Lip Gloss -Sinful - Sinful Colors Lipgloss

Not bad, not bad. Not my favorite lip gloss, but for the price it's good. Sandstone is a nice taupe but wearable color. The texture is decent, not too thin. Not fond of the scent of these, and I think that's why I don't reach for them as much. Prestige is way better, and I tend to stick with their stuff, but Sinful isn't too bad.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Shine Delice - All colors [DISCONTINUED]

These were on sale for $1.99 so I bought a bunch... nice smell. I like the texture, but it winds up on my teeth a lot, it's so slippery. Also, of course, not that long lasting. The color range was nice. I think my fave of the batch I got was Coconut Craze, a neutral YLBB (not pink at all though). However, Spice (OK that's CLOSE to the name but I think there was another word in there!) was identical to Coconut Craze. So in effect I have 2 Coconut Crazes. The other colors I got were nice but not remarkable, and probably won't get a ton of use. This line really seems like it's designed for lipstick haters- sheer, unassuming, and subtle. Fine for the occasional restrained day I have, however few and far between those are! Oh yeah, and I went back to Fred Meyers and grabbed one of the last ones left today, Violet Delight- the prettiest so far, a sheer berry.

Eyes -Amphigory - Loose eye shadows

Oooh ooh! Awesome stuff. I am going to go broke buying them out... I love their "sample" system- it's a good way to test a color, and since these are unusual colors, they can come out differently on everyone. My favorite so far is Visionary, a medium cool purple with blue iridescence- no evidence of green or teal as described on the site, though.... but lovely, lovely! Spike, a graphite grey is nice too, but for some reason Able, which is a burgundy/purple with gold shimmer, came out perfectly brown on my skin. Weird. Drive Her Crazy III, a highly sparkly medium purple, was also gorgeous... but on me, not purple! More of a neutral with sparkle. But yes, try! These are so unique and lovely, and the samples let you test them easily.

Lip Gloss -Amphigory - Liquid Lipgloss (Thicker Formula)
rated 3 of 5
PoisonedIvy 11/5/2003 2:48:00 PM

I bought Liquid Garnet. If this is the thicker formula, wow! It's still pretty thin and doesn't build. Now, this looks absolutely freaking GORGEOUS in the tube. The tube itself is swirly and shimmery and a lovely wine red color. Too bad on my lips, it's a flat brown with no shimmer. I mean, the color is wearable and looks nice with my skin tone. But I was expecting some shimmer and shine, and maybe a hint of red. I was thinking "wish I'd spent my $13 on MAC lipglass", but then I compared the tubes and realized that Amphigory gives you an extra half again as much product. The texture is not sticky, just slippery and shiny. I like sticky and extra thick though! Oh well, I'd buy these again if I was going for a very unusual color- which they have many of- but I will pass on the more typical ones that can be found cheaper elsewhere. Liquid Garnet, for example, is a complete dead ringer for L'Oreal Rouge Pulp in Breathless. (And damn, but their eye powders are amazing!)

Lips -Amphigory - lipsticks
rated 3 of 5
PoisonedIvy 11/5/2003 2:40:00 PM

OK. This is a tough one to review. I purchased Merciful, described as: "Merciful is an entirely wearable rose shimmer lipstick. If I say that it's Pink/Gold, you'll get the wrong idea completely about this color. It has some gold in the shimmer, but also a melange of other color frosts that combine to make a very indescribable shimmer. I'd generally consider this a neutral color." Now, according to this description, I have to give it a low score. First, the shimmer was completely non existant. Yes, the bullet looks shimmery. On the lips, it came out as a completely flat matte pink, and no matter how hard I inspected my lips, no shimmer or shine at all. However, the color is pretty and wearable for sure- just not what I was expecting. So, while I certainly don't think it's a bad product, it's just not (on me) as described. Plus, it's pretty drying- very matte. No scent though, which is nice. But nothing exceptional either, and kind of pricey (at $13ish) for what it was. I'd say Amphigory has struck gold with their powdered pigments, but their lip stuff needs some refining. Check my profile for a pic of this.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Endless Platinum - Reflective Sands 847
rated 5 of 5
PoisonedIvy 10/29/2003 7:34:00 PM

