Crème -Becca - Stick Foundation
rainshine 4/30/2007 8:53:00 PM
Great product for those who want an easy foundation. I have combo skine with a tendency to break out. I just swipe it on, smooth it out with a foundation brush or fingers, and dab more over any spots and I'm done. Not too heavy when applied this way. Color butterscotch is fine for my medium yelloe skin, though a bit dark, but will be perfect for summer. Like the rubberish tube.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - RALPH COOL [DISCONTINUED]
rainshine 4/17/2007 10:57:00 PM
I don't think this smells like a lot of other scents at all--it has a strong watermelon note, and I can't think of other scents that have that! Anyhow, a great scent for warm weather and for lifting your mood.

Fragrances -Zents Fragrances - Fresh

Agree with some of the others here--for a scent called Fresh, this smells way too floral and sweet to me. I don't smell the cucumber at all and wish I did! Petal even smells fresher to me than this.

Blush -Aura Science - Blush -Almost Nude
rainshine 4/2/2007 11:17:00 PM
This is a great neutral color blush--it is a light brown shade with a hint of peach to it. Great for people that want a subtle look, and who can't wear anything too red or pink. Packaging is great too--a compact that opens automatically with the press of a button, and mirror inside.

Fragrances -Urban Decay - Go

The packaging on this is very cute: It comes in a lavender box topped with a ribbon, with a tiny purple-polka-dotted bag inside to keep the oil bottle in. It has a roller cap, making it easier to use. The fragrance is pleasant enough that I would consider buying it again--a light floral citrus thaty reminds me somehow of Casual. I'll have to see if it lasts on me. The price does seem a lot though, for such a small bottle.

Toners -Boots - Fruit Enzyme Balance Toner
rainshine 3/25/2007 11:21:00 PM
This toner is good for combination or oily skin, and it is in a spray bottle, which makes it easy to use. It is good for exfoliating and blemishes, since it contains papain, a good exfoliant, and many citric acids, and has a pleasant citrus smell. After washing my face, I spray it directly on my blemishes then spread it around a bit. Only drawback is that you don't get a lot for your money--most other toners come in bigger bottles.

Polishes -Essie - Tranquility
rainshine 3/2/2007 11:28:00 PM
This looks like a slightly pearlized grayish-lavender in the bottle--paler and more gray than St. Lucia Lilac--but on my nails turned a very shiny, very pearlized silvery pink. It would be pretty with a tan, but I'm not sure if I like it for everyday.

Lip Gloss -Jaqua Girls - Pink Buttercream Frosting lipgloss

Pretty color in tube, no color payoff on lips--too thin, scent/taste is much too sweet for me. Up for swap!

Treatments -Juice Beauty - Redness Reducing Serum
rainshine 2/25/2007 9:40:00 PM
`I've been trying this for a few weeks on my red cheeks (mostly menopausal-caused) and it does nothing. It doesn't really sink in, and it slightly stings-guess its the fruit juice or whatever is in there. Save your money--just because something is natural doesn't mean it will work!

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Comme Une Evidence
rainshine 2/21/2007 11:10:00 PM
Don't understand the bad reviews here. This is a staple for me. Beautiful chypre. As someone here has said, it's a reminder of spring in winter--I put some on on this gray February day and felt soothed. Light, yet comforting scent. The sweetness of the lily of the valley is tempered by the mossy scent, so it's subtle. Might try the spray concentrated version--it also comes in a solid perfume which I have, that works well. I also have the body lotion, which is great for layering. Pretty, simple clear glass bottle.

Lips -MyChelle - Love Your Lips
rainshine 2/11/2007 12:25:00 AM
I have this in the Cherry Raspberry Pineapple flavor--which tastes and smells wonderful, not like the artificial taste of many other lipbalms. I find it to be medium moisturizing--the shea butter and oils make it feel good on my lips. It is a huge tube, which is why it's $12. I don't wear it for day as it is too big to carry around, though it has some sunscreen, but it's great to swipe on at the end of the day or before bed. EDIT: Did go rancid after a while, but took a long time cause the tube's so huge, takes forever to finish!

Blush -MyChelle - Kiss of Color Purple Haze
rainshine 2/11/2007 12:15:00 AM
This is a very versatile product, both in color and packaging. The huge tube makes it easy to apply on cheeks, lips and eyes, while the dusty lavender looks great on my skin--comes out mauvy-pink on cheeks and a subtle lavender sheen on lips and on eyes. Must to try if you look good in purple tones, and want a color that's neither too dark nor too light, and that can be used everywhere!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Sandy Gold
rainshine 1/27/2007 4:42:00 PM
I wanted to try a cream eye shadow to brighten up my eyes, and the MA tried this shade on one eye and bone on the other--and surprise, the warm sandy gold shade really brightened up my dark brown eyes, slightly yellow skin, but the bone looked ashy and very ordinary. I was afraid to try a glittery shadow since I have some crepiness, but the shine is subtle and very pretty.

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - Sally Hansen Lip Exfoliator and Moisturizer
rainshine 12/27/2006 11:37:00 PM
This is a great find for those with chronically dry lips. It's a split-tube lipstick, one side exfoliating, in a peachy-pink color, the other half a cream- color moisturizer. The exfoliant particles are said to be orange peel, but aside from a faint, pleasant orange scent, there were no visible large particles. It comes with two covers-- a clear one and a shiny one, whose base is usable as a mirror. This would rate a 5 with SPF. I haven't tried the comparable Tarte item--but hey, this is way cheaper!EDIT: I've lowered this to a 3, cause the particles are a bit too soft and move around, so it takes a while to get the chapped skin off. Also the smell is stronger than I thought at first-- a strong vanilla. The best lip exfoliator I've found so far is the Garden Botanika one--the particles are firmer and there's no scent.

Palettes -Tarte - Rush Hour Palette
rainshine 12/10/2006 12:07:00 AM
A beautiful palette from VS. The shadows are a pale pink and a grayish lavender. The best thing about it is the miniature eye shadow brush included with it--it's retractable into its lid, so it's perfect for putting in my into my makeup bag.Alas, the blush is too pale a purple to show up on my medium, yellow-toned skin--which is why this gets a 4. I might try it on my eyes though.
