingredients than you will find in similarly priced products such as L'oreal, Nivea, Olay etc. The only downside to this product would be for people who wear heavy foundation near their eyes. It may possibly ball up because the eye cream doesn't completely sink in. I don't have this problem, but I wear a fairly light foundation.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - Age Defying Translucent Finishing Powder with Botafirm [DISCONTINUED]
luckylouie 4/22/2007 12:37:00 PM
My skin is pretty good so I normally don't wear foundation. This powder gives me just the right amount of coverage, keeps my slightly oily skin matt and doesn't settle in the fine lines near my eyes. Two thumbs up!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Triple Mascara [DISCONTINUED]

What a boring mascara. Two coats still only gives daytime look lashes. Who can be bothered putting on a third? I have good lashes and it doesn't take much to make them pop, but this didn't do a thing for them.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Nude Velvet [DISCONTINUED]

This is a fantastic nude lips look on me, pinky brown that makes my lips look fuller than they actually are. Perfect for either the smokey eye look, or a natural daytime look.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Whip Lipstick - Sweet Honey

I'm not normally a fan of frosted lipsticks but this colour works really well on me and the frost is just right. Creamy, moisturising, not particularly long lasting but for the price who cares?

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Incrediful Lipstick
luckylouie 3/30/2007 5:48:00 AM
The full range of colours isn't available in Australia, and none of the colours that are available do much for me. Not only that, they are all FROSTED!!! I ended up with Port Pout which is really quite a boring pinkish brownish red. This does absolutely nothing to plump my lips. The texture and coverage are passable but it's soooo boring. After a week I gave it to a friend of mine. After a week she passed it on to a friend of hers. After that it failed to surface ever again.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - CG Continuous Color Toasted Almond
luckylouie 3/30/2007 5:23:00 AM
An old favourite from way back. This is a fantastic every day colour that can be worn with nearly any colour clothing, making it perfect for keeping in your handbag all the time. Even if you started the day with another colour to co-ordinate with your outfit, and then you realise you left it at home, no worries. Toasted Almond will most likely go with whatever you have on. I've seen blondes, redheads and brunettes all look good in this colour. The texture is pleasant and although the lipstick doesn't have great staying power, it comes off fairly evenly so you're not left with the dreaded lip ring.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay With Soft Flex Lipstick
luckylouie 3/30/2007 5:18:00 AM
I've never been a big fan of any long lasting lipsticks. I'd rather reapply lipstick than have dry lips, however I'm a Revlon fan and a friend gave this to me. The good - nice range of colours that stay true on the lips, not drying, average price The bad - flat finish, even with the frosts, wait five minutes to set to get the most out of the long lasting effect, although colour stays on fairly well it still comes off on the rim of cups and glasses and the finish gets duller even when the colour does stay put. Putting a gloss over this makes it come off very quickly. Overall. I can understand the appeal of a one step product but I think you're better off using a two step product. Both the Max Factor and Covergirl two step long lasting lippies work well, are not particularly drying and have a better finish to them. By all means buy the Revlon if you like the colour and prefer a matt finish, but don't expect it to last all day by any means.

Lipstick -Prestige - Lipstick (new packaging/formula)
luckylouie 3/29/2007 6:11:00 AM
In Australia these lippies cost $15AU which is around the same as you'd pay for Maybelline. They are virtually never on sale, unless it is discontinued stock. The colours are good and they stay on well. I find they're better value than Maybelline, and on a par, quality wise, with L'oreal Colour Riche. I have noticed no particular odour or taste and the colours stay true to type, and the clear bottom makes pulling the right colour out of your bag for reapplication a breeze. A couple of these colours are excellent on me. The only reason I would not buy again is because I can get Revlon Super Lustrous and Max Factor Long Lasting at a cheap price on Ebay or another auction website. If you are able to get these at a reasonable price, then they're worth it.

Lipstick -Almay - One Coat Lipcolor
luckylouie 3/26/2007 5:12:00 AM
Beautifully pigmented but no staying power. I have this in several colours, bought online cheaply. I am now running around trying to match the two colours I love, Toast and Bare, to other brands that have more staying power. Wish me luck.

Lip Gloss -Prestige - Vinylwear
luckylouie 3/26/2007 5:02:00 AM
IF only the colour range was better. This is one of my favourite lipglosses. I love the fact that it stays on forever, and even better, you can spend half the night kissing people on the cheeks, leaving your print everywhere, and still not have to reapply. Yes everyone complains about the smell, and it does smell like melted plastic mixed with cheap perfume, but I find it wears off pretty quickly while the gloss itself goes on and on.

Lipstick -Max Factor - Colour Perfection-Bronzed
luckylouie 3/24/2007 11:56:00 PM
I don't normally wear frosts but got this in a job lot from Ebay. The frost is fairly subtle, and I find myself pulling this out to wear with casual day outfits along with lots of glittery jewellry. This would look absolutely fantastic on many redheads, blondes with tanned skin, or brunettes with dark olive skin. I would repurchase if I found it cheap, or got it as part of another job lot. I have a feeling that as time goes on I will find that it will become more and more a part of my staple weekend wardrobe.

Lipstick -Max Factor - Colour Perfection Lipstick - 280 Chianti
luckylouie 3/24/2007 11:52:00 PM
One of the sexiest colours ever invented. Leaves my lips stained even after the actual lippie has worn off, therefore avoiding the dreaded "lip ring". A perfect winter wear colour or evening wear lippie with the lbd. A definite future repurchase.