OK, this is one UNUSUAL color. In a good way! My experience of it was a bit different than the other reviewers so far. I'm extremely PPP yet with some yellow undertones, so sometimes lipstick does very different things on me. Anyway. This color came out as a nude golden YLBB beige, but with a pink iridescent gleam in the center of my lower lip (closer to what it looks like in the tube). The fact that it has a silver mica glitter in it made yet another dimension. This color looks killer with some olive green eyeshadow and gold shimmer powder. I really, really love it for it's uniqueness and wearability and if I could give it a 10 I would! I think this may indeed be one of a kind, and the fact that I love the formula doesn't hurt a bit (and so does the DH, he can kiss me in it). Non drying. Long lasting.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms in Amber Ruby
rated 3 of 5

Aww. I love Nail Prisms but this just doesn't look good with my PPP skin, or my cool toned gothy wardrobe. It would look fantastic on a darker skinned girl though, I bet. It's just so orange/yellow on me, it clashes.

Lip Gloss -Prestige - Lip Concentrate
rated 3 of 5

If this came in a color I liked, it might be worth it. I have Indochine, which is a bubblegum pink that clashes with my coloring (but might look pretty on a blonde), and Tahiti, a darker sort of plummy but neutral. I like Tahiti better, but it still just looks... weird. The double ended color/gloss thing is nice, I hate packing around 2 lip things like Outlast for example. But the gloss is so thick and goopy, I might as well just use a lipgloss. For some reason the thick gloss stuff annoys me, in long wearing lipsticks. I don't want my long wearing lipstick to goop on stuff. If I wanted that, I'd pick a gloss. Plus, the gloss makes the lip color bleed, which defeats the whole point. I might fuss with it if there were more tempting colors. But for now, no. Though, I might use the clear gloss seperately. It's as good as clear lipglass.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms - Burgundy Orchid

This is a fairly neat color, but kind of too magenta for me. This one shifts between red and purple, not my favorite combo, most of the time looking magenta. Still, nifty and unusual.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms - Platinum Plum
rated 5 of 5
PoisonedIvy 10/26/2003 12:48:00 PM

Also one of my favorite Nail Prisms colors. This one goes on a dark plum shade, with a muted green iridescence. By far the most subtle of the bunch, and the plum shade is glossy and beautiful, and goes on darker than it looks in the bottle, not nearly as pink as you'd think. I think this one has the best lasting power of all of them- well into a week.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms - Garnet Lapis

This is my very favorite Nail Prism color. Well, except for maybe Diamonds. Or maybe Platinum Plum. OK, I love a lot of them!! But this is one of the best colors. Purple with blue iridescence, nice and dark and GORGEOUS. Especially over dark colored nail polish. Best stuff to come along in years.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nail Prisms in Purple Diamond
rated 5 of 5
PoisonedIvy 10/25/2003 4:45:00 PM

Wow, what a neat nail polish! Rainbow holographic sparkle, but suble. It shows best in sunlight. The purple is best with a dark color underneath, with the purple as a topcoat. It doesn't chip fast on me at all- I use a drying topcoat with, though, which dries it fast too.

Polishes -Revlon - Nail Enamel
rated 4 of 5
PoisonedIvy 10/25/2003 4:25:00 PM

I found a great LE color, Mesmerize. Usually I don't bother with Revlon since I like unusual colors, but Mesmerize is great! It's a dark, dark purple with green shimmer, and the purple is a bit iridescent like Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms. I took a lippie off because Sallie Hansens stays on longer.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Eye Spy Shadow
rated 5 of 5

I love this in From Russia with Love. Never found quite the same color anywhere- perfect pewter grayish sterling silver. I think I wear this more often than about 90% of my other eyeshadows. The fact that it wears unbelievably well helps too- no creases, no smudges, it stays PUT. A definite fave, too bad it's limited edition.
