I have to admit, when I put the first coat on I was a little worried. It was watery and streaky and I thought I was going to have to do at least 3 coats to get a decent manicure. But, amazingly, the second coat went on like a dream and i was left with gorgeous black, shiny nails. I always reapply a top coat every second day and even after a week there is no sign of chipping or even wear on my nail tips. I think reapplying a top coat is essential with this one, as it can tend to go a bit dull and keeping it shiny makes your nail tips look like they have been dipped in black latex.
Almost consider this a richer, glittery version of Cassia which is one of my Stila mainstays. Great for a pretty, but more glamorous eye. I put this on on the morning and by the end of the day it looks exactly like it did when I first applied it with no wayward glimmery bits!
If you sleep sitting up, this product may work for you. But as soon as your face hits the pillow you'll end up with more green goop on your pillow than on your pimple. Have to say though, my pillow didn't get any zits when I was using this!
I bought this second hand, so I missed out on getting the brush with this, which, after reading this reviews, I'm abit bummed about because it sounds really good. Nevertheless, I'm delighted to have this compact (can't get them in NZ at retail) as I finally have somewhere to put all my Stila pans. It looks great, and the slightly magnified mirror is fantastic. I feel like such a pro when i pull this out to do my makeup!
Lip Gloss -Clinique - Color Surge Impossibly Glossy Pink Champagne

Pretty blah shade as a lip gloss. If you've got a tan, your lips look unnaturally pale. For a comparable shade I much prefer Lancome's JT in Pamplemousse which gives your lips a more natural colour. Has an OK consistency, but not great staying power.
All tweezers are not created equal and this is the brand that proves it. They may be pricey, but you'll never look at another pair of tweezers again.
Scrubs -La Prairie - Systeme Suisse Microdermabrasion
cosmokid 4/23/2007 12:35:00 AM
This is a very good microdermabrasion product, but is horrendously expensive. They give you 3 sponge applicators (one for your face and 2 for your body) when your fingers actually do a much better job. As a result there is so much packaging, which i find to be so wasteful (that's a big reason why I have stopped using La Prairie). The granules are very fine, which is great for your skin, but very hard to wash off (even rinsing in the shower), so no matter how long you rinse you'll stay have granules left on your skin and in your eyebrows. There are better scrubs out there for the money. I think only the stupid or very wealthy would use this on their body.
Alot of the appeal with this balm was the gorgeous tin that it came in, but due to the dense consistency of the balm I couldn't just use my fingertips to get it out (had to shave abit of with a fingernail). Still, is a very good lip balm, and I love the fact that it has an SPF in it. Very expensive, though for a balm. There are better ones out there for the money.
I have to confess, I bought this mainly for the beautiful apothecary style bottle. i think toners are unnecessary especially as there are so many great cleansers out there that tone as well. Still, it made my skin feel lovely and clean and refreshed, but I certainly haven't missed it since I stopped using it.
I bought this after reading reviews that it could get rid of milia. I've had a problem with them around my eye area for years now and this was the first thing I have used that actually got rid of them. Would be happier if this came in a smaller tube, because you only need to use a little of this for this purpose and it doesn't last that long before you hit the expiry date.
I've been using this balm for years and although I have tried others I keep coming back to this one. I love the flush of colour it gives my lips on my no makeup days. My lips are soft, smooth and plump and very kissable!
I was never a big user of eyeshadows until I discovered Stila and now I am hooked! The colour goes on beautifully and has great staying power without creasing. I've got one of the Stila magnetic palettes which I pop the colours into.
The perfect pick-me-upper for your hair on those days when you should really wash your hair but can't really be bothered. Is particularly handy for travelling when you don't want to be washing your hair all the time.
Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Daywear Plus Sheer Tint [DISCONTINUED]
cosmokid 4/22/2007 6:33:00 PM
I used the version of this with the SPF for a while and unlike most reviewers was happy with the the shade of the tint (i have quite fair skin). I have combo skin, so the light moisturising qualities of this product were perfect for me. I also love the fact that you can get the moisturiser, tint and SPF all in one. Prefer Lancome's Imanace though in terms of the tint as that makes my skin look flawless.
Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Micro-D Thermal Refinisher

Idealist did wonders for my skin so I was hopeful that this would do the same. Is one of the better microdermabrasion type products that I have tried, but because the granules are so fine it's really difficult to get it all off your face (even when rinsing off in the shower). I would find bits coming out of my eyebrows and hairline throughout the day. Made my skin look great though!
